Persona Producer Is Focusing On Persona 5

By Spencer . August 8, 2012 . 1:50am

imageFamitsu has a brief interview with Katsura Hashino from the Persona team. Hashino told the magazine he’s concentrating on the "next numbered title" right now. Persona 5 is making steady progress and Shigenori Soejima submitted sketches for the game.

Hashino also teased an announcement saying he has a collaboration that will surprise everyone, but that announcement is far off.

Persona 4 Arena, which continues the storyline from Persona 4 and ties in characters from Persona 3 is out now.

Glad to hear it. I’ll be waiting patiently. :)

  • Wake

    Be still, my beating heart.

  • Crok425

I’m actually waiting for Shin Megami Tensei IV… but this news is also cool :)

  • Ninten

Hoping that it will be somewhat like P1&2 in terms of story and theme, but with P3’s battle system.

    And no J-POP, please.

    • Crok425

Don’t expect too much, man. Sadly, Persona turned into a J-POP culture, Persona 1 and Persona 2 had music like… I dunno… techno? Either way, just wait for a trailer at least.
I liked the J-POP music, but I hope that in Persona 5 Meguro can make J-POP music but a little with the style of Persona 1 and Persona 2.

PS: Why the hell is this thing still showing my old avatar? T-T

    • XypherCode

I very much like the music style in the Persona series :D It’s kinda unique to them in a way especially for P3 and P4.

    • malek86

I get the feeling that the series wil instead continue down the path beaten by P3, and P4 even moreso.

My guess is the series will become entirely separate: SMT will continue being bleak, while Persona (which has already pretty much become its own series) will keep on being a bit more light-hearted.

      • Ninten

Currently, Persona seems much bigger and popular than Shin MegaTen.

I think only P4 was light-hearted. Even though I didn’t like 3 that much, it was dark, man.

        • malek86

Yes, but it paved the way to the light-heartedness of P4.

          • ChromeOrihara

Considering the events in Arena,I am pretty sure that at the very least P5 would be rather dark.”That character” will probably be the antagonist of P5 after all.

          • LightZero

Well if the “malevolent entity” is who I think it is then there is a good chance it will be. This antagonist raised hell in P1, IS, and EP. Although his role in P1 was mostly a cameo of sorts. But it’s clear he was pulling a certain antagonist’s strings.

        • LightZero

I wouldn’t say P3 was dark. It was darker than P4, but it’s like a rated G movie compared to SMT1 and SMT2. P1 and both P2s are darker than P3 as well. Believe it or not P3 is among the most light-hearted megaten titles.

          • Ninten

You can’t compare the core games with Persona. You just simply can’t.

As for P3, I doubt it’s more lighthearted than MegaTen Gaiden, DemiKids. :P

          • LightZero

No it’s not but it’s definitely more light-hearted than Devil Survivor 1 and 2, DDS, P1, P2 duology, and Raidou 2.

    • Nemesis_Dawn

I have to agree about the the J-Pop. It’s the only aspect of P3 and P4 that I don’t like. The whole time I’m playing these two, all I could think about was how much I loved the music in Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga.

    • LynxAmali

What about the older style of music we had in P1/P2 AND J-Pop?

You best not be getting in the way of me and my Yumi Kawamura fix.

      • Ninten

P1 and P2’s music was more techno oriented.

I’m really sorry, but I’m one of those few people who can’t swallow engrish J-pop.

On another note, Tsukasa Masuko wins.

    • LightZero

I highly agree with this post. Hopefully P5 will be more similar to P1/P2 in story telling and themes. P3/P4 are too light-hearted in comparison. I want P5 to go back to the dark occult style it once had.

      • Ninten

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks the same.

  • Laith Rem

*Arena spoilers sort of-kinda-not really here*

Let’s see if P5 continues the plot threads from Arena or if they make another fighting game for them.

    •  Yeah, it was a very interesting plot, especially a “certain character.”

