If you played Deathsmiles, Muchi Muchi Pork’s arrange mode should sound familiar. Each time you shoot down an enemy you charge a fever mode gauge. A number in the top right, which goes up to 10,000, lets you know how much fever energy you have. Activate fever mode and you’ll turn all of the bullets on screen into.. um.. gold pig heads which add points to your score. It’s a counter move with the same risk/reward relationship seen in Deathsmiles, you get more points if you let enemy fill the screen with bullets.
This system is different from the original system in Muchi Muchi Pork where each enemy shot down fills up a lard attack gauge. Trigger your lard attack and enemies drop gold pig heads instead of lard attack power. You can still play Muchi Muchi Pork and Pink Sweets with their original settings by selecting arcade mode.
Muchi Muchi Pork & Pink Sweets comes out in Japan on February 24.
