New Gravity Rush Video Falls On To The Net

By Spencer . August 17, 2011 . 2:55am

Project Gravity (aka Gravity Daze) has an official name now. The game is called Gravity Rush, according to this new trailer which shows Kat falling and fighting.

Kat’s destiny is a mystery since the main character doesn’t know who she is or why she’s in Hexaville. She can bend gravity when she’s around a cat, a key power that players will have to use to progress through the game. Check out our impressions of Gravity Rush here and our interview which discusses the Vita game’s combat system.

Cats are now the key to discovering antigrav technology.

They have progressed past simply taping a piece of buttered toast buter-side-up on the cat.

THE CAT IS NOW THE BUTTERED TOAST ITSELF! BRILLIANT!

This game looks promising in terms of art style. From the fighting they were able to show, it also looks like the game could have a strategic Devil May Cry style. It would be a genius inclusion to have good gravity controls and stylized fighting all rolled into one game.

Oh man, that track is deliciously 90s. Fits a lot better than the one in the last trailer too.

This is the sexiest game I’ve ever seen.

I like Gravity Daze better, but either way this is the game I want a Vita for.

Completely agreed. I think Daze would have been much better.

  • Yu_TheKing

I think the title is aptly named. Every time I see more of this game, the more I love everything about it.

  • FireCouch

This game has one of the worst logos I’ve seen. But other than that, it looks nice.

  • Darkrise

Showing the entire PSV was a little unnecessary… But still, I liked what I saw in the trailer.

  • AzureNova

This is going to be awesome! Honestly, Gravity Rush, and Kat, are the only reasons I’m buying a PSV in the first place. I hope they continue to make more games like this in the future.

  • DemonicX

Nice trailer and awesome song. Anybody know the name of the song?

  • Göran Isacson

This is probably the game I’m the most interested in to the Vita, simply because it looks so FREE. It really looks like you can just explore this city in all directions and in all sort of ways by manipulating gravity, and it is AWESOME to see in motion. Kat having a very unique look helps as well, and I do so hope that people will be able to look beyond the comic-book styled cutscenes and not just cry “cheap attempt to save money”… even if that might very well be the case… and hold it as a reason against trying this out.

Just hope the story is good now… can’t wait to dropkick weird monsters from over two-hundred yards away.

First of all, I like the idea of the comic based cutscenes. I think it’s stylish and suits this meta-comic book action hero.

Second of all, she only has her powers around the cat? That must be the equivalent of Superman’s phone booth. :X

And finally, this game looks awesome! Everything’s so beautiful, and the whole gravity thing is a great concept. Architecture’s magnificent. Rainbow high five freeze frames for everyone.

    It’s a nice-looking game, but…

The title name and style don’t really work for me. Gravity Rush sounds like a small iPhone or iPad game, and I don’t think it suits this game. :/ Something more cool and catchy.