  • rinalicat

I hope we get the choice of gender of the main character; I’m fine with playing as a boy BUT I’d prefer playing as a girl so that I feel more immersed in the experience.

    • XypherCode

That would be cool but I think they’d still need to pick a “main” character regardless of gender if they ever plan to make a manga or anime series out of it again.

      • amagidyne

Yeah, but they shouldn’t care about how the manga and anime turn out. That’s not their job. Setting things right for adaptations is a path that leads to mediocrity and garbage.

Besides, they can just ignore one of the paths. That’s already what’s happening with the P3 movie.

        • XypherCode

          True true.

      • Tom_Phoenix

Not necessarilly. They could make the two characters related somehow, thus making them both canon.

        • XypherCode

That’ll be something new. That kind of concept might be worth getting excited for in a way. Neither P3 or P4 did that as far as I’m aware of in terms of adaptations. Or did they? lol

          • No. They didn’t. But only P3(P) offered a FemMC anyways. lol

  • Testsubject909

    Great, more teasing news.

Well, at least it wasn’t some sort of vague torturous hinting.

*looks at his copy of Gungnir and Growlanser 4*

Though I’m more curious about that other project they were talking about.

  • XypherCode

As much as I’m thrilled Persona 5 being in the works already, I’m not sure but I think last E3 2010 they mentioned a Persona game for the 3DS. What ever happened to that? :|

    • Herok♞

It was a place holder and 3DS got other games instead.

      • XypherCode

That really got me hyped. Too bad though. At least we’ll get MegaTen IV.

        • We also have Devil Summoner and Devil Survivor. Still Shin Megami Tensei games.

      • LightZero

Not necessarily. Devil Survivor and SMT had an unannounced title for the 3DS they later turned out to be SMT4 and Overclocked. We got Soul Hackers as an added bonus. P5 could still be on the menu. They just have to announce it possibly after SMT4 is release.

Sure it could be something like Persona 3-DS (I certainly hope not) or a spin-off sequel/prequel. I wouldn’t mind it being a full fledged remake of P1 though.

    • Tom_Phoenix

Well, the E3 thing wasn’t a guarantee. That just meant that they were interested in perhaps making something related to that series for the 3DS.

That said, it could still happen, although it could just as well be a port of an existing Persona game rather than a new Persona or a spinoff.

      • XypherCode

If it does happen I’d still be satisfied even if it was just a spinoff game. If it’s a port then that depends :P

  • *Prepares for teasers* Can’t wait to see how it will turn out~ Would be nice of there was a girls and boys side like with P3P. I really don’t mind playing as a guy character just would be nice to have a girls side too lol. I’m also wondering if they will stick with the high school setting or maybe grow it up to college or even work. Both could be done. Though I have no objection to going back to a high school setting a change up would be nice ( ^.^)

    • i really think it would be wise to have a choice in this game. It would really reinforce the idea that this is a new game in this generation(if it even comes out in this console generation).

  • Seven Infinity

    Make it fast and best:)

  • Quote to the late Macho Man Randy Savage:

  • Spirit Macardi

This may sound weird to say, but I’m hoping the next Persona will go with a Celtic theme for the new Personas. I mean, the last two games had Personas based off of Greek and Shinto deities, so why not look to the pantheon of the druids for the next iteration?

The main character could start with the Cernunnos Persona, one of the girls could get Epona, someone else could get Lugh, etc. This probably only appeals to me though, since I’m a bit of a mythology buff.

    • ChromeOrihara

Actually,it wouldn’t be that strange to have a Celtic theme considering that the games already have a few Celtic Personae;e.g.Cu Chulainn.

    • LynxAmali

Persona games have never been limited to one group of mythos.

although having Cernunnos as the MC’s? I could dig that. Could be awesome.

      • Spirit Macardi

I’m speaking more so about the main Personas. I realize the MC can switch between them at will, but this is for the first Persona you get as well as those used by the other party members.

