Code Of Princess Picked Up For North America

By Spencer . June 4, 2012 . 1:32am

The Guardian Heroes team reassembled and created a new Nintendo 3DS beat ’em up with artwork from Kinu Nishimura called Code of Princess. Agatsuma Entertainment released the title in Japan this past April.

Siliconera learned that Code of Princess is on its way to the West. A publisher picked Code of Princess up and is working on a localized version, which is slated for release this fall.

Stay tuned for more details and check out our Code of Princess interview with Nakajima-san who was the producer and director of the game.

Good news. No word yet on who the publisher is?

    • boundries_san

      Atlus i think.^^

  • Alex

i hope its someone who can bring it to europe or else i’m going to turn to ghostlight like always.

    • ~ハセヲさん~

Yes, let’s hope some EU publisher picks it up!

    • boundries_san

Me from Asia here will pray that u guys will also get this game.^^

  • YES!!!

    • boundries_san

Be happy my brothers.^^ 2d Beat’em up goodness is coming here.^^

  • brian yep

I hope it’ll be someone that does competent translations.
Now we need Senran Kagura, preferably Burst.
    edit: Maybe it’ll be Atlus.
Listed as a 3DS game BUUUTTT, it obviously looks like a SNES cartridge of Blazeon.

  •  I hope Rising Star Games will bring this title to Europe :]

    • boundries_san

Ghostlight is also not a bad choice there.^^

  • Well this is interesting. I assume that because there is no mention of who is the publisher, the info came from extra-official means. Still excited for the game tho.

  • Julien_N

    Awesome! Now I need a EU/AU release. %)
However, I am still worried about who the publishers are, not having a name at all is strange…

  • HOLY CRAP.  This is like the best news ever.  Out of all the exciting 3DS games already coming to america, and the RPGs like Tales of the Abyss, Paper Mario, Fire Emblem, Kingdom Hearts.  This is the one Japanese game I was not very hopefully for, but now I am so happy it’s coming.  Definite first day buy at full price for me.

  • This is just a blind guess but I’m gonna guess Aksyss.  They’ve been one of the “holy 4” for rpgs in the west. NISA, Atlus, Xseed and Aksyss.

  • It’s Atlus.  If you’re subscribed to their email list, your inbox is currently being hammered with announcements.  I just wish my phone would show the images they send out because I can’t figure out the other emails. Glad to see Atlus so active! :D

    • landlock

The other two games they’ve picked up are Zeno Clash 2 (XB360,Ps3) and the European game Testament of Sherlock Holmes (XB360, PS3) looks like they’ll be picking up most of Focus Interactive titles now.

    • I just read the e-mail, too. Set for this Fall. Awesome to know that Atlus is still sticking to the niche-esque titles a bit more. I know I’ll get this ASAP when I get a 3DS. Along with EOIV when the time comes!

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Half surprised someone went for it. Good to hear it wasn’t abandoned on Jpn shores.

    • boundries_san

      Day One?

      • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

If I had a 3DS, at the very earliest it would be Week One, or at the latest Month One.

  • Muffum

I actually was interested in this title at first, but then I stopped following news about it because I assumed it wouldn’t get localized.

Yet, here I am, commenting on news of it being localized. Welp, I suppose it’s time to look through the backlog of articles this game has accrued.

  • boundries_san

T_T……… Why do i import this game first and damn it is expensive.T_T

……… Hell i will still buy this game again to show that 2d beat’em up style is still not dead in the world.

And for all gamer who have been asking for this game. BUY THIS GAME!!!! This is an order!!!!!

    • Aoshi00

Same here.. should’ve waited :(..  I got the soundtrack, but still..  The US ver should look a bit better since the Jpn text is really really tiny it hurts my eyes reading it *.*… that’s one thing I didn’t like about the game.

      • boundries_san

Well this is what happens if u are like me. People who hoped most for Localization but can not contain their drive to import the game.T_T

        • Anime10121

@aoshi00:disqus You guys imported?  But how did you guys actually play the game, isnt the 3DS Region Locked?  Unless you guys bought an extra Japanese 3DS to play imports, please do tell.

If there has been some way to play imports on 3DS I dont know about, this thing is gonna get A LOT more use :P

          • Knowing Aoshi, I think he really does have a separate JP 3DS.

Personally, I’m waiting for a custom firmware that allows getting past the region-lock. I’m perfectly willing to buy games, but I’m not tempted to buy 2-3 of the same machine that are, for all intents and purposes, isolated from one another.

          • boundries_san

Yeah i import the game here.^^ And i do had one japanese 3DS here.^^(Char limited edition ones.)

And about playing japanese game on U.S or Europe 3DS, there are still no way till now.T_T Sorry.T_T

Well hope that in the future some gamer will be able to jailbreak the region lock and allows u guys to play like us.^^

But i believe with this region lock, there will also be many japanese game coming outside of Japan.^^ So if it is possible…. be patient.^^

          • Aoshi00

You got a Char 3DS!?  Envious :)  My Jpn 3DS is just the boring aqua.. should’ve waited for a better bundle, oh well.. they better not come up w/ Lite or XL so soon :)  one weird thing is that I don’t feel like playing portables much nowadays..  I still haven’t really touched Senran Kagura, New Love Plus, Sealed Room.. and only played several hours of Layton 5 and the intro of Code of Princess, felt so slow I didn’t feel like continuing.. and I realized the thief was a chick lol..

          • Must have hurt to spend $400++ for a Japanese console to play Japanese games…

Custom firmwares will be harder to produce now that Nintendo implemented some crazy security measures to prevent all that…

          • Aoshi00

Yeah, I got an Aqua Jpn 3DS at launch and a US Zelda LE one later.  I actually have systems of both regions for most consoles, like the Wii (Wht & then Blk) or 360 (US Gears of War & Jpn Star Wars ones).  For a portable, it would definitely be much more convenient to just have one.. I have one 3DS in a Mario hat pouch and the other Luigi hat pouch from Club Nintendo lol.. Doesn’t seem like you’re missing out too much, Layton 5 would be here and so will Code of Princes, so…

      • FitzpatrickPhillips

Really? I don’t find it THAT small. Its a huge improvement over the tiny tiny tiny PSP japanese text. That hurt my eyes a ton, rather than CoP’s.

        • Aoshi00

I dunno, I just find the text to be unnecessary small, looks even worse w/ 3D turned on.  It’s not like Prof Layton where they had to fit in the whole puzzle question on one screen no matter how long..  the text for Layton 5 was a bit harder to read too compared to the first 4 games on the DS..

      • You might be in luck if we hear about this “larger 3DS”:

        Oh, yeah. Region locks :(

        • Aoshi00

Wonder how true is that.. don’t think I’m in a rush to get a 3DS XL though, as I have 2 3DS’s alrdy.. I think they would go thru a Lite redesign first before going XL?   I did enjoy the DSi XL a lot, my eyesight just ain’t what it used to be *.*…

  • XypherCode

    Yes!! xD

  • And then, with any luck, it comes to Europe. :c

  • In Bison’s voice from horrible US cartoon!

    • raymk

None other voice can do that.

  • AzureNova

ATLUS has done it again! I was happy when I got the email for this being localized =)

  • ivanchu77

    Great news

Now let´s hope that Ghostlight or another company brings this game to europe

  • Historiata

    Well, that’s a surprise.
