Well we already knew this but further confirmaton doesn’t hurt i guess. Can’t wait for the first trailer.

  • Well Xenoblade made me go back to my full of dust Wii that time, so if they can pull out another grand game like that, I’d be willing to get a WiiU.
    Monolithsoft <3

    • badmoogle

This is also my most awaited WiiU game (so far).

  • Lightthrower

    Now we’re talking!

  • riceisnice

Now that Monolith Soft is officially paired up with Nintendo, let’s hope they don’t suffer those budget cuts anymore.

  • Whatever this game is please announce it for worldwide release!!!

  • KingGunblader

“This will be a new title not tied to an existing series.”

Well that kills hopes of a new Baten Kaitos title. It doesn’t matter though, I’m excited for whatever they have in store.

  • Blur Will

    I want something for 3DS too  T_T

    • Jonatas Forevamente

The WHOLE YEAR was about good news for the 3DS ¬¬

  • $30632660

I don’t know anything about this game and it’s already my most anticipated Wii U game lol

  • seraphinw1

    Day 1. I love Monolithsoft.

    • Budgiecat

      But will Reggie like it?

      • puchinri

Didn’t he like something else of their’s? And I’m sure he will. And that he will support it.
        I AM CERTAIN. D'<

        • Protos Omega

You know Disaster: Day of Crisis was made by Monolith Soft, and was rejected by Reggie because he didn’t like it…

          • puchinri

            Did he actually say he didn’t like it? ouo;
(Although I’ve heard interesting, disappointing stuff about the game.)

  • isfuturebright

    Love Monolithsoft :)

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Lol, they don’t even need any trailer. Just that WII U logo plus Monolith Soft is already enough to make come lol.^_^

  • Darkrise

    I doubt I’ll have a Wii-U by then, but I’m still interested!

DAMMIT. Dont you DARE make me buy a WiiU Monolith!

    • Silver Citizen

Well, it’s not like they can make their games for anything else.

      • Solomon_Kano

  • Izzy Miyake

Xenoblade team is in? Yes please.

    There goes my vacation money.

  • Farid Belkacemi

So in other words… No Baten Kaitos 3. Is it for 3DS then ? :p

    • LightZero

I wonder the same thing. I would be happy with a BK3 for the 3DS though.

      • Monolith has two teams if I remember correctly : one working on Wii U and the other one on 3DS.

I would be happy too if we get a Baten Kaitos 3D ;)

  • E15

Dis is officially now my most anticipated WiiU title and I have no idea what it is or about.

  • eilegz

kinda expected i hope they release it on the west when the wiiu have a decent pricecut to get it…

  • Zeromus321

Well, now I have to get a Wii U.

  • shinychocobot

Sooo.. has it been mentioned yet if the Wii U will be region locked? You know, just in case..
Maybe I shouldn’t worry yet and just be super excited about this news along with everyone else for now!

  • Ace

I hope it’s an RPG that was as good (if not better) than Xenoblade!

  • And just watch, NOA will ignore it too.

    • Equus

I was pretty much thinking the same thing.  I’m still not going to buy a Wii U until I see something like this localized that I actually want.  Call me pessimistic.  :P

    • Anime10121

If they do, I swear, me and Nintendo will seriously have a problem!

    • puchinri

Except they didn’t ignore Xenoblade, anyway?

But lets hope we see this title earlier, and thus, sooner for other regions.

  • Jirin

MonolithSoft:  If you promise you will actually be able to control your party in this one it will make me buy the Wii U.

  • Solomon_Kano

New Monolith Soft IP? On new hardware? I keep forgetting that we’ve never seen an HD Monolith Soft game. Good lord, it shall be glorious!

  • Alexander Aubert

this will be worth to wait (my wallet…..)

  • Anime10121

I WILL have a WiiU! Bayonetta 2, the Wonderful 101, AND a new game developed by Takahashi and the Xenoblade team!  I cannot get more HYPE!

    • Solomon_Kano

Man, and to think TGS isn’t even here yet. I’d imagine that Ninty didn’t want any new 3rd-party Wii U game announcements to preempt today’s event, so we could get even more next week! Excite!

      • Anime10121

Man if you’re right, and even MOAR is announced next week at TGS, I dont think my heart could take it!  These announcements today, have completely justified WiiU completely to me.  I was on edge at first, because all I wanted was P-100 (The Wonderful 101), but after today, there are games like Tekken, that I never even thought I wanted, that I want BAD!  This system has went from a maybe to a DEFINITE in a few short hours!

I’m having a REALLY good feeling that this system will be PS2 level in terms of Third Party support/exclusives in the future.  Considering this system is close in power to current gen consoles, Japanese devs will be able to use what they know from the current gen and apply it even better here!  Cant wait now to see what the future holds for this system! :D

        • Solomon_Kano

Yea, this actually seems pretty good since there are so many devs that skipped out on this gen for portables. Now that the last batch of portables are pretty much dead (this is most likely the PSP’s last year), those devs have to move to 3DS and Vita and/or the new consoles. If they move to the new consoles, the Wii U is in a perfect position to keep them from immediately breaking the bank since I’d imagine its lower power will make it the (relatively) cheaper choice. Though probably still not cheaper than 3DS or Vita, it would hopefully mean the return of some missing links to the console space. Like say… Suikoden and Shinobi and Contra and Mega Man and…

But I really hope we see more next week. Bayonetta 2, The Wonderful 101, MH3 Ultimate, Monolith’s new game, and Smash Bros. have convinced me that I need a Wii U. I won’t get one day one, but I’m definitely willing to snag one by year’s end. If TGS sees even more awesomeness, that probably will get bumped to day one.