      •  I think spirit is referring to the main party’s starting/”canon” personae. P3 had Orpheus, Cerberus, Io, Thanatos etc. P4 had Izanagi, Take Mikazuchi, etc.

  • Herok♞

All I have to say is if they have to do a year cycle I want better time management, going by 3 once you maxed your 3 social stats, they basically left night a useless time, so if they have to do social links at least spread them around all the possible times

    • Nemesis_Dawn

      Didn’t you play 4?

      • Herok♞

Waiting for golden, so they improved time management in it?

        • Yes(sort of) You aren’t forced to do anything but once you save someone you have to wait for them to Recover(which could take a long time if you saved them early)

So the Schedule is a lot less strict but the time management is still kinda bad.

          • Herok♞

So in 4 can you just choose not to rescue someone or will the game force you to do it to progress?

          • No, if you choose not to rescue someone before it rains(you’ll get warned about it from your party members) it’s game over but unlike P3 your not forced into it at any time.(unlike full moon battles where you have to fight no matter what)

Basically the calender isen’t really strict at all.

          • Herok♞

Wow that sounds a bit easy plus they are once and done dungeons, so there is no place to just grind right?

          • No, you can return to the dungeons anytime to grind if you whant to(after certain a specific da after the dungeons clompletion a powerful shadow will also appear and if you beat it you’ll have access to a secret weapon and have your courage boosted, Thats completely optional though)

          • Herok♞

Ok then, thanks for the heads up.

    • There was…2 or 3 SL in the night time and Tartarus?

      • Herok♞

Once the SL were done, it was boring, and you only had to go to tartarus once a month and it was its own thing.

        • I’d go to Tartarus any chance I had. :/ OP is how I usually play whether or not it ruins the fun meh. :/

          • Herok♞

Well how did you explore Tarturus? I did all the quests and floors in one shot and went back to playing the other half of the game until the boss, or did you go daily?

          • I just went in whenever I felt like it and did whatever I could and then just trained.

  • Nosajk

I like the “Persona 5 fan” thing on youtube, i actually liked the music they put on youtube… so i wouldnt mind if they use that one :-)

  • Ghist

‘An announcement that will surprise everyone’?

    … Persona X Guilty Gear?

    • LynxAmali

      Shin Megami Tensei Crossover RPG.

      I hope.

      • Yeah i can see that too. Imagine when some Persona users fight each other because different alignment.

        • LynxAmali

I was referring to a crossover RPG. Like, with the entire franchise.

    • amagidyne

       Shin Megami Tennis.

      • Shin Megaman Tensei maybe? That would be quite surprising to me.

    • sakahagi

No, probably it will be sequel to Maken X/Maken Shao developed in collaboration with Platinum Games. I remember that in early 2000s there was rumored sequel in the work but in the ended we got PS2 remake. Hashino was director of Maken X/Shao so it’s something natural that he would be the one that announce sequel.

      • amagidyne

That would be the most amazing thing imaginable.

        • sakahagi

Yeah it would be epic. Maken needs more attention and a sequel that will prove that it’s part of Megaten franchise. Nowadays Megaten games go beyond turn based rpg genre – action rpg, visual novels, social sims, Atlus even resurrected more strategy line of titles and P4A is a fighter. What they need is some more typical action game that’s why I bet on Maken sequel.

  • Tales_of_Master

Atlus are really playing all their cards this year. So finally we got a confirmation that the next Atlus game is P5. Don’t know what to expect, but like P1,P2,P3,P4 I’m sure I’m gonna enjoy it. After all SMT and Tales are pretty much the only game series I enjoyed in the last few years.

  • Neophoton

I’ll fangirl over P4A in the mean time. I parted ways with my PS2 copy of P4 as well and handed it to a friend who really wanted it, but I can wait until the Vita port. It’s nice that they’re finally giving confirmation on Persona 5, though! Can’t wait for it.

