Two Of The New Generals From Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 2nd

Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 2nd is a sequel to Samurai Warriors Chronicles, a Nintendo 3DS launch game in Tecmo Koei’s long-running series. For the sequel, new features such as enhanced character customization, a mission mode with local 4-player co-op, and new generals are being added.

Above are new generals Todo Takitora (left) and Yagyu Munenori (right). In addition to these, the single player story will also see other additions such as branching storylines with multiple endings.

An in-game flowchart (right) on the 3DS’ bottom screen will enable players to see the different paths available to them.

As far as online functions go, for the multiplayer mission mode, there are online rankings. Tecmo Koei promise DLC, too. And finally, here’s a tease for a third new general—a mysterious female character that Tecmo aren’t revealing yet:

Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 2nd is scheduled for release on September 13.

    Takitora looks cool.

I was hoping that the graphics would be better…

  • LunarKnite

Yay! Hope this gets released over stateside. I know this is a very niche series, but I found the 3DS launch great since I was able to pour about 100 hours into the first game.

    • Samurai_Heart

Ditto but for the UK =p, have so quite a bit of 3DS games and this still is my No1 most played XD

      • LunarKnite

Heh. Release worldwide! And same here, I have most of the big name titles, but SW:C definitely has the most hours, maybe even more than the others combined. Oh, except for Devil Survivor Overclocked, I know I put at least 30 into that.

How is this niche. Its an action hack n slash game. Every SW game has been localized except Z.

I’d be surprised if Project X Zone makes it over despite it’s famous roster. That I consider niche (strategy games).

Yup, i believe it is this game that save my 3DS from collecting dust there lol.^^

  • Hey, it’s Shadow Kunoichi! :D

  • I”m hooked on the first game, this is great news to me.

  • That mystery character felt like it was Gracia(upgraded?).
I dunno but it just has that feel.

  • boundries_san

Man the branching story  looks really cool here.^^ I wonder how will i change the history here lol.^^

Oiichi ruling Japan and defeating Nobunaga?

Hope this comes out in the US! I got the first one as one of my first 3DS games and I loved it! Can’t wait to see the new Character Customization.

  • Hopefully, this game will be released in Europe. I love the original title, as well as the rest of the Warriors-franchise. Since we’re going to miss out on Dynasty Warriors VS, Tecmo Koei should make it up to us by releasing this game.

Of course, they will do just that. Since Samurai Warriors: Chronicles sold very well on Nintendo 3DS. Let’s wait for an announcement for a US/EU version one month after the Japanese release!

What timing, I just bought SWC a week ago (along with the purple 3DS) and I’m enjoying that right now. If this game comes to the states, I’ll be super happy! ^o^

Anyway, Todo Takitora’s design reminds me of Nobunaga lol.

  • datz wot Dynasty Warriors 7 woz missin’, brancin’ storiez! I missed bein’ able ta play as da other factions! i liked da Nanman.

Humie Translator Robot: he feels as though Dynasty Warriors 7 was lacking faction choice and wanted more variation, he probably doesn’t care about the historical accuracy.
