In Three Days We’ll Know What Namco Bandai’s "All Star Battle" Is

By Spencer . July 2, 2012 . 1:37am

imageNamco Bandai is teasing an "All Star Battle" with a new countdown site. The page doesn’t reveal much with images of clouds and a.. raisin?

All Star Battle is likely the game’s subtitle since Namco Bandai filed a trademark for the term in Japan.

I’m going to guess this is tied to an anime or licensed series instead of one of Namco Bandai’s original properties. Maybe Ultraman? What do you think this is?

I’m gonna guess it’s going to be a huge collection of characters from different Namco titles, coming together into one game so they can fight and beat the crap out of each other in comical and hilarious ways.

    Totally gonna main Klonoa.

    • Spirit Macardi

God I hope he’s in this, since the poor little guy hasn’t been in his own game in 5 years and he hasn’t even been included in Project X Zone…

That being said, one of the images is of the sky. The sky is associated with wind, and Klonoa’s title is “Child of the Wind” :3

  • Nicolas Vasquez

…royale? well… they are making SMB.

  • Hmm~ Questions be raisin’ in my head. [Rimshot]

  • Super Smash Namco Bandai Bros????? I wouldn’t surprised if it’s the new SSB since Namco is developing New Super Mario U….

    • Hatkhora

I was thinking the same thing. We already have Super Smash Bros. and  with Sony releasing PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, it seems like Namco Bandai want in on the action.

  • Seems Bamco is in a cross over hype currently. Project X Zone and then this.

  • Well, I’ll just wait, three days go by quite fast actually.

  • blaizevincent

I could only think that this is Smash bros isnt it? but at the same time i dont think Nintendo would allow Namco to have the teaser site as its still their game. It wont be a Namco All star fighter since they are working on Smash bros. So i think with all that in mind it’ll be an Anime Fighter of somesort for Japanese Only release. Something small since if its a fighter they are a bit busy with Smash Bros.

  • Perhaps this an experimental game to act as the base for Namco before they make the next Super Smash Bros. game for feedback and how they can improve from this yet-to-be revealed game to Smash Bros.

    • Jiikae

       This is what I’m thinking.

Would be funny if that drum main character from Taiko no Tatsujin was part of the roster. Super move? Why, that would be millions of notes whacking the enemy as Taiko does its thing.

  • British_Otaku

Wouldn’t mind an anime license all star battle…
They hold the rights to Naruto (PlayStation and Xbox at least), Dragon Ball, RahXephon, Gundam,  Digimon, Inuyasha, One Piece, Afro Samurai and a lot more… Aside from Banpresto/Nintendo’s Jump Superstars production in the past…

I would love another one of the Jump Stars series…

The crossover frenzy for NB continues…
Now only if one of them ASIDE from Smash Bros would be confirmed to be on route for localisation.

    • LynxAmali

Why hasn’t there been another RahXephon game?

There was that one VN/ Action game hybrid released alongside the TV show and that was it.

      God, so much potential.

  • Fermented grapes need fertile soil, but for now, all we get are raisins.

    • That was immediately what I thought of, too!

  • XiaomuArisu

First sony now NB…could be awesome! Yuri vs. Jin!

  • Zonic505

Man, that background isn’t giving any real clues as what it could be. Though only 3 days away, so thankfully, we don’t have to wait as long or get teased as much like with PxZ.

  • AuraGuyChris

    I’m guessing it’s something we won’t get!

  • Farid Belkacemi

    Tekken x Street Fighter ? :p

  • I’m pretty curious which characters they’d go with for this game.  I wonder if there’ll be a lot of overlap between this and the RPG they’re doing, or will they go out of their way to have a lot of other unique characters in it.  I’m definitely all for more Klonoa, as others have mentioned.  Also wouldn’t mind some Baten Kaitos or Rolling Thunder in there too.

  • This comment isn’t towards anybody specific, but a lot of people keep saying that Namco wants to get in on the SSB money because of this or because of their part in the new one, but the truth is they’ve Already gotten in on it.

The Game is called Tales of VS and it came out almost 3 years ago.

  • LustEnvy

Isn’t Namco the one working on the new Smash Bros? No way it’s a game of their own to compete. I wouldn’t call Tales of VS. competition…

  • Herok♞

I know what it is, something that won’t leave Japan.

  • Solomon_Kano

Would be cool if they crossed all of their anime properties rather than their original properties. In a more traditional fighter too, that would be nice. Save the Smash Bros. stuff for Smash Bros., since they’re already working on it.

  • esteban cartagena

The only thing we will know for sure is that is not coming to the US.
