The Adventures of TinTin: The Game Covers Events From Three TinTin Books

Ubisoft Montpellier are working in collaboration with Paramount Digital Entertainment to develop a game based on the upcoming The Adventures of TinTin CG movie, directed by Steven Spielberg. Today, they released the first trailer for the game:

The Adventures of TinTin: The Game will cover events occurring in The Crab With the Golden Claws (which is TinTin’s first meeting with Captain Haddock), The Secret of the Unicorn, and Red Rackham’s Treasure. The game is a combination of exploration, puzzle-solving, combat involving sword-fighting and aerial battles, and driving.

Ubisoft say you’ll be able to play solo or in multiplayer maps from “the moody dreams of Captain Haddock” (this sounds terrifying), or in a multiplayer Challenge mode. The game is slated for a release on the PC, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 3 this holiday season.

A lot of frenchmen? Mind you. I’ve read a few when I was younger.

Surprisingly, no one near being french.  My roommate loves the crap out of the comics.

I enjoyed watching the cartoon when I was a kid. Can’t wait for this.

Couldn’t they have just gone with cel-shading? Please? Tin Tin comics just don’t look as good with photorealism. Besides, cel-shading can reduce some processing load on the console.

They’re trying for the same graphics as the Peter Jackson x Steven Spielberg motion captured movie, The Secret of the Unicorn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3Xwta_XIJo

Ah, I see. I didn’t know about that. My preference is still the 2D, but the characters seem to have been adapted carefully into semi-realistic stylized 3D models. Should be interesting. Thanks for the the notification.

Wait. Does that mean… this is a licensed game? Oh, dear…
