Shinobido 2: Tales of the Ninja Has A Branching Story And Multiple Endings

By Spencer . July 15, 2011 . 3:36am

Tenchu developer Acquire and Spike are reviving the Shinobido series for PlayStation Vita. Their stealth action game, Shinobido 2: Tales of the Ninja, follows Zen, a ninja who was betrayed by the Asuka ninja clan that raised him. Zen sets off on a quest for revenge. Shinobido 2 takes place in Utakata during the Sengoku period where a civil war broke out over a Magic Mirror. Shinobdio 2: Tales of the Ninja has a branching storyline and multiple endings that change depending on the player’s actions.

Spike confirmed Shinobido 2: Tales of the Ninja will be released in Japan, but the PlayStation Vita game does not have a release date. An international release is still to be determined. The game was shown at E3, though. We played it too.

so playstation vita games can also look like crap? what is up with those sub-par graphics? this game could have easily been on a PSP/3DS, especially that 1st pic.

i’m sorry it had to be said

    • It’s obviously not a AAA title, but not every game has to be Uncharted, eh?

      • RagnaXBL

not every game has to look 8-bit either :/

        • It’s not 8-bit.

I’ll take your hyperbole and crush it, for fun.

        • Your either trolling, not very intelligent or in serious need of glasses.

1st gen game give it some slack. How many 1st gen games push the limits of the console

Oh man, Tsuna’s gonna flip when he sees those hands.

Looks good, just hopefully they put in more care and love into the game than they have with the tenchu series. I love tenchu, but after the third one they shot the series to hell

    • Agreed, sadly though they are really the only game that satisfies the ninja simulator itch.

    • Tenchu 4 was a great game, though, the first one is still my favorite. I’d argue that the entire Tenchu series after 2 and before 4 were bombs.

I can’t wait to play this.  I’ve been waiting for something to play since Tenchu Z.

    • Yu_TheKing

I know right. I’ve been starving myself of stealthy ninja action since Z (so to speak)

  • It has corrupt merchants :) It is not a ninja game if it does not have an “Assasinate the merchant” mission.

    • Shinobido 2 indeed has merchants to assassinate. One of the game’s missions has Zen kill a merchant carrying secret documents.

  • They need more talanted modelers, seriously. o
Other than that ill import if not localized.

  • It reminds me of way of the samurai :) will buy it when it comes out west. :D

  • This looks great! More reason to get the Vita the day it comes out.

I’m no graphics whore, but that game better run with 60 fps.
