Hey, look at all the not legend of dragoon. I’ll probably stick to actual vita games, what with Project Diva and all.

  • MrSirFeatherFang

Actually I’m playing Suikoden right now. (I live in the US)
I bought it (on my PS3), but never played it :(

  • RmanX1000

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? you get FF5-9 in ONE DAY? FFFFUUUU…

  • neo_firenze

Anyway, glad I don’t care about playing PS1 games on my Vita.  I’ll conserve valuable memory card space and continue to use my trusty PSP as the PSOne Classics machine.  Not that FFVII and Wild Arms alone would really take up tons of my space…

  • Kevadu

They’re clearly trying to drum up game sales in the US by highlighting just a few at a time, but releasing more every week.  It obviously isn’t a technical problem.

It’s still pretty dumb, though.  And as many people have pointed out, you can download games on your PS3 and copy them over.  This is just what’s on the Vita store.

  • PoweredByHentai

The firmware update is already live.  I downloaded and installed the update about 3 hours ago.

    • I guess me do the same, have a couple of PSX games I want to play on my vita.

  • Lazulis

Whoa, is that EU list loooong! I just kept scrolling~.

  • Peace Legacy

    “Cho Aniki”
…wait…what? Am I missing something here?

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

Sweet jesus that is a massive difference in content…

  • omeganeko

Just woke up….. TIME TO DOWNLOAD!

  • konsama

Hm what the EU list is huuuuge.

  • That North American list is nothing short of embarrassing. I don’t know what they are trying to pull, but I’ve had it with Sony’s atrocious Vita support. If it weren’t for Persona this fall I’d chuck it out the nearest window. Sure there will be a decent game library, years from now. When newer and cheaper models are available. This was the first time ever in my 20 years of gaming that I was dumb enough to buy a system at launch and it won’t be a mistake I ever make again.

  • Stranger On The Road

now can Sony start working on PS2 emulator for the PS3/PS Vita? I haven’t played FF X – XII and I really really want to play them :-(

    • Go2hell66

i don’t think there will ever be a ps2 emulator for ps vita, i’m sure there will be plenty of ps2 ports but actual emulation is just too technical for the system, they can’t even do it right on ps3

    • Barrit

Same here! I did own a PS2 and I actually own all those games, but I was sucked into the addicting world of MMOs that whole era. Now that I have a PS3, I just don’t want to play PS2 games on my HD TV lol. I remember there being mention of an HD FFX… haven’t heard anything for a longgg time though.

  • Ava1on

This list is incomplete.  All of these games are available if you have a ps3:

    • I can confirm this is completely real! I have to wonder why Sony is trying to mislead? Oh well, I’m working on downloading the installers for the games I want– I’ve gotten FFVII, Symphony of the Night, Wild Arms, Arc the Lad, and Alundra ready right now, and I’ll have more download in the night.

      • malek86

They are misleading nobody. If you don’t have a PS3 (and they can’t simply assume that everyone with a PSV has a PS3 too), I guess those games are effectively the only ones compatible.

If anything, it would have been much more misleading if they had said “all these titles are available!” and then in small font “nb. you need a PS3“.

        • Admittedly, that would be ridiculous, but I wonder what the issue is with making all of these games available in the Vita store today.

Maybe they are trying to give more focus to individual games, sure, but it’s a kick in the teeth for people who were waiting long enough for this to get released, regardless.

Sure makes me glad I own a PS3.

  • Godmars

The US list isn’t even a fraction of what EU can play.

    What the deuce?!

  • d19xx

    *Looks at North American list*

  • LustEnvy

That list needs to be updated. Here’s a US list… since people don’t like to click links, here’s the list Ava1on posted: (I personally confirmed Castlevania: SOTN, FFVIII, IX, Xenogears, Parasite Eve, UmJammer Lammy to be working)… ALSO, make sure the games are in pre-installed mode (meaning the bubble for the game on the ps3 before you install it).

    • I don’t understand why they did that pre-install mode.  It forced me to redownload everything I had on my PS3 in the way of PSone and PS2 Classics (in the event those become playable on Vita) as well as PSP games.

  • Pretty much most of the games I wanted to download are available, nice!

Now I just need Legend of Mana, Grandia, the three Spyro games, and Tomba to get enabled. Then I’ll be very pleased.

  • Learii

why europe have so much and NA only have 9 games?

    • LustEnvy

Did you not read my comment right below yours? There’s MANY games out. They just haven’t updated the list.

      • d19xx

You need a PS3 for most of the games you listed…

      • Learii

        oh i guess i didn’t

      • Jason Ryer

nope there’s 7 online on vitas psn thats exactly whats up for sell not whats active.i believe this is also the list for the download man. in psn store which is weird cause i got mega man as well as ff 7 and hot shots so ill be good until ff 8 drops.

  • Herok♞

Sad no chrono cross, oh well I will finally play FF7.

  • malek86

This is a pretty poor showing by Sony. The fact that you can transfer more games via PS3 means nothing – if they are working via PS3, they should also make them available for download. Not everyone is gonna have a PS3 too.

  • Yamaneko22

Now that’s a nice list :D Hope that gems like Chrono Cross and Suikoden II will be added soon too.

  • XiaomuArisu

Is my EU compenating for something?XD

  • CirnoLakes

Wait, you mean you can’t get them from from the PSN for the Vita? That’s no fun. The fun of games with the Vita is that you can just click a button and download.

Not plug this thing here and plug that doohickey over there and gosh darn it, that thing wasn’t plugged it.

    • Locklear93

I’m not quite sure to what you’re referring, since the article doesn’t mention hooking things up, and your comment is showing as top level (not a reply) for me, but if you mean having to hook up the Vita to a PS3, and get a game on the PS3, then transfer to the Vita–yeah, it’s a pain. I’ve had to do that with a couple of PSP games for my Vita.  It gets them on the thing before Sony gets them into the Vita PSP store.  It’s ridiculous.

    • Jason Ryer

you get them from the download list as they become active or off your ps3. the sad part is mine locks up during transfer process or id be playing ff ix.

  • said it before, say it again, i don`t get the hype.
i love my PS one nostalgia as much as the next person.

but to cramp a 4:3 game on a 16:9 screen just for nostalgia..i don`t get it.

PS2 classics, that would be something worth making a big deal about, that would be something “new”, compared to the PSP.

  • Barrit

At first I was like wtf?? but I read most of the comments.

Geez, if that’s all that worked for the US.. I was about to say our US division must be extremely lazy lol.

  • Hinataharem

I dunno if this is true, but I heard that this update locks accounts to one card.
