Want To See How Intelligent System Makes Fire Emblem Maps?

By Spencer . August 6, 2012 . 3:33pm

Because this trailer for the second round of Fire Emblem: Awakening downloadable content gives a glimpse of the tools Intelligent Systems used to make the game.

Nintendo is splitting maps into three categories: the Ultimate Test (4 maps), Resort of the Underworld (3 maps), and the Hopeless Future. Harvest Festival Bonds, the first map in the Resort of the Underworld series, and the Border Between Life and Death from the Ultimate Test series comes out on August 9.

A hearty Harvest Festival thanks to Tommy Lee for the tip!

That trailer has major spoilers. Don’t watch if you don’t want to be spoiled.

    • Barrylocke89

I’ve actually been making an effort to stay away from FE:Awakening spoilers. So thanks for the heads up!

      • Christopher Nunes

Spoilers? I haven’t been reading or checking the game since it was announced for the US so I don’t know which ones are the spoilers. :P

        • XypherCode

If you’ve seen almost all the Japanese trailers then the video above is kind of a spoiler one. I think that this japanese DLC video assumes you already have/finished the game so some scenes are spoilers.

    • XypherCode

      Too late for me :(

      • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Poor you.T_T Hope RNG goddess will give you more blessing when you get the game there.^_^

        • XypherCode

Good thing I only saw just one spoiler scene. Closed the window immediately after that lol :P

I blame my friend…he got me all hype for this game (i just mean really excited to play instead of blissing sailing through the days waiting for it) 3; and this doesn’t help~

I want new classes (or in the case of Soldier, old ones lol)

that, and ones that aren’t brides

*Doesn’t watch to avoid any FE13 information*

Yeah, I’ll just keep on using Mappy for my maps anyway.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Onsen map??? Beach Map??? Fanservice map is going to come soon there lol.^_^

  • XypherCode

    Spoilers! Oh man…….. :((
Spencer you should’ve placed a spoiler alert in this post.

  • Prinnydoom

How about less dlc and more localising efforts still looks pretty good i guess >_<

    • VenerableSage

The two have nothing to do with one another. The developers make the DLC and the localizing staff at NoA/Treehouse translate it; they’re completely separate entities. -_-

      • Prinnydoom

Fair enough thanks for the info.

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

They already mention that this game is coming 2013. That is not enough there?

      • Prinnydoom

        Honestly, didn’t know that.

  • http://strictlyapathy.comoj.com/ SoulArbiter

Seriously, I want this game so badly…

Intelligent Systems is one of the most underrated developers in the industry. Between Fire Emblem, Advance Wars and Paper Mario they consistently put out some of the most meticulously polished, fine-tuned and fully-featured games around. Their games all function like perfectly intricate clockwork, yet always feel so simple and intuitive that the design seems effortless. They must have some real math gods on their design team.
