Famitsu magazine just revealed The 2nd Super Robot Taisen OG for the PlayStation 3 a couple hours ago; we now have some initial details on the game, too. For starters, it’s coming to Japan in 2011, and will cost 7,329 yen.

That’s the standard edition. The special limited edition will set you back a whopping 41,790 yen. Wondering what’s inside? The limited edition will come with a Blu-ray collection of the Super Robot Taisen OG: The Inspector anime series. All 26 episodes of the anime will be included along with a booklet, and the entire affair will be released in a specially-drawn package.

The 2nd Super Robot Taisen OG’s battle scenes will have 3D backgrounds with 2D character sprites.

Would be tempted to go big, but $400+ is too big for my wallet.

  • The inspector series just released this past year so no surprise and bluray would be costly so it is understandable for the price it is set at.

  • PurpleDoom

That’s one sweet bonus. No way I’m gonna have enough cash for it by the time it comes out, though.

oh god this is too much O_O

though i would buy this if they include Xenosaga  ES’ as well as the Blu Ray edition of the anime :P

Rai-Oh is in the groupshot on the blurry photos.

This is all I need. Nothing more.

clannad limited edition anime (without game) priced 700$, so maybe this quite anice deal for OG anime fans in japan:p

  • Wow, super expensive LE is super expensive, though I’m really tempted to go for it, as I loved the anime, well let’s wait and see how much money I can afford until it’s release~ :D

Edit: Bah, totally forgot about the region restrictions of BDs, well I’m going for the normal edition it seems. >_<

    • PurpleDoom

I thought Japan and America were in the same BD region?

EDIT: I shouldn’t forget the possibility that you live in Europe, because yeah, that would make things difficult.

  •  I’ll just wait for the anime and game to be localized. Then pick them up at a fraction of the price.

Can someone answer something for me though? Why is this being called the “2nd SRWOG” game? Didn’t we all ready have Original Generation 1 and 2 back on the GBA?

    • My theory is that OG1 and 2 are being counted as one OG game, hence OGs, which was on the PS2, then there was OGG which was a Gaiden chapter, the 2nd OG is now the continuation of OGs.

“anime and game to be localized”
Anime you might get but game…The Laughing Haros are gonna have a field day. No word on EXCEED or Masoukishin. We also missed out on OGs/ OGG so don’t hold your breath.

Anyway; IF I get a Ps3, along with that part time job, I MIGHT get this pack. Hopefully includes English subs on the BRs. Otherwise; I’ll just watch for the mechs.

      • The never released EXCEED or Masoukishin because the sales for the first game was bad, same goes for OGs and OGG, but that was stupid from the beginning looking at the sales of super old GBA games. Now they have a super clean PS3 game, which is new and looks smexy, meaning that more people may be interested in it instead just the hardcore mech fans, and while the story may be continuation it still is a possibility to try a last time to get SRW to the west, only me hoping for the best outcome though~
