Last week, NIS America announced their next two anime licenses: Dororon Enma-kun Meeramera and Kimi ni Todoke. Here are trailers for both:

Volume 1 of Kimi ni Todoke will release in October, while the second volume will release sometime later in the year. Details on Dororon Enma-kun weren’t announced.

That’s great! About time Kimi ni Todoke got licensed. Though, I wish they were faster with the process.

Kimi ni Todoke…. XD I’m going to have to get a box of kleenex when it comes out on DVD, because the manga always gets me teary-eyed

    • puchinri

I barely remember finishing the manga, but I know I loved every bit of it. But for some reason, I just couldn’t get into the anime when I tried to start it… But the manga is always going to be precious to me.

Yeah… we get the sniffles just translating/editing it. Somehow it’s just a freakin’ emotional roller coaster, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Ugh our script party review session is gonna need a box of kleenex…

Exactly! And it’s mainly happy crying, which is almost kind of worse. Especially if you didn’t realize the series was going to get you misty and you read the first volume in front of other people. It’s kind of difficult to explain to a non-manga/anime fan that you’re choked up because you’re just so darn happy for Sawako!

I wish they werent sub only, but since BL Exorcist is coming over sub only, if my experience with buying that on DVD as only subs works out and is enjoyable (I love this anime to death), then maybe I will at least give some of NISA anime a try.

    HUH!!!?? Enma Kun in USA??
that series is extremely ecchi and pervert xD

    • puchinri

Lol, like we haven’t always got a ton of perverted stuff. x’D
Kinda weird that this Enma-kun seems more perverted than the other anime one though, lol. But as long as it’s Go Nagai, I’m not surprised if any version is perverted~.

  • AzureNova

I’ve already finished all of Enma-kun and it is one of my favs. I still have to watch Kimi ni Todoke though. Either way I’m glad they are both getting licenses in the US. NIS rules!

Hey there’s a Nintendo DS game based on the 2nd trailer that came out earlier this year. I wonder if NIS would bring it over…

    • http://www.siliconera.com/ Ishaan

Why do you always ask for games you know have no hope in hell of ever making it over…? O_o

I’m also one of those people. I know it has no hope of ever making it over, but I still wish it would happen.

Sorry but at the end of the trailer, not only do I notice the boxart for the DVD collection, but a bonus DVD, AND a 20 page artbook. If they’re pushing the series that hard over here, no reason why it wouldn’t make sense to tie in the game as well as cross promotion.

I just got reminded of how I brought two boxes of the Go Nagai Collection minis. I was really hoping to get Honey, or something related to Mazinger. And yet, I got Enma-kun and Yukiko-hime. Somehow, that really floored me… But they’re still fun characters at least.

Maybe I’ll try and watch Enma-kun this time. Which reminds me, have we really ever seen any of Go Nagai’s manga published in the NA?

Awww I loved KnT. Terrible anime to marathon..well, for me anyway. I was a complete crying, sniffling mess for every episode when I watched the first season.

I think you may have actually been seizuring from all the sparkles and bubbles.

So excited for Kimi ni Todoke!  Hope they do an artbook like some of their other releases, but even if they don’t, I’ll buy it.  I’ve seen an episode or two and read a bit of the manga and it was pretty interesting!  Thanks for the cool license, NISA!

I couldn’t stand watching Kimi Ni Todoke. It was so boring watching character’s thoughts almost in every episode. Funny scene in some parts but that’s all. I’d rather re-watch Love Hina.

Sawako is always cute. Be it normal, creepy, or chibi. She definitely has the qualities of the type of girl I like. Not too flashy, a bit meek, gentle and is quite the beauty.

I’m kind of disappointed in NIS’s Anime Division. I know they can call themselves purists but there really are some excellent dubs out there, especially when it comes to romance anime recently. I was hoping to wait and see how they would cast and translate this, but with NIS that is all gone. Also, no bluray…this show has so many pretty colors it looks excellent in HD. What a waste.

  • Mister_Nep

Is that Mamiko Noto I hear? Consider it bought!

Meh, romance anime was never my thing ever since Kanon. Ah well, glad to see that anime is still headed our way. XD

  • PrinceHeir