          • Anime10121

Yep, probably not buying mine til tW101 comes out, but still, when I do get one, I’ll probably pick up Tekken and Batman too, and maybe even Ninja Gaiden (to play Ayane’s part, because I still dont think they can fix Hayabusa’s)!  I also hope you’re right about some of those missing series making triumphant returns on WiiU:D

This console is looking to have a REALLY good future!

          • Solomon_Kano

I already got Arkham City for PS3, so I saw no appeal in the Wii U version. Tekken didn’t really do anything to make me want it on Wii U either, so I’m gonna get that one on PS3. Don’t do it on NG3 man, don’t do it lol. Ayane can’t save it.

          • Anime10121

I rented Arkham City, but never finished it, so I’d be picking it up for the first time on WiiU.  On Tekken, I’m not the biggest fan, actually the only ones I ever REALLY liked were 3 and 5, but the whole mushroom thing is what got me excited about the WiiU version (dont care at all about the costumes, as I dont care about the characters the costumes represent anymore), the shrooms thing looks really fun.

On NG 3, again not the biggest fan, as I’ve only really liked Sigma 2.  From what I played of 3 (the demo), it sucks SO bad that I wanted to rip the download from ever being inside my system and flush its existence from my mind.  But Ayane’s gameplay at least looks fun, which is more than I can say for Hayabusa’s when I watch the trailers with his gameplay (NG3 looked like it would suck, even from the trailers).

          • Solomon_Kano

I loved Tekken Tag, so I’m obligated to get 2. The Wii U version just doesn’t really have anything over the others to me. The mushroom thing was really cool though lol.

As for NG3, nooooo lol. Not even Ayane can save that atrocious gameplay. I couldn’t even finish the trailer. Unfortunately her gameplay looks to be filled with the same overabundant finishing animations that soured Ryu for me. A pity too, because Ayane’s awesome!

          • Testsubject909

As the news are trickling in, the Wii U is turning more into a definitive purchase… at a later date. Again, I won’t be able to get the money in time to consider a day 1 purchase, and the opening line-up to date isn’t enough to get me going. Plus unlike other hardware, for some reason I have zero hype to push me forward, so I’m probably sticking to my original plans.

That is, support the games I know I’ll want to have in my library of Wii U games (similar to how I’ve purchased some Gamecube and Wii games), and just eventually buy the Wii U during it’s first or second year running. That’s my predictions for how I’ll be approaching the Wii U.

          • Solomon_Kano

Yea, if not for a number of Wii games I’ve wanted to play for ages, The Wonderful 101, and Scribblenauts Unlimited I’d probably do the same. As it stands now, I’m definitely making the plunge this year. Provided I get a job, that is.

      • badmoogle

        I thought i heard Nintendo won’t be at TGS…

        • Solomon_Kano

They’re never at TGS. That doesn’t stop 3rd-parties from announcing games for their hardware is what I’m saying, so we may see some more Wii U games announced.

  • Baten Kaitos 3!!!

    • “This will be a new title not tied to an existing series.”

      Oups ! :D

    • Kris Janssens

yes please ! also a remake of the original baten kaitos for Wii U

  • anarchy_panty

Well, this is good news. I just hope that Takahashi and his team master the concept of pacing this time around.

  • Just hearing monolith soft releasing another game makes the wii u an instant buy for me.

  • Testsubject909

Hmm… I’ll keep an eye out for this.

Xenoblade and Last Story were strong and this can only make things better.

I’m probably not going to buy a Wii considering that the Wii U seems to be backwards compatible. So this really is just more good news for the Wii U. Much stronger, but I’m probably still not going to buy the Wii U day 1. I’ll probably wait till there’s a few more releases and a bit of a price drop…

Tight wallet, what can I say… *sighs and prepares more resumes for applications*

    • Yeah I don’t have a Wii too and I’ll play Xenoblade and Last Story on it. I’ve skipped entire Nintendo console after NES. I just hope this game has English release and we don’t need to pull Operation Rainfall just to convince NOA to release the game.

  • Heartless ㅤ

    Yes. Yes. Yessssssssss.

This has caused so much confusion and turned people off to try Xenoblade. I’ve had to explain it to a few people that Xenoblade has zero relation to Xenogears or Xenosaga LOL just to get them to think about trying out Xenoblade!

    • Ladius

On the other hand, I saw lots of people instantly going in hype mode as soon as the Xeno-rename was announced. Gears and Saga have an extremely loyal fanbase, and I think the Xeno moniker would do far more good than ill to the new game.

    • To the contrary I got interested in it because of the Xeno word.

  • puchinri

This isn’t really new news, but still, WAHOO! I can’t wait to see info about the game.

And I’m really excited and happy that it’s completely new as well.

  • tetsuya takahashi, i love you man, u impresed me with xenogears, xenosaga, xenoblade,…ill be waiiiitttt
