Bravely Default’s Third Demo Introduces The Battle System This Week

By Ishaan . June 25, 2012 . 10:00am

Square Enix’s third demo for Bravely Default: Flying Fairy will go up on the Nintendo eShop in Japan this week. This demo, as you may recall, is supposed to introduce the game’s battle system. Square say you’ll be able to try out two of the four available jobs (but don’t specify which ones) as well as the “Brave & Default” system.

As with the previous demos, a new augmented reality movie will be included with the third demo as well, this one featuring Edea Lee, the heroine who’s asked to capture Agnes, but ends up joining her instead.

The third demo will be available on the Japanese eShop on June 27th. The full version of Bravely Default: Flying Fairy is scheduled for release sometime in 2012 in Japan. Square Enix also recently released a new trailer for the game, which you can watch here.

So, in a couple more days(actually, less going by JST), I’ll definitely be checking the demo out. From what I saw on Nintendo Direct, Bravely Default is really looking great, so I’m really looking forward to trying it out, especially the battle system! (◕‿◕✿)

Awh yeah, can’t wait for this. Downloading it asap.

So far this game is looking as cozy as a cup of hot chocolate.

  • I really want to see the battle system. Seeing as it has a similar job system as FFV(one of my favourite FFs :-)) I would like to see lots of different ways to play the same battles and customize the character’s stats .
Plus I personally quite like the artwork.

  • “Square say you’ll be able to try out two of the four available jobs”

Hmm…does this mean that you only get to choose between four jobs in the full retail version, or am I reading this wrong? Kinda bummed out if that’s the case, knowing FF V, one my favorite FFs features around 20 jobs, and even FF III which introduced players to the whole Job system has way more than just four jobs to pick from O.o. Not to say that I’m not hyped for this game still, because I sure am, it’s one of my most expected releases! But if they’re going to include a job system, why not give players a vast array of jobs to pick from? Or at least ten, I dunno :/

    • I wasn’t sure what that meant either, actually, but hopefully there probably will be more than four jobs in the full game. We already know what three of them are, and those are unlocked early in the game. We’ll have to wait to find out how many more Square put in.

      •  Hopefully that’s the case then, thanks.

    •  I really doubt this game will be that limited lol

I expect it to have a lot of classes (considering that their previous game had a bunch too)

My only hope is that the classes are all useful. . . No FFV Warriors, Monks and Geomancers please.

      •  You don’t…you don’t…you don’t like Geomancers? :X Such an underrated job, just like Blue Mages are. Just the other day I finished FF V Advance (finally, had the game sitting on my shelf for a long while now), and I had everyone fighting as Freelancers, and Bartz using Geomancer’s Gaia and Blue Magic all the way through. It’s one of the best ways to deal some heavy damage without spending MP at all!!

And I also use Geomancers a lot in FF III, for the same reason. Underrated class :P

So Bravely Default will be using a Brave and Default System?
The title now makes sense. LOL
