Malicious is coming to PlayStation Vita with extra content. Malicious Rebirth includes the six stages from the PS3 game, new bosses, new character actions, and a brand new Resurrection chapter.

Players clash with the Disaster, a force fueled by tragedy and negative emotions from the war between the four kings. Finally, the forbidden power is released in Malicious Rebirth. This ominous figure gets a massive speed and attack power boost. It fights using fist, sword, and bullet attacks. And if that wasn’t enough, an aura that reduces damage shields the boss. Malicious Rebirth is slated for a fall release as a PlayStation Network download.

These new enemies look awesome. Looking forward to this, but I’ll wait to see if a US release comes. If not I’ll probably just download it from the JP PSN.

The number of new boss with each unique type of attack makes me think that this is Rockman in 3D lol.^_^

I really want to like this game, but so far it just seems to be “Mash Square: The Game.”

There are times in Malicious when the gameplay worked, and it showed a lot of promise, but mostly I thought the developers bit off more than they could chew. Too many rough edges and inconsistencies to be anything more than a curiosity. A tech demo for a team who have ideas but likely need a healthy budget to pull off the smooth, epic combat they wanted. As is, it’s an unsatisfactory mix of mindless Dynasty Warriors crowd control and frustrating bullet sponge bosses, albeit with an interesting arsenal and occasionally slick, empowering movement.

While true I still loved the game, sometimes mindless Dynasty warriors style gameplay works for some games.

  • You may break your controller if you are going for trophies where you have to clear levels without losing health. Honestly, I gave up but it is really a good game.

Man does this ever look gorgeous… I’m just wondering if it’s all worth it. This thing looks like it would make sweet sensual love to my eyeballs, but I’m not getting any wiser on how it is to actually play. All the gameplay I’ve seen makes it look like you fight a boss AND a boss-entourage on every stage, and I have no idea how that works. can someone go the simple and easy route and, say, compare this game to a bunch of other games in terms of control/gameplay so I can get a decent idea of what I’m dealing with here?

  • luckydakk

The visuals are strongly reminiscent of El Shaddai, is the gameplay similar?

Come on Sony, localize this :(
