Silent Hill: Book of Memories Delayed To October

By Ishaan . May 16, 2012 . 3:01pm

WayForward Technologies’ multiplayer Silent Hill game for the PlayStation Vita, Silent Hill: Book of Memories, appears to have been delayed once again, according to Amazon. The game was originally slated for release in March, but was then delayed to May.

Now, Book of Memories is planned for release in October, according to IGN, who managed to get in touch with Konami and acquire confirmation. Konami haven’t decided on a final date yet, however. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for when they do.

A big thanks to Siliconera reader, neofirenze, for the heads up!

Book of Memories should have been flat out canceled. The whole style of it is inappropriate to the series. But then, Konami is incredibly stupid, so it’s no surprise that they’d still release it even after all the blatant as hell signs that they’re treating the Silent Hill series all wrong.

It’s called diversity.  Silent Hill has, mostly, been the exact same game with different storylines for awhile now.  This title being an overhead game doesn’t mean it’s going to be a completely different game.  It’s just now multiplayer and more of a focus on action.  Doesn’t mean there won’t be a focus on survival though.

Silent Hill fans have continued to bash the series for getting the same game for years, yet Konami tries to do something different with the series and they’re still getting bashed for it.  It’s like the fans want something to complain about and it doesn’t matter what they do with the series.

That also applies to Final Fantasy and Sonic fanbases.

I was skeptical until I saw that Wayforward was developping it. Wayforward has yet to let me down, and I think they can make this into a good game.

Place your bets; will the game actually make the October release? The odds aren’t looking good.

Konami have been doing spectacularly silly things in recent times, so it’s not surprising to see them do this. I can only imagine Sony getting fed up with it, really.

The game is actually complete. I imagine Konami’s trying to tie it into Revelation 3D’s release date.

Well, it figures. I’ve barely heard anything about this game, and it was a really ambitious release date – in my opinion.
