Ubisoft have released a new “trailer” for Assassin’s Creed III, playing up the game’s proprietary engine, AnvilNext. The previous Assassin’s Creed games ran on simply “Anvil”. You can watch the video below:

Assassin’s Creed III will be released on October 30th in North America for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A Wii U version will follow at a later date.

This is the first AC game to have dual wielding? I thought the series already had that?

I hope they don’t pull that bull crap preorder exclusive content already on disc with the Wii U or I will not be buying.

    •  I’m pretty sure that’s universal. Nintendo can’t tell these companies to not release DLC for their own games.

Those companies will be looking stupid when they see how Nintendo doesn’t need to do stuff like this to sell their games.

…they did announce DLC for they new mario games.

They didn’t say preorder at Gamestop to get exclusive content now did they? Go ahead, name a mario game where dlc was exclusive to preorders.

But what he’s/she’s saying is they don’t NEED the dlc for a Nintendo game to help it sell.
Your already getting well beyond your money’s worth & people generally know it these days.

Not quite; the closest the series has come to dual-wielding is being able to fire your hidden gun during the kill-moves of other weapons, this is the first one where you can actively have two different weapons in each hand and be able to use them both.

    no lag??? wow!

“1000 new animations for Connor alone”, huh? I gotta say, if the final game can back up all we’ve seen so far it’s easily going to be the most impressive thing out this year.

I also like the new hidden blade; the blade itself detaches into a separate knife, sort of like what’s described in the novels (I’m committed to this, okay), which is a neat touch and is a good way of integrating the dagger weapon from the last few games (which was superfluous when you already had the hidden blade and swords and every other weapon under the sun).

  • Well I really hope this “new” engine will finally run properly on pc as well; AC2-R just have too many framerate issues on pc.

    Two things:
    1. If I ever get an AC game, then it’d probably be this one first. It looks so cool!
    2. 30th October release date? THAT’S MY BROTHER’S BIRTHDAY!! *gets randomly excited*
