Can You Figure Out Gust’s Next Game?

Gust is teasing a new title in Dengeki PlayStation. The developer of the Atelier series posted an ad and with a girl named (something like) Ionasal Cucuroule Prischel who is also identified as GM-0315. Judging by art style alone, it kind of looks like an Ar tonelico title more than Atelier, but that’s just a guess! No details about a platform have been announced.

Any ideas?

I believe it’s going to be… … … a Gust game.
That is, to say the least, a game with pleasant music based on wind instruments, very nice art, fun dialogue and a somewhat underwhelming battle system.

Didn’t they say Ar Tonelico was finished with 3? I’m getting steampunk vibes from that ad so I’d wager it’s something new.
Hopefully they’ll use the success of the PS3 atelier games to make a bigger budget game. The backtracking and limited types of enemies in AT3 at the end was painful

They did, although to be fair, when it comes to business, “finished” isn’t an absolute term.
That being said, I’m hedging my bets on a new IP rather than Ar Tonelico.

Yet another company teases a game reveal in such a short time. Is that fate? AT would be awesome, but I really need to temper my excitement. my Japanese language skills wouldn’t be able to handle an import of a text-heavy game like AT, which means several years of waiting for a localization that might not happen on a game that might turn out to be something else entirely…
it’s no use. I’ll just hope and pray until reality pulverizes my optimism.

It has been mentioned before that Ar Tonelico 3 would be the final game in the trilogy, so for the time being, I’m hedging my bets on a new IP. I’m all for a new IP and seeing what they can do with a fresh direction.

The town looks like Ar Tonelico but the character doesnt immediately strike me as in that style so hmm
a member on the NISA forums piointed out she’s in a mugshot, maybe in this society Reyvateils are outlaws :D

I’m guessing a new IP, unless they decided to replace Nagi as the main illustrator for Ar Tonelico. The palette’s a bit darker than Ar Tonelico, however, so I won’t make my brain work over this as there’s enough teasing from Atlus already.

the image of the ”city” looks a lot like the ones you can find in AT3 and that girl looks like the characters Nagi drawns.

Probably something that I’ll buy if it gets localized. I just noticed that I’ve got lot of their games so I’m guess it will be like that in the future. Another Ar Tonelico-like game would be welcome.

Andriasang also says the reports hint that it could have some kind of connection with Flight-Plan. Though I couldn’t understand that well as Flight-Plan is supposedly dead. ^_^’
EDIT: It says there: “What’s interesting about this character is that she appeared about a month ago in the background of a Famitsu interview with Flight Unit. In the image’s caption, Famitsu wrote that a producer from a certain publisher had come to Flight Plan to do a character check.”

Oh, thanks. I didn’t know about Flight Unit. It makes me more happy to know it has even more chance to be AT-related then, as I completely loved Ar Tonelico 1 and I’m right now playing Ar Tonelico 2 (and I plan on playing AT3 when I get a PS3). :)
About the images, indeed, both Joshua and Löwe are awesome badass characters IMO and the coincidence of that is quite impressively awesome, I must add. *__*

I love all of Gust’s games; just want to make that clear first. But I have to say, I’m very much in favor of something outside of their atelier series. I love it when studios start working slightly outside of their comfort zone, (I consider the direction of the Ar Tonelico series to be this for them, compared to their Atelier games)and I think Gust has more than enough potential to deliver in whatever they choose to do.

While I really am hoping for a new Gust IP, this looks a lot like another Atelier game. The Arland series has wrapped up, so a new Atelier series would allow them to keep some tried and true game elements, but also try something new and fresh.
Maybe they’ll take a more combat heavy approach like the Eternal Mana series?Just my thoughts, anyway …

Yay, new Gust game!! Now hopefully it is something in which you are not focused on creating items or running around looking for ingredients for item creating with a time limit!!
Bring me just about anything than a new Atelier Rorona with it´s item focused gameplay and storyline and I should be good.
Maybe a female lead in a futuristic setting? I know I will to start looking forward to this anyway. Maybe a confined villain that is sent to school to repent for her previous crimes?
