You Are Not Alone In Persona 4: Golden, Other Players Can Heal You

By Spencer . May 29, 2012 . 12:00pm

Persona 4: Golden has a few social features added to the game like Everybody’s Voice where you can see how other players are spending their time in Inaba. These voices, shown as cartoon speech bubbles and thoughts, can also heal your party before a fight begins if you make a Relief Request.

Atlus shared a video of the healing feature and new cut-in animations for all out attacks on the Japanese language Persona 4: Golden site.

All out attacks in game? That will be awesome. So glad an anime feature made it into the game, Yusuke looks so excited that Im getting excited just from seeing him. Really this game is making me want to get a PS Vita as soon as E3 is over and that rumored deep discount, $169.99 price point for the hardware is unveiled. Cant wait for P4G.

    •  ……you must have never played the original game all out attacks were always in persona 4

    • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

I have no idea where you guys are getting your rumor, but Sony isn’t dropping the price of the Vita at E3~.

      • Testsubject909

Curious about source myself, though you have to admit, an additional price drop could help their sales, though that’d certainly be banking a lot on profit from software.

Sony, as far as I can tell, is really more about the slow burn and the long term rather then creating an immediate large install base, at least from what I’ve observed of the PS3 and PSP, is more about maintaining it and slowly accumulating to the point where it’s pretty much one of the larger competitors.

edit: Basically, slow and steady (and with perseverance) wins the race.

Pretty sure. That is a limited time offer, not unlike the limited launch date offer where you could get five titles for only 40% less if you were purchasing a Vita. Look at the PS3, terrible initial sale dates and the console’s price wasn’t dropped until after a year. If this’d have been Worldwide, I’d have given credit to the rumor. Just France? Seems like a regional offer to me~.

  • JazzWithAttitude

Well its official, nothing is better than Pursuing my True Self

    • Testsubject909

I don’t know. It’s fun causing Mass Destruction after all.

      • LynxAmali

Yeah, I love causing Mass Destruction but that’s because I love Wiping All Out.

        • Yuzh

but you are not the Master Of Tartarus

          • JazzWithAttitude

            Or a Master of Shadow

          • Seems to be something of a Danger Zone around here at the moment.

          • Yuzh

thats why Nyx Want To Be Close

  • LynxAmali

For a minute, I thought this would be Evangelion related.

Took me a minute to see the Persona 4.

  • Tatsumarii

My next P4 playthrough is going to be Golden!

  • RmanX1000

I want this so bad… but the VITA seriously needs a lower price… or it at least needs to come with a memory card…

  • ThatBlackGuy

oh boy their are going to be a lot of bubbles saying “Spending time with Naoto”

  • Here you can find the JP P4G site with clips containing the speech bubbles –>

  • Shadowman

I’m worried about negative comment filling up your screen.

    • Testsubject909

Right before the fight against Yukiko’s shadow, screen gets filled with relief requests, is something I’m worried about.

  • Testsubject909
    • jello44

Oh goodie, I wasn’t the only one thinking this.

I was going to say “I would be disappointed if it did not play Michael Jackson’s “You are not Alone” while healing.”

Not that it actually would due to licensing, but hey. ;p

      • Testsubject909

Well, it’s on the Vita, you can have custom soundtracks.

So just play the song yourself!

And honestly, who wouldn’t think of Michael Jackson’s you are not alone? Wait, don’t answer that, I might get depressed.

        • Barrylocke89

Between that and how Kanji’s stepping is a few moves away from a moonwalk, you never know :P

          • Testsubject909

Kanji, doing the moonwalk, singing you are not alone, dressed up as Marilyn Manson.

  • Prinnydoom

Hmmmm not bad its looking interesting.

  • AnimusVox

I really hope this game doesnt end up being easier with all the gameplay additions.

    • Given it has new difficulties above Expert you could just go for those, problem solved :)

      • Testsubject909

        Well, expert, here I come.

    • KuroiKen

      But P4 was never hard…

      • AnimusVox

I didnt say it was hard, that’s why I said ‘easier’. BECAUSE it wasnt a difficult game to begin with.

  • Testsubject909

Another note… Great, why’d I play the opening video again. Sorry, be right back.

*Goes off to dance like a dork*

  • dahuuuundge

I like the Brotag’s old all out attack pose better. His old facial expression looks like he’s ready to attack instead of a smug grin.

  • Kefkiroth

I’ll be lucky if there are people near me who even HAVE a Vita AND P4…

    • Testsubject909

Get a roommate who has both?

    • Wont that be like, online tho? Ciel no surge has something close to “ppl’s voices” that appear as dialogues around, and is online, so it should be like that too i hope

      • Kefkiroth

I hope it is, I just assumed it would be a “Near” sort of thing.

  • Nerroth

Apologies if this has been noted in another story, but a 720p version was added to the Atlustube (Japan) channel:

  • eliel

cool feature but not a fan of the new opening… the dancing was funny though :D

  • I guess i’ll start on hard

    • Testsubject909

It would be interesting if one online feature of sort was fighting against shadows of other players which served as stronger enemies whose customized skill layout would reflect those of their team or more precisely of the different Personas that are available on their protagonist.

Of course, while having a specific level limit so to not wind up fighting shadows based on Lv 90 Personas.

  • Yosuke is a pro. He can dance with a trash can

  • This opening gave me slight ellipsis. @[email protected]

  • Herok ♞

The new opening is starting to grow on me.

  • Juuu

I’m liking the new OP too. I sort of stopped following the game for a bit, figuring I’d catch the info on news of localization…And honestly, I sort of like the new song+animation’s more carefree tone. xD P4 is, in a sense, one of the most carefree, happiest little games about murders one can find, so it’s fitting that it has a more upbeat song than the other Persona games, which are quite a bit darker in tone. Plus, the bright colors give it a sorta retro feel, right…? Appropriate, perhaps Atlus caught on to us fan-nicknaming them “The Inaba Scooby Gang.” ;p

    • Testsubject909

The protagonist is also the happiest of all the Atlus made games.

A fan, if I’m not incorrect, made a chart of all the characters, showing what sort of ending they had on 4 different variables with Yu Narukami being on the top of happiness and bliss.

Basically he’s not done for, he can return to his friends at any time, they’re all healthy and alive, they all feel for him, he feels for them, he has a cell phone and technology to stay in contact, all the people he got deeply attached to are all alive, some annoying people in his life are gone, he gained multiple life lessons, he’s able to sleep with multiple girls without any repercussion in his life. Quite frankly Yu Narukami has the best life of all the Atlus protagonists.

      • XiaomuArisu

About time a hero got a happy ending!
Yu destroyed the sadness of his life!Pimp Arcana!

        • Dat pic. Dat defin. a meme in the making.

        • MC had a happy ending, too.

He no longer has to deal with MARIN (loving) KARIN.

  • That’s cool.  Kind of reminds me of Mystery Dungeon, in that sense.
