Ace Combat 3D Will Land In Europe This Year

By Ishaan . August 17, 2011 . 8:00am

Namco Bandai seem to want to keep Ace Combat 3D a secret. The game was originally quietly mentioned in long list of third-party Nintendo 3DS games last September. Since then, we’ve barely heard mention of it.

Namco Bandai “officially” announced the game themselves later and then mentioned it in passing their recent event in Dubai, where they revealed Soulcalibur V and discussed Ace Combat: Assault Horizon. The game is reportedly being developed by the portable Project Aces division that worked on Ace Combat X and Joint Assault.

Despite the lack of information, however, Nintendo of Europe say the game is still coming this year. Ace Combat 3D is listed as Q4 game alongside Tales of the Abyss and One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP on their release calendar.

Is it just me, or could Namco Bandai stand to try and generate a bit more hype for their games? Games no one knows about don’t sell very well, and I do like both the Ace Combat and Tales series, so I would like to see them be successful.

I didn’t knew about this but yet another reason to get a 3DS at christmas!
Tales of the Abyss, Tekken 3D Prime Edition and Ace Combat 3D for me so far!

    Dat Scarface Squadron.

  • I didn’t even know there WAS an Ace Combat on the 3DS’ horizon. That’s cool, and I’m glad it’s coming this year.

They either purposefully withheld information releases (why though?), done a rush job (hope not) or its a very speculative release date. A push to 2012 wouldn’t surprise me in the least. Besides, more than enough planned purchases for the last few months in the year already.

  • Bullshit…It doesn’t even have an official title yet.
