I’d be all over this if it wasn’t for the first person view and probably random battles….even though I’ve played RPGs for years that is one aspect I do not miss. I just couldn’t tolerate P1 on PSP for more than 10 hours because of it, battles were to frequent and too long and exploration was a drag. For that reason I didn’t get P2 on PSP even though I’m interested in the setting :(.

    • l777l

      I can relate to that.

    • SolidusSnake

I’d imagine (or at least hope) that this game is a hell of a lot better than P1. P1P was pretty bad… terrible, uninspired level design and ridiculously clunky battles are for the birds.

      • cj_iwakura

It is. This is more like Strange Journey.

        • SolidusSnake

What GREAT NEWS! I love Strange Journey. :3

    • cj_iwakura

Soul Hackers’ battle frequency isn’t too bad at all. I frequently could go 20-30 steps without a fight.

but persona 2 is 3rd person over head more like 3 or 4 not 1 with 1st person.

  • Vampiric

    i want this localized stat

  •  Ah so no SMT 4 trailer until after the game is out? So long away.

  • “…that the game will include the first trailer for Shin Megami Tensei IV.

Also, good trailer. Is that the original Soul Hackers music remixed in the beginning and end, or am I just crazy?

  • loving this trailer background music.

[edit – I’m looping this video. The voice sound so familiar!]

  • Xapth

Atlus, just take my monies, ALL OF THEM!

  • Not a fan of the music. It has that Persona vibe.

    • malek86

I assume that is just a new opening theme or something. The original soundtrack is very different, and I doubt they changed it.

    • the music didn’t even feel like your everyday jpop to me

    • takopako

doesnt sound like persona at all to me. and if it had, maybe i would have liked it.

    • LightZero

It doesn’t sound like a Persona in particular P3/P4 (not P1/P2) song. It reminds me of a good sci-fi like anime music if anything. I actually liked it. More than likely they will have two options like in IS and EP for the original and arranged music. Plus have the original opening.

  • I got chills. I didn’t get a Persona vibe with the music. It sounded more electronica than pop.

  • l777l

    PAL and US-NTSC releases please.

  • Wow, I got a “Tron” vibe from the trailer… SOLD. I just have to bear the “gun”……..

And did Hitomi get an “upgrade”? Two chick in one? Ummmm……yay?

    • It has always been like that since the original. The other chick is named Nemissa and as you probably can already tell, she’s a demon. Not going to say much more than that due to spoiler

  • i want this game more then anything right now….

  • Man, why must all these awesome games be coming out on the one system I don’t have…..

  • Jose Antonio Escamilla Ramirez

    Ayako voice???

  • Roberto Armando Iraheta

    Makes me glad I got a 3DS. :)

  • AlteisenX

One of the SMT titles I’ve always been interested in but haven’t had means to play… Atlus you can fix this ;D.

  • I’m going to cry buckets of tears if this doesn’t come out in North America.

    • Zeik56

I can’t see any reason Atlus wouldn’t bring it over. The only game I have any reason to question is EP PSP. Stuff like this and SMT4 are pretty much a guarantee.

  • Can’t wait to see this in action! So good!

  • LightZero

Awesome I can’t wait to play this game. I’ve been wanting to play P2’s (my personal favorite megaten) equal for a few years now. This will definitely be a treat for us megaten fans.

  • Nathan_GreeneIV

I hear Daisuke Ono and Kazuya Nakai in this video. hmm I wonder when will it come out oversea thats the real dilemma.

  • Julien_N

Hum, that’s a cool trailer, save for the music, which isn’t bad at all but maybe not that fitting. I prefer the original opening music
Oh, and…am I the only one who noticed that Spooky’s name is friggin’ Masahiro Sakurai? Of course, name similarites happen, but this coincidence is so striking, I had to pause the video to be sure I wasn’t hallucinating or misreading. O_o

  • I need this in my life.

  • klkAlexar

I can’t believe we will have to wait that long for SMTIV. I’m pumped for this, but I’m way more excited for SMTIV.
