Next month can’t come soon enough. Being able to hear the music of Final Fantasy Versus XIII even without having any news of a Japanese release date is going to be weird. I’m liking the FFVII music on disc 1 so far.

The 6th June will a-coming soon, my PAL friends. And 3rd July for all my NA buddies.

Still amazed that they actually did that, release music for a “game” that no one has seen or heard about in a year and a half (and also doesnt even have a release year). Square really has gone Bonkers.

They truly have. I can’t believe the music will be OUT before the game? :/

I feel like crying and laughing at the same time.

But then again when I remember that Square actually released this song on an actual cd  4 years ago in 2008′s Drammatica the very best of Yoko Shimomura, it makes even less sense.  They released a theme to a game that still hasn’t seen release four years later :(.

Maybe in their reality, their “fantasy based on reality” was really released in 2007 a year after the tech demo and they are genuinely confused every time someone asks “Where’s vs.XIII”, because they really believe that they already released it.  It makes since when you think about it, they released the game in 2007 released the theme as a single on Shimomura’s cd the next year, and in 2012 when FF’s anniversary comes around, they release the theme again, because hey FF vs.XIII is DEFINITELY apart of this anniversary since it was TOTALLY released before said anniversary.

I think I may need to see a doctor, I’m starting to understand Square’s irrational thought process:(

That’s probably it. There’s the world logic, and then there is the SE way of thinking.

It’s actually not that unusual for an OST to be released before the game in Japan.  It’s just that n that context ‘before’ usually means a couple of months…not years.

I hope “Searching For Friends ” will be released soon enough :D
It is one of the Overworld themes that conveyed the situation that the characters are in.

    • Anime10121

That theme was/is awesome and is one of my favorites too, along with Crossing those Hills from IX.

      • komiko12

At first I thought that it would be included along with “Tina” since they are both Overworld themes. If they could put “Dancing Mad” as a bonus song then they could do it with “Searching For Friends.”

Another track I was waiting for was the Town theme in Final Fantasy I. If you played the Chocobo games, then you would have heard the remixed version, “White Mage’s Theme”.

    SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET :D

Can’t wait to get Thearhythm and its DLC! Better start finishing LOZ: OOT and Kid Icarus Uprising before I get it~!

  • riceisnice

Can’t they at least be remixes or arranges?

    • Anime10121

Thats what I’ve been saying from the beginning.  I love FF music, but I’m not gonna buy a game that only uses music I already have in the games (and on some OSTs).  I was excited when the game was announced because that crystal theme they use on the official websites made it seem like they were remixing the songs, but then when I realized that they were gonna be the SAME tracks I’ve heard a thousand times, my interest dropped faster than an elephant jumping off the top of the empire state building.

Glad to hear the DLC will be comin’ to the US as well. Now I just hope they’re priced reasonably & get frequent releases.

  • Chris Lane

So looking forward to this game.

  • Freesun4

No remixes from the Black Mages? They made amazing versions such as Sephiroth’s Onewinged Angel Version theme from Advent Children

  • Freesun4

“The 3DS game has tunes spanning from Final Fantasy all the way to the still unreleased Final Fantasy Versus XIII.”They could at least announce the release date before people keep calling it vaporware. Trailers don’t even show the main character with a voice actor

  • Solomon_Kano
