Ys Celceta: Sea of Trees Pumps Up Vita’s Lineup With Non Stop Action

By Spencer . July 24, 2012 . 3:00pm

Snowball throwing monsters! Giant bosses! Jumping fish! Adol getting slapped! We get it, Ys Celceta: Sea of Trees is action-packed and all of this takes place in Adol’s sealed memories.

The trailer covers some of the systems we mentioned before like the insight skill learning system and the touch screen character changing. Looks like you can switch characters really fast, perhaps even fast enough to micromanage battles. Hmm… I wonder if you can do that in Ys Celceta: Sea of Trees.

A reason to buy ps vita if it comes out here in europe

  • Daniel Morandi

One of my main reasons to get a ps Vita. I trust you Xseed.

  • LustEnvy

    XSeed won’t let us down.

  • Davide Costa

“Snowball throwing monsters! Giant bosses! Jumping fish! Adol getting slapped!”
You forgot the High-speed section and the kickass music.
And for slapped you mean “knocked down semi-incounscious”? (hope to pound that jerk in a blood mess in the game).

Lastly, that limited bonus map is similiar to Europe hence differences.

  • Shinji Kazuya

    Looks amazing!! o o

  • epy

This looks like loads of fun just an Ys game should. The change of VA for Adol is a bit of a head scratcher though. Can’t wait.

  • The boss in 0:33 remind me me with one of the monster in Gods eater lol

  • Altritter

Looks awesome, but the lack of Dogi is a bit disturbing. I really hope he’s at least IN the game, but playable would be even better.

    • Raiyu

This is a younger Adol when he first started out as an adventurer (think 16-18). I don’t think he has met Dogi yet.

      • JazzyMan123

Though in proper order Ys IV takes place after Ys I-II where Adol met Dogi on Esteria.

        • Raiyu

AH yes you are right. It’s been a while since I played Ys I and II.

    • He had already known Dogi by this point, but in both versions of Ys IV, he left Dogi before he sailed to Celceta

  • Hoshi星

I was about to wait about the “eventual localisation” from XSEED, but I just can’t. I’m totally importing this.

    • JazzyMan123

Whelp, be prepared to pay the lovely price tag of 7000 yen.

      • Hoshi星

Worry not, I had already bought volume 4 to 9 of THE [email protected] G4U! and I have Neptunia V and Project Diva f on pre-order for the end of August

        • JazzyMan123

          I see, you’re a better man/woman than I am so kudos to you. :)

      • Maybe there will be a chinese version with a lower price.

        • JazzyMan123

What Chinese Version? As far as I tell, this is a Vita exclusive for Japan…so far. Unless you mean a PC port….yeah, don’t count on that.

          • You are correct. Most games in Japan also get a Asia version. But I checked around on play-asia and this one indeed doesn’t have an Asia version.

  • xavier axol

it’s pure raw action at it’s best, that those who have weak hearts or seizures shouldn’t be watching. (or not) just remember to call a doctor before seeing this awesome trailer, cause you’re not going to be able to watch it trough.

  • I don’t care if it’s $90 I’m not waiting a second more than I have to.  Ys is without a doubt my favorite series and I’m gonna import this straight away

(XSEED I still love u <3 <3 <3 and I will buy the US version too)

    • JazzyMan123

You shouldn’t have too much trouble gameplay-wise since it plays similar to Ys Seven.

      • Well that and I can read enough to get through the game :P

Plus I’m already familiar with both versions of the Ys IV story, but who knows how far that’ll get me in this take on it,

        • JazzyMan123

Remember that this is Falcom’s version of Ys IV for the first time so I’m not so sure of the story..it could have some elements from those two versions but a totally different overall story.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

ys series is surely one of the main reason i have been keep wanting to get vita here.^_^

  • Solomon_Kano

Once this is localized, I promise to go back and buy all of the PSP Ys games. This looks that good.

    • JazzyMan123

Why wait? Buy ALL those PSP Ys games now! :D

      • Solomon_Kano

Believe me, I’d love too but… well, small funds + big backlog and all that lol.

        • JazzyMan123

That kinda of situation eh? Well, take your time. :)

  • Masengan

This looks great, I really enjoyed Ys Seven so this would be a no brainer for me if it got localized.

  • Guest

    ok this looks sick

  • So Hyped!!

I’m assuming the blonde is this entry’s damsel.

  • AoiKaze

If this gets localized in the West, it’ll be another reason for me to get a Vita. X3

Recently got Ys: Origin and Oath in Felghana (Thanks to the Steam Summer Sale ^^), as well as Seven for the PSP that I’ve yet to play. This would be another to get if it makes it here. XD

  • My God! This game is gorgeous! If this gets a localisation, I would buy a Vita just for this title.

  • Carocaro4

oh goodness! This game looks really good!Falcom you are the square enix of my child hood!

  • Eilanzer

The guy with blue hair is the same antagonist guy in Y´s seven?! They look alike o.o

    • JazzyMan123

No, play Ys Seven and you’ll see what happens to Scias (the guy in your attached photo).

  • Renzouri

Please XSEED, be good to your lifelong customers and localize this one, thanks~

  • Kamion

Already preordered the 25th Anniversary collection.

Falcom is taking a lot of my money this year. Nayuta Limited, Celceta Limited, Zero no Kiseki Evo Limited. (not to mention I still have a backlog of Falcom Games to get, SnK 3rd I’m looking at you).

    But so worth it.