  • Nemesis_Dawn

    Collaboration that will surprise everyone…?

Oh dear god! Capcom X MegaTen!

  • The question is…FOR 3DS OR PS VITA?

C´mon, is VERY PROBABLY that P5 will be for portable consoles and not for PS3/360

    • Vita, since the other Persona games are Playstation exclusive.

      • JazzWithAttitude

Persona 4 arena, AND Catherine is on xbox 360,why not Persona 5?

        • Domii

Because those are not number entries in the series. Although there is a possiblity though that it’ll make it to the xbox360.

      • Ninten

Megami Ibunroku Persona came out on PCs too. :P But it’s true that Persona is MOSTLY Sony exclusive.

    • Nemesis_Dawn

That would not only be unlikely, considering they said at the time of Catherine’s release that the game was their first try on a console in preparation for Persona 5, but a crime against their console supporters.

I think a Vita version of P5 will come out later, but in the same manner that the PSP version of P3 and the Vita version of P4 came out: as ports a few years later.

    • LynxAmali

      No, it’s not actually.

All of the Persona games debuted on consoles first and got ports down the line. (In 1 and 2’s case though, YEARS down the line.)

If they keep up that pattern, it’d most likely be PS3 as Persona is usually on Sony consoles.

    • no, they already stated that it would be for HD consoles, as Catherine was somewhat of a “test” game for them.

      • LightZero

They haven’t stated anything. The 3DS does have an unannounced Persona title. We know the unannounced Devil Survivor and SMT turn out to be Overclocked and SMT4. So there is a decent chance P5 could appear on the 3DS. Unfortunately, Persona (or rather P3/P4 not P1/P2) is the only megaten series most people care about so it just as likely to be on the PS3/360 since it’s more likely to sell better than a game like SMT4. It saddens me to even say that.

        • they totally did a really long time ago.

          • LightZero

The only thing they mention is that it will be using a new engine instead of reusing Catherine’s. They never specifically said it would be on a console. It could very happen but there has been no official word yet.

        • Domii

Not to start anything here, but don’t you rather have P5 on the big screen and give the gaming gods at Atlus a better chance of making as much money as possible? Having P5 on HD platforms will do just that being that there’s a bigger intall base there.

          • LightZero

Actually P5 would probably be better for Atlus business wise. HD games aren’t exactly cheap. That is why most jrpg developers migrated to the handheld systems. That and it’s more popular in Japan. Although P5 is probably most likely megaten to be on a home console since it’s more well known to non-megaten fans.

          • Domii

Although you might be right about P5 development being cheaper on the 3Ds. The return in profits on hd consoles will be much higher being that Persona is already an established franchise unlike many jrpgs that have release recently. Plus its historically been on consoles first, and with the Catherine experiment going well for Atlus, I truly can’t see them going any other route.

        • P5 is going to be for the HD systems.

          • LightZero

I’m not saying it’s unlikely. In fact it’s very much likely to happen but they never said anything about what system it will be on yet.

          • What they have said is that titles that are aimed at both Japan and the overseas market will be multiplatform across 360 and PS3. P5 is most certainly one such title.

        • Ninten

I kinda believe that announced Persona title eventually changed into Soul Hackers 3DS.

          • LightZero

The jury is out on that one. I guess we have to wait and see what happens.

          • sakahagi

I second your thought. But if Atlus is still working on something that is Persona related it could be SMT: if… that basically is prequel for first game in Persona series. It would be nice to have remake of this game and 3DS is ideal system for that. Also it’s more possible that we get remake of SMT: if than SMT 1 or 2.

  • Jirin

If they’re going with the year cycle again they really need to rehaul the social link system.

    1)  They ABSOLUTELY shouldn’t make the dungeon exploration time in the same time period you get for social links.  You shouldn’t have to sacrifice social link time to go to the dungeon like in P4.

