Gravity Rush’s Challenge Missions Are The Key To Unlocking Kat’s Abilities

By Spencer . January 11, 2012 . 1:04am

Gravity Rushs Challenge Missions Are The Key To Unlocking Kats AbilitiesGravity Rush has two kinds of missions. Story missions move the plot forward and have bosses to fight. Challenge missions are like side quests. Complete these and you earn precious gems, which power Kat up.

Famitsu explains precious gems let players level up Kat’s abilities. Kat’s main skill is gravity bending which lets her walk on walls and slam enemies with a sliding kick. Kat also has a gravity glove that lifts objects, a throw attack, and a special attack.

Gravity Rush comes out in Japan on February 9 and is a PlayStation Vita launch game in North America.

the more and more i see and hear about this game, the more i want it.

A question for us poor unfortunate Europeans- if one buys this game from the PSN Store, does anyone know how much space it will take on a memory card and if it can be played offline?

    • Herok

i don’t know the space it will take on the memory card but you can play it offline seeing as its a single player game for a portable system, 2 factors that always eliminate required online

  • Herok

ok i am getting confused some people say its a launch window game and some say its launch game, which is it? this is the game i want most for vita but if isn’t out day 1 i am buying BBCSE

As far as I know it’s launch windo meaning probably March or later only GameStop whom knows nothing says it’s launch day Sony themselves came out and said launch window.

      • Herok

ok just making sure i am not crazy i knew it was launch window but then the article said it was a launch game so i had to clarify

The Sony Playstation Blog does not have it listed as a launch game, so its a launch window title.

Nothing is going to stop me from getting this. I wonder how many side quest’s there will be?

I wonder what the trophy list will be like. Complete all sidequests or powerup kat to the max?

  • AzureNova

I like the idea of this. Its kool because you can still continue the story without getting a lot of power ups thus making the it harder and a greater challenge if you’d like or work on the challenge missions to power Kat up a bunch and then continue with the story. Gravity Rush is sounding better and better all the time!

  • Ravage27

So glad it made it for launch.

So no words yet of a Vita bundle with Gravity Rush? …Cuz I want one.

    • ロークロライ

Heck, I’d be the first German to import a Japanese LE Gravity Daze Vita, no matter the price. I asked the same question on twitter but no answer most likely means it ain’t gonna happen.

  • Solomon_Kano

I really can’t wait for this. If nothing else, THIS will be the game that I leave the store with come launch day.

    • ロークロライ

true words my friend, so true =)

  • PrinceHeir

    Sumoini and this FTW!!!!!

  • ロークロライ

The only game that sold me on Vita d1. Anything else is just bonus – except BioShock Vita: with Irrational and Ken Levine at the helm it could turn out to be one of Vita’s best.

I’m even double dipping. Japanese version for the booklet and support of SCE Japan Studio and the North American one for all the DLC.
