Bravely Default’s Final Four Jobs: Paladin, Devout, Magus, And Dark Knight

By Spencer . October 5, 2012 . 12:32am

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy has four powerful jobs for players to unlock. That’s the good news. The bad news is there are four enemies tied to the Etrania army that have these jobs too. This group of rival characters is led by Edea’s father. Yikes!

The Duchy of Etrania  – Paladin

Paladin – this job has high defense, offensive power, and a brave point boost making it one of the best attacking classes in the game.

Paladins can use Shine Blade to hit enemies with a powerful blast of light and Death Parade, an attack that sums up offensive and defensive power to determine the amount of damage.

Dark Knight – this class isn’t afraid of pain. Dark Knights use their own HP to deal damage!

Rampage gives the Dark Knight a damage boost, but attacks keep consuming HP unitl you only have 1 HP left. Pitch Black saps HP to deal a darkness elemental attack that hits for heavy damage.

Devout – this class of magic users excel in recovery magic and changing attributes to nullify or amply damage. Devouts also have abilities to recover precious BP.

One of the Devout’s abilities grants divine protection from a great spirit, which nullifies attacks on all party members. BP Convert changes MP into BP. This move allows characters to take on more turns in a row.

Magus – masters of black magic and the class with the highest offensive magic power. These warlocks and witches can sentence monsters to death with their spells.

Bury consumes 25% of your MP to deal heavy dark elemental damage. Corpse is an instant death spell.

  • Go2hell66

    oh yea, dark knight!
about time, cuz what else would you be!?

  • zeta

FUUUU that DARK KNIGHT is mking me drool pool like quantity.

  • komiko12

Those Devouts are really good-looking. :D

    • Brian

Half of them are posing. It’s all about the fashion dude, if
TWEWY taught me anything it’s that :P

  • god, I love these designs~

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Jeez, all of their classes have really good designs behind them. Really liking that Dark Knight.

The TGS demo was the same as the last one that they released publicly, right? I’ll have to look up a play video sometime.

  • It just gets better and better.  Using MP as BP?  I wonder how that will work.  That could be broken if limitations aren’t in place.

If not.  Enemies are gonna be put in a combo sandwich.  How delectable!

    • leadintea

Just think how scary it’ll be when the enemy uses it…

    • Exkaiser

Well, remember, the more turns you use with BP, the more downtime you have.

  • Paradox me

Well, Victoria looks awful, but everything else about this game looks the exact opposite. Can’t wait!

  • Hinataharem

    Devout looks awesome!

  • “Final four jobs”, does that mean the game won’t have any more jobs other than the ones which were previously announced?

Gah, no Blue Mages, I knew it :x The most underrated job since the release of FF V in Japan :p

    • There could be more! In the form of DLC linked to extra scenarios, but that’s just wishful thinking on my part.

      •  That’d be swell! I hardly see it happening, but it’s still nice.

    •  um… Blue Mages were op in Final Fantasy XI…

      •  Never played that game. But in every single FF game I played that featured Blue Mages, they were usually awesome. Except for Kimahri in FF X, he was a rather lame Blue Mage. Mostly because his blue magic was used only as limit breaks for some retarded reason.

Same with Quistis but it was easily spammable like every other Limit Break in FF VIII so it’s good :3

  • i’m throwing my money to the screen but nothing is happening =X

  • I am so excited for this game. Square, please announce a localization of this soon! These classes sound really cool and turn my favorite FF classes into something to truly be feared on the field of battle.

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!! Hahahahahahahahaha!!! Victoria looks really cute, and could be one of the most dangerous ones there.

The Dark Knight is going to be one of the more interesting roles with the battle system.

  • Mr_SP

The… “Duchy” of Etrania? That can’t be right. Surely you mean “duke”? A Duchy is a Duke’s fiefdom, not a person.

  • Tom_Phoenix

Speaking as a fan of wizards, mages and other such classes, I’m not exactly thrilled  with the Magus design. They look more like jesters rather than powerful wielders of magic.

Other then that, however, I have no complaints.

    • $30632660

Yeah I know what you mean.I like playing as Mages the most, but this game does a great job at making me not want to play with them.

      • Exkaiser

Well, it’s not like they’re the only magic-casting class.

  • $30632660

The Dark Knight screenshots remind me of Ginyu Force LOL

  • man, I LOVE Job Classes! A shame Paladin, Devout, Magus and Dark Knight aren’t new and exclusive ones…

  • Mr.Bushido

The Dark Knight class reminds me of Kamen Rider

  • leadintea

The Devout looks classy as ****.

  • FFmax

    Take my money Square Enix.

  • Billy Kostyra

    the reason why i bought a 3DS

  • Dark Knight, hell yeah!
