Dynasty Warriors Charges To PlayStation Vita With God Speed Musou Attacks

By Ishaan . June 8, 2011 . 9:32pm

We have a new game system on the way in the form of the PlayStation Vita. That can only mean one thing — that’s right, a Warriors game reporting for duty! Koei are developing Dynasty Warriors for the PSVita, and naturally, have some Vita-specific features in mind for the game.

One of these is a new “God Speed Musou” attack that you can let loose by via the touchscreen by touching and directly sliding it onto enemies. Another one, a support attack called “Direct Break” can be used by touching any enemy or area on the screen.

You’ll also be able to direct subordinates using the touchscreen. One screenshot shows what looks like a boss duel where you get into a weapon lock, and need to win by touching multiple points on the screen. Dynasty Warriors on the NGP will also use the rear touch panel and the gyroscope.

Tecmo Koei haven’t announced a release date for Dynasty Warriors yet.

This was obviously supposed to be titled: “God Speed, Dynasty Warriors Vita”
My sincerest apologies, but after watching what few videos of the game there are, I really can’t see much reason to get this game. The dueling is just… ugh… DW3 + DW4 needs to happen.

i love the look of this game, i usually dont like Dynasty warriors but this looks great

It looks really good. But Dynasty and Samurai Warriors feels a bit bland and lacking to me. Warriors Orochi really spoiled me…

Warriors Orochi was probably their best take on the series. Putting away the premise of re-creating history on a highly romanticized level, they gave themselves a lot of creative liberty by putting it in a more fantasy environment which would relieve a lot of the burden they would have in having to follow a specific storyline.

The mixture of two different combat systems and the largest crew ever assembled with a multi-team quick switch setup made Orochi Warriors the most entertaining Warriors game there is.

Warriors Orochi honestly felt like the worst game in the franchise to me.  The gameplay felt really shallow thanks to the addition of having multiple characters.

Warriors Orochi? The one where I got sent back to the main screen during a mission because I accidentally pressed Start and Select together (even though they are really close)? The one where they didn’t even ask me for any confirmation?

At least, that’s what the PSP version is like.

Yuanji: Zhao!!! please don’t touch me there all the time! >_<
Zhao: B-b-but how am i supposed to win then? D:

Anyway it looks like a great game but i wonder if you can turn the touch features off..
and just play it like a normal HackNSlash game…
