    Well this is… Unexpected…

With the new stage musical and anime movie coming in the summer, Code Geass is still going strong I guess.

I can’t help but feel that the Code Geass premise has been utterly wasted. Lelouch of the Rebellion was a great anime back in the day, bu tall the games, manga, and spin-offs really haven’t done anything for me. Code Geass could be something great, but instead…

    • Exand

Utterly wasted? Aside from all the different manga based on Code Geass, there hasn’t been that much to spin-off to…

Granted the various manga spin-offs weren’t very good, the light novels for the anime were written well. At least the Japanese ones were, I’m not sure about the English translations.

And Lost Colors was a fun game / playable visual novel. It fit in well with the anime. In ACE:R Code Geass characters played an important part in the story for the game. Of course the overall game was mediocre lol.

So aside from the various manga spin-offs, I’m not sure it’s fair to say “wasted”. The manga opportunities were, not the other mediums. And with the new musical and movie coming out soon, there’s some good things coming down the pipeline. Although I have a feeling the musical is going to stink like the TeniPuri one lol.

The TeniPuri one is amazing, to say the least. This Code Geass musical would have to be pretty lucky to even compare. Starting up with an male only cast is already a bad choice, that only works for TeniPuri since there are very few girls. Even the actors don’t seem to fit, in this Code Geass one.

Maybe if it went for a dramatic opera thing it could work. Probably won’t, though.

…I’m confused. Isn’t Code Geass a war story? How social could it get?

    • http://twitter.com/josequijano jose

Well, there is the Academy during war thing that can be used as backdrop.

  • AxeL

Hoooooooooollllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy smooookeeee.. gotta get this game. Code Geass was one of my favorite animes and I was ecstatic when I heard there were costumes in Tales of Graces F!

I’d be grateful if my Code Geass season 1 and season 2 orders would actually ship out from RightStuf.

    • http://twitter.com/sheleigha Shel

If you ordered or preordered anything else through them, sometimes they wait so they can ship it altogether.

EDIT: It says season 2 is still on preorder and won’t be out for a couple weeks… So that explains your wait.

      • PoweredByHentai

        Yeah, I’m a long-time customer of their services, like… 10 years now.

I was kind of hoping that they would ship out at least Season 1 along with Soredemo Machi ha Mawatteru (And Yet the Town Moves).  =/

I loved the original Code Geass and R2 to death, but this recent flood of new things in the series (the musical, Akito the Exiled, the OAV, the supposed film, this social game…) worry me. I feel like it’ll diminish what made the original seasons so special.

These things might turn out good (not really sure how a social game will work out, or how it will actually incorporate the series other than the Knightmare Frames). I certainly hope so. But coming from a huge fan, I just think everything should’ve stopped after R2.

Most of all, I don’t ever want any confirmation on whether Lelouch is alive or dead. I like the uncertainty of the situation.

    • http://twitter.com/OVAN66 OVAN66

Apparently, from what i’ve heard , They’re gonna do an Boukukou no Akito Ova … but im not quite sure if those characters they showed some time ago belongs to that ova …

    • RaikageV

It’s not really a third season, it’s a different story that takes place in Europe. It will probably start in summer.

you might want to try ACE:R (Another Century’s Episode:R)… It’s a PS3 game but it’s more like compilation of mecha anime… there’s some mecha anime that I know included at ACE:R, like Code Geass R2, Gundam Seed Destiny, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack, Crossborne Gundam, Full Metal Panic! and many more… check here “http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Another_Century’s_Episode:_R” for complete info…

All I can say is that I really adore Cornelia. <3 Anyone else who prefer the strong, battle-willed warrior over CC and Euphie? I hate what they did to Cornelia in R2, but I guess it's needed that way in the story.