    2)  They really need to work on giving you more control over the social interaction.  Why aren’t any of my friends friends with each other?  Why can’t I call them up and invite them to hang out on the weekend?  I take such a huge interest in their personal life how come they never ask questions about mine?

Social links should feel more like real friendships and less just like some tokenized collection item.

    • Nemesis_Dawn

I think the social/dungeon balance is part of what makes the game what it is. Having to choose between one or the other is one of my favorite parts of the game. Separating them would remove a lot of what makes Persona so special.

      • skugga2k

Agreed, it would be quite easy and boring otherwise.

      • Locklear93

Agreed.  It’s basically the entire point of Persona 3 and 4.  When you sign the contract at the start of Persona 3, you’re warned that you’ll have to accept the consequences of your choices.  Persona 4 made use of the Latin phrase, “memento mori,” which IIRC they explained in something that while it translates to “remember your mortality,” the notion they wanted to convey was that you can’t do everything–you’re only a man.

        • personablaze

          Memento mori is from P3…..

          • Locklear93

Oh?  Bleh, must’ve gotten it wrong then.  Regardless, the point remains; the series is all about deciding what your priorities are and pursuing them.

    • Koulamatata

I agree. I didn’t like having to do one or the other. But because of the setup in P4, it was a necessarily evil.
They weren’t going out at midnight to explore like the p3 cast, so they had to prioritize time a little more.

But i’d like to see that go away for 5. I didn’t like having to choose.

      • Nemesis_Dawn

But don’t you think if they took that away having to make that choice, it’d be just like every other JRPG out there?

        • It doesn’t necessarily have to do things ‘differently’, what’s important is that it does things well.

          • Nemesis_Dawn

But that’s the whole point. It DOES what it does well. Having to make the choice between social and dungeon life is a huge part of the appeal of the game and one of my favorite parts.

        • Koulamatata

Persona 3 wasn’t making you choose like that, and it really wasn’t like any other JRPG out there.
So no, I don’t think that would make it similar to anything else.

    • EverEndingStory

I highly disagree with the first one. Having that palpable tension is one of the things that makes the flow of time so realistic, and makes the Persona games engaging. This isn’t like Skyrim or Grand Theft Auto where everything in the world just sits around and waits for you. With every action time moves on and you miss things, just like in the real world. So if you want to see everything, you have to manage your time wisely. If anything I would say they should aim to increase this tension.

I agree with your second point though.

  • Crimson_Cloud

One cannot simply make Persona 5 so suddenly. :p
I will make myself clear, though, I WANT SOCIAL LINK ENDING!

  •  Huh. To be honest I hope they make the Social Links less boring with mini games or something. Thats my only gripe…Oh, a maybe it could take place in college? dunno why, but I’m kinda hankering for an older cast.

    • AceWildCard

Make it like the God of war mini game when you max out a social link…

    • LightZero

Most likely the social links aren’t returning. P5 will be what P3 was to P1/P2 apparently. I certainly hope that is truly the case because I’m tired of social links. I rather the cast be in their mid 20s and up to give the series a break from the cliche teenage hero.

      • I would love something akin to P1/P2. Although they say it’s going to be completely different than P3/P4, I have a sinking feeling they’ll play it safe and include a social link system to appeal to western fans.

Not that I’m against the social link system. I liked P3 a lot (wasn’t thrilled by P4), I’d personally just like something different.

Either way, I’d still buy P5 day one.

        • LightZero

I like P3 and P4 as well but I prefer the style of P1/P2 more. Social links loses it novelty after the first 1-2 play throughs. Not to mention most of the social links aren’t that interesting. It mainly consist of people whining about unimportant stuff. You can’t even answer the way you want to either if you want to finish the social links. I think it was a good concept but it had bad execution. If it did return in P5 I would still get the game but I would prefer that it doesn’t return.

  • Koulamatata

I want to see those sketches!

I would also love to see  either an older cast this time around and/or a few returning characters. I’d love to see Junpei and Fuuka be main characters with the new cast. Or even Ken and Chie or something.

