Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission Is In The "Cards" For Nintendo 3DS

Namco Bandai is working on a Dragon Ball game for Nintendo 3DS, but this isn’t a fighting game or an RPG. Jump revealed a card game called Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission.

Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission is described as a port of the Japan-only online card game Dragon Ball Heroes. The 3DS version will have additional content. Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission will have over 200 characters and 800 different cards. Players pull five cards out of their deck and battle each other in the game. StreePass is supported and can be used to get extra cards.

Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission is slated for release in spring 2013.

  • YES YES YES YES YES YES, finally it’s coming to a game console and more importantly to the U.S.!

    • GotoHell

Hate to burst your bubble, but nobody said this was coming to the US. Just because it’s a Dragon Ball game doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed to be localized. Just take a look at Ultimate Butoden.

Isn’t that only DBZ game not localized? I was looking forward to it… it’s on the DS, right?

Anyway, DBZ sells like hotcakes in the US and it’s going on the 3DS which has a good chance, but let’s wait and see! I really like to see this game get localized!

  • Tales_of_Master

I’m not sure how this is gonna turn out, but I would’ve preferred a proper RPG title.

  • LittleMofreaky

Sounds sweet, but there’s no way this will see a NA release ever. :(

  • Mildra

If nothing else, it’ll probably be less cluttered than the DBZ card game that IS available in the states (which I like, admittedly).

  • Theofratus ‘Geese’ Lester

If this game has an openin’ scenery, watch them take scenes from there and still claim that “Dragon Ball Hoshi” still exists…

  • If it’s like Legendary Super Warriors on the GBC then I might buy it if it ever comes out in the US.

    • Christopher Nunes

I LOVED Legendary Super Warriros for the GBC! ^_^
Trying to make a Flash Game like it using the same art style and re-creating the battle system, but improving it with Beam Struggles, Online Play, Rush Clash, and a Character Creation mode to import sprites you made for your character (using the game’s Template) and creating special moves using a point system.

Still working out on the Character Creation mode using sprites… which is tricky. I want the players to have freedom with it, so I guess two types of templates with picking parts to be put on the character for one template and the other being one where you sprite it yourself (through Photo Editing programs).

I’m also going with a Tournament Mode and Story Mode (the story takes place in a fantasy world where you pick to be a Human (Balance), Wolf Tengu (Speed), Oni (Power), or an Elf (Energy) as the Protagonist and have a gender option for both male and female) that spans over 30 chapters, each “arc” with a different villain based on a race. I might go for 40 chapters because the game’s story starts with a martial arts tournament and ends with it after everything is over. Also each race has a “transformation form” being; Super Human (Gold Hair = Male, Silver Platinum Hair = Female, Red Eyes, Markings), Feral Tengu (Darker-Skin tone, White Eyes, Markings), Shin Oni (Red-Skin = Female, Blue-Skin = Male), Faerie Elf (gains transparent angelic pixie wings and markings).

Sheesh, look at me going ranting about my game idea I like to work on and finish!

      • Give me the link to it after finishing ‘_’

        • Christopher Nunes

I only got the Male and Female Human sprites mostly done, haven’t start on the others, and I need to change the Female one’s as I rather not have them share the same pose… to make them unique.

Here’s a link of what I’ve gotten together so far:

I haven’t updated in months until I get everything organized a bit better with the characters and game system.

Check out my Ultimate Tenkaichi Warriors project, based on LSW:

It’s out-of-date at the moment since I haven’t updated in months until I’ve gotten everything straighten out and the basic main characters done.

  • Christopher Nunes

Wow! This sounds awesome! I really like to see this when it’s done! I love DBZ and this seems to be another excellent addition to the series… hopefully we’ll see a localized version of it, the closest we’ll ever get to the Card Game in the US.

    • Hopefully …I want to play it in ENG

  • Wow a new DBZ card game ? 800 card? not too much but for that depend on how the game play of it ,,,
Yu-Gi-Oh has +4000 card and it’s almost same interesting as Digimon Card Battle (PSX) that has 300 cards
