Heroes of Ruin Has Entire Item Sets To Collect, Entering Submission Phase

Heroes of Ruin’s release isn’t far off. Square Enix have the game scheduled for June 26th in North America, and shared today via their Heroes of Ruin podcast that the game is entering its submission phase, where it will be sent to Nintendo for approval and any changes required by to fit their guidelines will need to be addressed.

Additionally, Square also mentioned a few more details regarding weapons and armour in the game. As previously reported, Heroes of Ruin has over 80,000 weapons. Some of this loot is of a higher class, one of these classes being “Legendary”. Legendary loot is dropped by bosses and is visually unique. It boosts a greater number of stats than other kinds of loot.

You can also find complete item sets in the game, similar to other action RPGs such as Diablo or Monster Hunter. Collecting entire item sets will be tough, the developers say, and will require multiple playthroughs of the game. You can also play multiplayer to increase your chances for finding item sets.

  • Good to hear the game is in its final slog! Hope the textures have been improved though!
80,000 weapons tho! OMG! Lots of stuff, hope its actually good and not just junk stuff for the sake of saying 80,000 items

  • Looking forward to this game, but it needs to come out ASAP. I would hate for Monster Hunter Tri G to get announced at E3 with this coming out a few weeks later. It would really kill my interest in this game since Tri G is what I really want to play.

  • Yay for more cooperative games! :3 If only this genre could boom on consoles.

  • Jirin

I can hear it now, the sound of full time gamers complaining on message boards that it’s too hard to get a 100% complete game, and that the existence of missables invalidates the entire game!

I’ll be sure to check it out.  I like the idea of ‘item sets’ to reduce the amount of inventory management needed in games with lots of items.