Or not. Either way, i’m fine. Just let me see something on this game!

    • I would like the cast be college aged, and have a much more diverse social set and responsibilities.

  • Alphabet Soup

(sits behind a faux executive desk) Look here, Hashino, we’ve been hearing about Persona 5 since 2009…now you bring me some actual photographic proof that this game IS underway, or I’m firing you and replacing you with Shigeru Miyamoto!  MWAHAHAHAHA! (evil executive laugh)

Oh, and bring pie charts about how much money this game is going to make me! Lots of pie charts! …mmm….pie…

    • sakahagi

Atlus never reveal indepth info about next Megaten games until they are about 60% complete. So expect detailed info approximately half year before release date. IMO it’s very good method because it prevent such radiculous situations like that with FF Versus XIII when SE announced game before they even had concept for it. Thanks to that Atlus games never go development hell.

      • Alphabet Soup

You make a good point about Versus XIII.  All right, I will wait this one out! :)

  • amagidyne

Awesome. Can’t wait for some info.

  • Idc what anyone else thinks about me saying this, but i really hope that in this game, players will have a better choice on who they can be in a relationship with. and by that, i mean, i would like male as well as female options. first of all, since im gay, id like to be able to play the MC as me, and sometimes(like in p3), none of the girls were really good enuogh for my character. lol. maybe elizabeth, but she was just a one night stand.

    • Role-playing games you take on a new role, not necessarily your own role.

      • true, but that is in respect to the story line. the dating aspect isnt even a game changing one, especially since the only thing that happens is blushing, dates, and text to read. Its not like the characters have heterosexual stamped on their foreheads.

        • Sean Kearney

Well, no, they don’t. Kanji clearly demonstrated that P4. Honestly, I wouldn’t fret over this. If one thing’s becoming clearer and clearer its that devs are allowing more free reign on sexual preference in their games. Atlus isn’t immune to that craze and, honestly, they might sell a few more copies if they allowed fangirls to ship the MC and one of their favorite male characters.

  • ZBaksh386

cant wait to see what P5 is like

  • Corey Letcher

well if they go the route and without mentioning any spoilers, P4A leaves a ton of potential for either its own sequel or Persona 5 story wise

    • sakahagi

I haven’t played P4A yet but I wil say, no more sequels to sequels. Atlus is milking Persona 3/4 recently so it would be nice to have new set of characters and new setting. Main Persona games should remain as much independent as possible. So no Minato or Yu although there can be story references like between SMT: if, Persona 1 and Persona 2.

      • Corey Letcher

agreed whole heartedly, we don’t need Atlus turning into another SquareEnix after all.  But P4A does do the whole open ended ending so its definitely a possibility.

        • sakahagi

I hope that Atlus will never became second SE. I confess that I’m a bit worried with all that milking. But as long as they will combine commercial side with gameplay and good storyline it should be ok. For this moment it seems that they are aware of it and that they learned on mistakes of such developers as SE or Namco. SMT IV will show us more about direction in which they are heading.

          • Rogerrmark

I confess that I fail to see Squareenix milking it’s franchises. On Final Fantasy at least…most of the games are somehow a new experience. Probably would include Capcom or Namco on the milking list, though.

  • Farid Belkacemi

Stop teasing and show us these sweet sketches from Soejima please ! :D

    • TheFoolArcana

They can take their sweet time; we just got P4A, and we’re getting P4G and P4Animation.

      I can wait.

      • sakahagi

I hope that we will get remake of Persona 2 EP before release of P5. It would be nice to have all P1 – P3 games on PSP. There is still chance if Sony (that want to promote only Vita now) won’t block it like they did with PSP Devil Summoner and PS1 Soul Hackers.

  • Domii

About damn time. I’m just wondering on what system it’ll be.

    • PS3 or 4? Would be my guess.

