I’ll Take A Side Of Fries And A Legendary Dragon Quest Monster. To Go, Please.

By Spencer . May 8, 2012 . 12:01am

Instead of collectable Happy Meal toys, McDonalds is luring kids inside with digital Dragon Quest monsters. Customers with a copy of Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D can pick up a Slanin Purple on May 31. Stop by a McDonalds with Mac de DS service on June 9 and you can get the legendary Lamia – the bird that flies players around in Dragon Quest III.

Delivery for both rare monsters will stop on June 21. Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D comes out on May 31.

    Wow, those look surprisingly amateurish.
Like something I would expect from a flash dating sim on newgrounds.

actually the bird is awesome seeing as how it diggs deep with dq3.

      Or from Pokemon.

Didn’t they have a similar promotion for Dragon Quest IX a few years back? I guess that’s what happens when the most popular jrpg meets fast food. I also remember there being a Contest with a Pizza company (possibly Pizza Hut but I’m not 100 sure) where the winner got a 360 with Tales of Vesperia.

Why can’t MY fast food places have cool contests like that? :/

I still remember when pizza hut gave out demo disc.
      Those were good times ( ̄ー ̄)

I wish our fast food restaurants around here would also offer some Videogame DLC/content overall from time to time, that sure is amazing!

      I feel you!

To be honest, I try to avoid fast food restaurants as much as possible, but I would be willing to go eat there more if they were to offer in-game contents!

Based on my occasional sodas, I’ve seen some Soda companies offer a code that lets you download a free app for your iOS/Android phone. Of course, I don’t know just how well made the apps are, but that seems like a decent promotion seeing as so many people have smartphones now.

    …………?! Speechless………..

This should sell nicely. <=  thought the article meant toys.
This is GENIUS! <=  realizing it said digital transaction.

The game has the collectibility feature kids absolutely LOVE. I think DQ/DW/DQM is crazy popular over there too so this is like- the best idea since what… The happy meal toy itself? I bet they save quite a bit on resources.

    The question is, how will this transfer when it comes over here? o_o;
r.r; tch, probably a preorder bonus.

I’d buy a Happy Meal for Dragon Quest toys. I don’t give a **** what they think of me buying an Happy Meal.

      >:3

      • Kitestwinblades

LOL There is CONTENT to be had! If their happy meal is holding that for hostage then they can TAKE my money XD
