Bayonetta Joins Anarchy Reigns As A Pre-Order Bonus In Europe

By Ishaan . November 8, 2012 . 2:30pm

Sega have announced an Anarchy Reigns “Day One” Edition for Europe, which will come with bonus content that isn’t in the regular edition of the game. As the name implies, you’ll need to pre-order the game in order to receive this version of it.

The “Day One” edition will include Bayonetta as a playable character, just like in the Japanese version of the game. You can find playable footage of her here and here (along with other characters).

The Day One edition will also have two extra multiplayer modes—Mad Survival and Dogfight. The former has a team of three players going up against a wave of enemies like the regular survival mode, but in Mad Survival, these enemies are the other playable characters in Anarchy Reigns, making it a tougher challenge.

Meanwhile, the latter mode, Dogfight, has players hanging from helicopters and pelting each other with bullets until their opponents drop. An aerial battle, effectively.

The Anarchy Reigns Day One Edition will be available for pre-order for £19.99 / €29.99 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Europe. The game will be released in Europe on January 11th, 2013. Sega have not announced this edition for North America so far.

That’s a little lame they are cutting content from the original game and releasing it as DLC and pre-order bonuses. How does dog fight work? Is it completely different game mechanics as the rest of the game?

    • Alex Sargeant

At the same time though, it is -significantly- cheaper than the Japanese version was. A little over a third of the cost at launch if my math isn’t total garbage.

Really really excited to see people pick this up. It was a lot of fun when I could play it, but the lag between Britain and Japan was kind of excruciating.

      • puchinri

I experienced mad lag during the demo. I expect it may be harsh playing the game itself too, but still exciting~.

dog fight its like an aerial first person shooter, you shoot a machinegun and missile launchers , you can also use a giant circular chainsaw to cut your enemies or duel against others (only when your energy meter bursts) (then the game takes a third person perspective, like when you hack the choppers in the campaign)

Is this really for Europe? I mean, that advertisement has the American rating, the American release date… Seems a bit counterproductive to me.

Yeah, as odd as that is, it’s only been announced for Europe so far.

  • SirRichard

Kind of dodgy to be specifying content from the original release as pre-order bonuses, but on the other hand there’s no difference in price between the regular version and this one so I can’t really complain.

I find that really odd. Perhaps it has to do with the content of the extra modes? I wasn’t able to get those myself because I got the Japanese ver. a little later (with Bayonetta though!) Hopefully they’ll have the same stuff for the US, but without the need of having to re-pre-order the game. It’s the least they could do to say “sorry” for the delay in my opinion.

lol dat anatomy. Does her anatomy always look that bad? x’D
I don’t remember that. Was ‘Netta already confirmed for NA too? If we don’t get her here, I’m going to have to import I guess. . .

Bayo always had this freakishly long limbs:

I’m pretty sure she would be available in NA. I think the EU version is just announced early.

Not to mention her crazy spinal flexibility. Then again, it’s much what you expect from a pole dancer.

and her peanut head and giraffe neck

          • bernardo cipoteruelo

well yes, its an stylized character, they have long limbs and small heads, like the mannequins from fashion drawings. Also war from darksiders was far more disproportionated and nobody complained.

Actually, a number of people commented on how over-designed War is. I remember Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation describe him as “a coral reef on legs”.

      • puchinri

It isn’t the long limbs, because that’s obvious in the game. It’s the way her spine bends. x’D
        Maybe it was because I was looking at a lot of art material just before that it stood out so painfully blatant this time. ^u^;

“We’ll have more information soon on how fans outside of Europe can get these exclusive items” from their facebook update about this. I still don’t know why they didn’t just put her in the damn game itself. Kind of annoying, but I’ll do whatever it takes to get her.

January 11th. It’s been a long, painful wait but soon, my precious… soon the alarm shall sound, and we shall be together.

  • http://wiredjungle.wordpress.com/ DrakosAmatras

Hm… Hopefully, SEGA would release at least those two modes later for people who missed the pre-order.

  • Klaus00

Hopefully after the international release PG will revise this game with a patch and maybe some more maps , really love this game and hope the online will be more crowded on January 11th :)

I am still mad with Bayonetta 2 being Wii U exclusive…

Try some martial arts controlled breathing techniques

I’m not. But I feel for those who are.

Pre order bonus: Free Wii U

While I can understand the whole Pre-Order Bonus stuff, I still feel kinda bothered that I haven’t bought SoulCalibur 5 on the first day or pre-ordered it.
I’d really like to use that White Knight (golden) armour (<— though, if someone may know more about it. Can you change the armour's colour and/or can you wear pants and a shirt while wearing the armour or will it go away then?) T_T.
It really gives you this feeling of 'Oh god, I have to pre-order fast!' and a feeling of 'Without this, the game won't be truly complete!' That's the kind of feeling you get.
Am I the only one or do others understand the dissatisfaction?

    • bernardo cipoteruelo

eh, you can change the colors and add complements to the armor, but the only thing you can wear under it is…….underwear,no pants..i always use the chainmail as underwear, and of course you can always equip the superior part of the armor and then use pants and stuff like that.

This is cynism at its best : they deny us Bayonetta 2 but they offer us Bayonetta. I will pick this all the same, but Sega and Platinum are being annoying on this.