      • Domii

Yeah I think so too, although it can also be on the Vita as well.

        • Maybe. Though they usually wait a little while.

    • LightZero

PS3/360, 3DS, or Vita. It depends on what Atlus deem to be the safest bet for this game.

      • Domii

I’m guessing they’ll keep it on Sony platforms, but who knows.

        • LightZero

Not necessarily. Catherine and P4A are on the 360 as well. Plus the main SMT titles went from Nintendo to Sony to Nintendo again. So anything is possible.

  • It seems I was mistaken in an earlier post. Now THIS is the best news I’ve heard all day! I can’t wait! =^_^=

  • I just hope we get out of highschool. How about we explore the trials and tribulations of college life, eh!?

  • Lunar_Outcast

No fucking support characters like Rise and Fuuka.

None of that. They’re useless and annoying. Also throw in an adult cast like in Catherine.

    • LazuliteLiamz

I played the Japanese version of P4 on PS2 and listening to Rie’s voice during battles is lovely xD
Although I have to admit, it does get annoying over time, especially when you’re just slaying through those small shadows one after another >_<

  • Settsuo

If Catherine is anything of an indicator besides being devilishly fun, I assume Atlus wanted to test the waters of an older more mature style of gaming. So here’s hoping we can see more of that in the future.

    • This makes me very happy.  Fingers freakin crossed.

  • Oltheros

I would kill for those Soejima sketches.

  • AuraGuyChris

The new protagonist should totally be a girl.

Or have a Persona 3 PSP option, if that’s possible.

  • Nicolas Vasquez

at this pace im starting to think that P5 might not come to the PS3, and this was one of the 2 games i bought it for.

    • Persona 4 came out on the PS2 almost 2 years after the PS3 was released.  Catherine, the first major in house next gen game developed by Atlus, was released almost 5 years after the PS3 came out.

  • LazuliteLiamz

I can’t be bothered on which platform is P5 gonna be released on. Whichever it is, I’m gonna buy that platform (if I didn’t have it already). And if Atlus decided to go multi-platform release, whichever get it first gonna be my choice. I’m just that eager to get my hand on P5!

  • Isn’t this more r else exactly what was said about Persona 5 in Famitsu this time last year? I’m glad to see they’ve made some real progress, maybe next year we’ll get character silhouettes

  • Goooood, goooooood!

Honestly though, this is gonna be massive when it comes out.  I can’t freakin’ wait.

  • Abhishek Posooa

    Please,make P5 on Vita too!

    • Daru Titor

I’m not sure if they’d do it or not.
The last portable remakes were from PS1/PS2 games.
Not only that, but P2 IS was only localized here for the PSP,
which definitely helped sales(it beats trying to find the PS title).
A PS3 game ported to the Vita might not sell so well.

      • Abhishek Posooa

        Don’t want a port,want a game on both consoles.

  • Unlimax

Just let it stay Exclusive on the PS3 !

    • LightZero

It won’t be. This isn’t the PS2 era. The PS3 isn’t even half as popular not to mention it’s better for most third parties to go the multi-plat route. That won’t be changing next gen either unless one of the three systems get to the PS2 level.

    • Luna Kazemaru

I had to Lol because 1. you are breaking the rules and 2. its not going to be.

      • Unlimax

        “I had to Lol because”

What’s funny about that , Are you High or something ? WAI- 2086 comments , 5266 likes  .. nevermind let’s head to your “speech”

” 1. you are breaking the rules”

I’m sorry … WHAT !? .. This is a personal opinion .. What prevents me from saying that being said is a “PS3” !?
just because you are a “360 owner” doesn’t make you judge on anyone else on how thier opinions are wrong or something .. I respect the views of those who responded to .. But since you add rules to your mood really bother me
I’m 100% not acting like a fanboy .. i’m just saying that because i read a poll before since 2009 talks about P5 Being Exclusive on PS3 and that’s what i’m hoping for .. That’s all!

