Street Fighter X Tekken Mobile For iOS Lands This Summer

By Ishaan . June 13, 2012 . 9:16pm

At E3, Capcom had a demo of Street Fighter X Tekken running on an iPad in the invite-only part of their booth. As we reported earlier in the week, the demo’s controls were simplified with a punch, kick, special, and a tag button.

This evening, Capcom announced Street Fighter X Tekken as an actual game that’s releasing for iOS devices this summer. The game will feature new modes, and Capcom have confirmed Ryu and Chun-Li and Kazuya and Nina as playable characters so far.

Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile will be compatible with iOS 5 and higher. You’ll be able to play it on iPhone 4 and 4S, iPod touch 4th Gen or later, iPad 2 and the New iPad.

What about the iPhone 3GS? It’s compatible with iOS 5 and higher.

    • http://www.siliconera.com/ Ishaan

It isn’t on their compatibility list, so I would assume it isn’t supported.

    Where is the vita version.

    • http://www.siliconera.com/ Ishaan

It isn’t due out until later in the year, and before you complain, the two versions are likely being worked on by different teams (Capcom have a separate mobile division), so they aren’t putting the Vita version on hold.

As cool as this might be, I’ll just wait Vita version to be released.

  • Crevox

Let’s milk the game that didn’t do as well as expected and has a huge negative rep due to the DLC fiasco

    sounds cool

Capcom: YES OF COURSE AND ADD DLC!!!
      nah i kid…sorta…kinda…idk lol

    • http://www.siliconera.com/ Ishaan

Let’s post completely worthless comments that make us sound ignorant.

      • Crevox

Doesn’t sound any different than yours :P

A comment is a comment. That is my opinion of Capcom’s decision. Don’t you think it’s kind of silly to post just to make fun of my opinion?

        • Peace Legacy

Dude, dude, don’t argue with a mod. That’s suicidal.
Also, isn’t that a bit hypocritical?
“I am free to state my whatever opinion, but it would be silly if you are to make an opinion statement about my opinion statement”

          • Guest

            heh

          • Crevox

I’m posting my opinion on an article, like eevvverryyonnee else. I find it really surprising that he decided to post just to belittle my opinion, or even insult my way of thinking. I thought he was a mod? It isn’t even on topic, it’s like flaming or trolling.

I have no problem with Ishaan, but seriously, where the heck did that come from (his comment)?

          • Peace Legacy

It is because Capcom news posts like these are completely too saturated with Anti-Capcom sentiment one-liner comment, comments like those are thus considered as redundant, and seems more like an attempt of going with the mass rather than an honest thoughtful personal opinion.
Try not to make a one sentence post, and substantiated your point more, phrasing your sentence in a less-provoking manner and it should pass the mod’s eye like a 0% cardboard box

          • Crevox

Totally, I mean, I was the only one that posted in one sentence with an anti-capcom sentiment.

I didn’t even post like “capcom dumb” I posted about the game that is mentioned in the article and their decision to re-release another port of the game. The opinion was not provocative at all. HIS, however…

You say I’m trying to “go with the mass?” This is my opinion, my own, personal, opinion. It even includes facts, stating that the game did in fact sell much lower than Capcom expected.

Nothing I said deserved a provocative comment from Ishaan. Based on what other mods have said in the past, and the giant E3 post, what he said was completely out of line. Maybe the rules don’t apply to them? Who knows. Either way, I doubt they will care. I have nothing against anyone, I was just commenting happily on Siliconera and then… this happens, what the heck.

Also, I think it’s funny that one of the mods said we won’t have a dislike button, but… *stares at it*

      • epy

        Well, that was rude…

  • dahuuuundge

    Everybody else as DLC

Remaining character will be implemented through free updates if it’s the same as Street Fighter IV iOS.  Leave the iOS version out of your DLC issues.

Wonder with the consoles version doing so badly, and them needed to put it to mobile. Is their a possible 3DS version coming soon. Throw in a few Nintendo characters and you might make some money. Captain Falcon any one?

    • XiaomuArisu

       Akuma:”Im the power made flesh!”
      Captain Falcon:”Show me your moves!”
      Akuma:”Shun Gatsu!”
      Falcon:”Falcon Pawnch!”
And the world exploded…..but C.Falcon restored it with his abs of steel!

      • Tom_Phoenix

You know, that makes me wonder…..Akuma as a guest star in Super Smash Bros…….hmmmm…..

    • kylehyde

Thats exactly what I think. After all they have some nice results with SSFIV 3DS.

  • Setsu Oh

i think sfxtk didn’t sell because it was the same engine and style as sf4.
cvs didn’t have the same e and s as any sfgame, svc same.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ty-Austin/100002154794093 Ty Austin

Actually, I believe SfxT outsold CvS2.  SfxT does have a different engine, they just use similar graphics, and you should know that Capcom loved to recycle sprites back in the day.

      • Setsu Oh

WTF? so tehy are even dumber than i thought! you don’t release yet another ssf4game! (because of the visuals) people hated that and even give capcom as the fighting games genre killer!

  • Klaus00

get the cows and let the milking begin

  • Paul Rodriguez

So stupid. I can not for the life of me understand why someone would
like this. Fighting games work like crap on a touch screen device No
thanks. After playing Street Fight IV, Marvel vs Capcom 2, among others,
I’d rather play on my PS3 and 360.  When it comes to mobile games they should just stick to their puzzle and other games that was made specifically for mobile devices.

Ports of actual games should be left to real video game devices (PS3, 360, Wii, 3DS, etc).

Ugh….my iPad is officially obsolete now….can’t stand Apple..
