Jet Set Radio Will Make Its Mark On PlayStation Vita, Too

By Ishaan . May 25, 2012 . 10:00am

An HD version of Jet Set Radio is headed to the Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3 this summer, complete with modified camera controls and the extra levels from the U.S. version of the original game.

Today, Sega announced that the game is also coming to the PlayStation Vita.

The PlayStation version will include a few features based around the Vita hardware, such as touch functionality for spraying graffiti to using the Vita cameras. Sega say that nothing will be taken out of the Vita version of the game.

I may have to look into this Vita version for it, if the price is right. I imagine it will look nice on that screen.

  • Shadowman

Okay then let vita in on all the fun games.

  • boundries_san

If i only i haven’t bought the HD version for PS3 and 360 here.T_T……. Hell i will still purchase this game only to support.

    • doubleO7

But…its not even out yet. How could you have bought it already?

      • Kefkiroth

He’s saying he’ll purchase it when it comes out…

        • doubleO7

Hmm, I guess so. I think its his slight grammer errors that threw me off. I assumed “haven’t” was a misspelling of “hadn’t” which makes it sound like he wished he hadn’t already bought the HD version on a console, but would still buy the Vita version anyways.

  • d19xx

Sega is doing a great job making me hate them less.

    • boundries_san

Umm why should u hate Sega?

      • d19xx

I have a long list, but it’s mostly for not localizing some games like VC3…

        • boundries_san

Well other company also had their shares of not localizing games here lol. Bamco for Gundam series, Capcom for Miles Edgeworth Investigation 2.

If u really love to wanted to play the game, importing is not a bad idea here as it has been so long since the game released.

          • d19xx

Like I said I have a long list and localization is just one of them. I don’t want to whine about that here.

Saying other companies does the same doesn’t really changes anything. For one thing, I have very little interest in any of the games you mentioned.

Also importing doesn’t really help if you can’t get over the language barrier.

  • Zonic505

Alright! I’m half tempted to get the Vita version for on the go then PSN/XBLA so I can enjoy it in full HD on my TV. Plus the 360 version might have avatar awards, considering the other Dreamcast ports did.

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Nice move, Sega. Still upset from that Anarchy announcement, but this does make me a bit happier. May buy for both PS3 and Vita if you have cross play involved…

  • Kefkiroth

I’m a big portable gamer (handheld to console ratio is like 10:1), and Jet Set Radio was like my childhood, so I’ll gladly pick this up!

Now if they could get Sonic Adventure 1 or 2, or even Generations on the Vita…

    • omeganeko

       Yes…. simply Yes

      • LustEnvy

         Rock on, Space Brother.

  • mirumu

The idea of Jet Set Radio coming to the Vita seemed far too amazing to me for it to possibly be true, and yet here we are. Wow. My day has been made.

  • Ricardo Guedes

now bring shenmue and skies of arcadia hd

  • LustEnvy

“Jet Set Radio Will Make Its Mark On PlayStation Vita, Too”

My wallet and finances… take it all. My Vita is looking sad at the moment, only playing PSP games. I need something that takes advantage of that gorgeous screen! Sega, if you bring Skies of Arcadia to the Vita, you will be god tier once again.

Also, Game Arts can be awesome and bring out Grandia II. That’d be just GREAT.

  • Solomon_Kano

Oho! Guess I’m buying it twice. This is great.

  • SirRichard

This is exactly the sort of thing the PSV needs right now, good job Sega!

  • malek86

Good idea, but this really is the kind of game you want to play with full-blasted surround speakers. About 80% of the fun comes from the music.

    • LustEnvy

That’s why you buy some kickass headphones. sound systems can’t match up to audiophile headphones. I’ll be playing this with my Denon D7000 baby!

      • XiaomuArisu

Just googled this thing….with that money I could buy 20 JSR gamesXD
But they seem to be very good, but the priizzzzee!

        • LustEnvy

They do cost quite a bit, though with a bit of shopping, they go down to a mere $600 at times. Lol. Yes, they are expensive, but I’m an audio enthusiast (I have a massive gaming headphone guide on head-fi that is quite popular)

so it was money well spent.

Considering I’ve owned more headphones than probably everyone on this site put together… yeah… I’m clearly obsessed.

Non-headphone audio costs a LOT of money before they come close to what headphones can do at a fraction of the price.

          • XiaomuArisu

Your guide showed me that the HD201 is good without killing my walletXD

          • LustEnvy

The KSC75 is better and cheaper. It’s a clip on though, so it takes a few days to get used to, but after that, they are incredibly comfortable. The HD201 never got comfortable for me, and sounds closed in comparison. If you wear glasses, skip the KSC75, as I don’t see how wearing glasses and clip ons can work well.

          • mirumu

Oh ho, a fellow Head-fier? I don’t visit the place much these days, but it’s a fun forum. I like speed and timbre so I’m more into electrostatics (Stax Omega II being my fav), but that’s a well researched guide you have there.

          • LustEnvy

Wow, yeah, the Stax Omegas are a bit too rich for my blood, lol. But I like speed too. That’s why I always have one fun bass enhanced headphone (D7000), and one on the quick, neutral side. Right now, it’s the AKG Q701.

Glad to see another head-fier about. :)

      • malek86

I know, but I don’t like the feeling of headphones over my ears.

I got an HD surround system exactly for this reason. And at least I can watch movies with the best audio quality with my family and friends too :P

  • Awesome, been meaning to play this.