“2. its not going to be.” …. What if this happening , Do i broke your rules ?

        • M’iau M’iaut

We do ask that console requests/comments be kept elsewhere. They just lead places that aren’t the best.

It would be very hard for a title that when it releases will be as close to a AAA title that our niche gets to be an exclusive in this market. Catherine was very successful on both platforms and the speed at which P4A 360 was patched makes me believe they are quite aware of the importance of both systems.

          • Unlimax

As an moderator. I do respect and appreciation and I agree on all the sofas that you have said previously .

        • Luna Kazemaru

‘just because you are a “360 owner” doesn’t make you judge on anyone else on how thier opinions are wrong or something’

Sorry now I had to laugh harder seeing as how I own more then just a 360 and play games on my ps3 more then anything. 1)You WHERE breaking the rules if you look how people have been banned or warned from repeat posting with comments like that you would know this. 2. It not why? Look at Catherine and P4A on both systems. Next time don’t come at me assuming you know what my personal preference on a matter is ok just because I’m not blind to what I’m seeing.

    • Domii

See what you started? Now you got guys below me acting like Nostradamus.

    • Judging from Catherine and Persona 4 Arena you will not get your wish. You so evil. Share the love! Xbox 360 and PS3 users together enjoying the greatness of Persona 5.

  • Maybe these are the fabled Persona 5 character sketches Soejima handed in.

    Or…maybe not?

  • Ninten

Oh, this might be only me, but bring back the dungeons with the traps and such!

P4 had like the WORST dungeon (although they looked cool, think about the retro one) designs in the MegaTen franchise.

    • OneOkami

I’d argue Tartarus is far more bland and monotonous.

      • I’d argue that they’re both crap.

  • klkAlexar

Kinda wanted another character designer for P5, just to see something different. And I’m a bit tired of the characters from P3/P4 so I don’t want a sequel. Something completely different but still good, please.

  • thundergodCN

Still what other myths can they use for the main character’s personas.
    persona 2- Greek gods
    persona 3- Olympic gods
    persona 4- Japanese gods
    persona 5-

    • Raharu95

      Aztec Gods?

      • elvergudo666

no thank you aztecs where douchbags an more fanatics than islamic terrorist

        • Raharu95

Errr…. First, I am not Aztec. Second, I was just giving a suggestion. Third, were does your comment come from?

          • elvergudo666

    • Anon-non

indian or chinese would be so badass.

      • AnimusVox

I’d like Hindu mythology but than again DDS used that premise so who knows.

    • Loukas Stamatakis

well olympic gods are the 12 main greek gods

    • Daru Titor

      Aren’t Olympians the Greek gods?
I know Hades is Greek(Pluto is his roman name).
Vulcanus is the roman form of Hephaestus, etc.

They could do Norse deities next(like Loki).

  • MCoelho

I would kill soooo many people for those sketches!

Both male and female options please, and PLEASE, improve the social links.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

This is going to be one hell of work for them there lol considering Persona fans is going to have a very high expetation for the game there lol.

Hope they are going to be able to create another great game like P3 and P4 which tooks lots of hours from me lol.^_^

    • sakahagi

I’d love if P5 was more dark and mature like some mix of Persona 1 -2 and Catherine. Fan made concept of a P5 was very nice.

  • personablaze

Man I am Really gonna die from hype,First BB chrono phantasma gets Annouced,Then P4A comes out(An It is Awesome BTW),Now this…….Anyone else feel like the happiest gamer in the world :D.

  • Katsura Hoshino is a SHE by the way, she’s the author/manga artist of D.Gray-man.

    • Tales_of_Master

Seriously ? What’s the author of DGM doing in Atlus ?

      • nothing956

Holy crap talk about similar name’s Katsura Hoshino is the author of D.Gray-man Katsura Hashino is the producer of the persona series the only difference in their name is that the persona producer’s last name is spelt with an “a” instead of an “o”.
