Persona 4: Golden Video Blowout: 28 Vids Covering The Game’s Features

By Ishaan . November 9, 2012 . 10:00am

Hope you aren’t tired of Persona 4: Golden videos, because Atlus just released a whole lot more—28, to be precise. They run down various aspects of the game, including everything from dungeons to battles to social links to clubs. Watch them below:

Vox Populi shows what other players did in the same situation you’re in.

Five difficulty settings available at the start.

TV show extras that let you re-watch animated cutscenes and view artwork.

Grow vegetables in your backyard and use them in dungeons.

A new system that lets players help each other.

Persona 4: Golden will be released in North America on November 20th. Europe will see the game in Spring 2013.

Looks good. As a Persona fan I’m not dissapointed. Everything looks so cool. Unfortunately, I’m going to wait until I complete my PS3 collection. Since I’m very poor. Damn, that Vita is so expensive.

    • benhofb

Yeeah… I got the blasted thing at launch for a hefty sum or $313. Game Stop had this deal where they offered the WiFi version with 1 of 3 select launch titles and then a case. Because I like to hoard digital titles, I also threw in a 8GB memory chip (which was $35 alone). Nonetheless, 9 months later, I am quite happy with it. Once the price drops and you complete your PS3 collection, I’m sure you’ll love it.

I think I found my favorite channel.

I’m beary prebeared for it. Bring on the videos.

  • Soo cannot wait ^^ preordered it a while ago, hopefully this Persona game is not region locked… but well see.

    • It’s not, thats been already been stated.

  • My body is ready because today I feel like a purple pikmin.

  • Tales_of_Master

Wish Bandai Namco US would put half this effort into advertising the Tales games -_- On a happier note, can’t wait to get my hand on this on the 20th :D Now I’m convinced that some kind of a cosmic power prevented me from playing past the first 4 hours of P4 back when it first was released on the PS2. Now I’ll get to enjoy the game in all it’s glory for the first time :D Keep up the good work Atlus.

  • Oh great—
    -28 videos.
    -I own no Vita.
-I happen to never HAVE GOTTEN THE CHANCE TO PLAY P4.

    Life is swell.

    • darkfox1

WOW IM IN THE EXACT SITUATION lmao. Welp Christmas hopefully don’t think I can wait until next year

    • natchu96

I was like you, but then again I have a vita now :D

Just need an actual game other than Gravity Rush . . .

      • PoweredByHentai

Ragnarok Odyssey, Assassin’s Creed 3 Liberation, Dokuro, New Little King’s Story.

  • Dahra Langoodi

I pre-ordered the game but I have no Vita until Christmas. It’s gonna be staring at me for so long, I won’t be able to take it!

  • benhofb

Yeah, so I’ve got two really good friends and we are all super pumped for this game. We’re in high school, and already have plans to be “missing” for a week or so. The police report is going to say, “Mysteriously, all three boy’s PlayStation Vitas and 40 dollars had been taken from their homes. The last place they were seen was a local Game Stop”…

  • jebara_92

    The bike chase video…
I’m sorry but I doubt I will ever get used Chie’s new voice.

    • Göran Isacson

I was thinking of a different Fox (the TV network), but I think I like your idea more.

Speaking as someone who just recently started to get into the Shin Megami Tensei series, Persona 4 Golden couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m almost finished with Persona 3 Portable and that game has successfully awoken the “hunger” for similar games in me.

Unfortunately, it also couldn’t have come at a worse time….for preety obvious reasons. Personally, I didn’t have very high hopes for the Vita even when it was announced. But even I didn’t expect for things to go this bad this quickly and, right now, I have very little reason to believe that it’s situation will significantly improve.

To make things worse, even the already released/announced Vita games don’t really interest me (and yes, that includes Gravity Daze and Ragnarok Odyssey). As of this moment, P4G is QUITE LITERALLY the only Vita title I’m interested in, so I don’t currently have much of a reason to buy a Vita.

The result of this is that I find myself facing a rather awkward decision. Either I:

    a) wait and see whether or not Vita will receive any titles that I might be interested so that (if that does happen) I might eventually pick up a Vita and P4G

    b) I buy the original on the PS2 and give up on the only game that is making me interested in the Vita at all.

Of course, I could essentially choose both by buying P4 and then pick up P4G if Vita starts to shape up in the future, but I generally prefer to avoid buying multiple versions of the same game. So yeah…..decisions, decisions….

    EDIT: Edited for clarity.

    • Kefkiroth

Why wouldn’t you buy the Vita version if your second option doesn’t include selling off your Vita?

      • Tom_Phoenix

I think you misunderstood my post. I don’t currently have a Vita and, aside from P4G, I don’t have a reason to buy one. Hence my dilemma of whether I should wait and see if Vita’s situation will improve or whether I should just pick up the original game instead.

        • Kefkiroth

Ah, I see; I mostly just skimmed through the post, so I didn’t see that part. If P4 is really the only thing you had in mind, I wouldn’t be able to give a recommendation on which version to play, as I have never played P4 either.

Personally as I just started getting into SMT like you, and just finished P3P on a Vita (I definitely don’t regret buying it), Golden is a must-buy for me… with all the additions it seems like it will have tons of other content in addition to the base PS2 game.

        • brian yep

I suggest getting P4 now, should be $20, and if you ever get a PSV and want to re-experience this masterpiece with some enhancements, try to get it at around $20 also and voila, you paid probably about like you would have if you’d bought this version right away.

    • tubers

      It’s really a gamble.

It also depends on your personality if you should get it asap. Your excitement for the game might die down a little if you hold on for too long.

Sadly, the most practical thing to do is to wait for at least another title or two that you might really like.

I am still very hesitant on the system because there aren’t any games with presentation such as most SQE PSP games (BBS, FFCC, Dissidia, etc.)

    • Kevin Tan

Get PS2 version to experience P4 at this moment.  Get the Vita and P4G later when there is more of a library for you to experience.

There is absolutely nothing lacking in the amazing masterpiece that is the PS2 version. :)

“wait and see whether or not Vita will receive any titles that I might
be interested so that (if that does happen) I might eventually pick up a
      Vita and P4G”

well it looks like oni-chan is the picky type of gamer ^_^
as you can see the P3P for the psp comes ou lately only in the PSP it was release on NA on July 6 2010 and in EU on april 29 2011

while the VITA gets this amazing P4G on its 1st year here on NA

so I therefore conclude that many more games will be release for the VITA in the coming years that will quench your picky taste ^_^

  • MrJechgo

The only thing I would have love to get is some spoken dialogue for the protagonist. For instance, when you select what to say to someone, he would verbally say that line. In battle, when attacking or using any other action, he would talk a bit more, like the female protagonist in P3 does.

We all know that he talks thanks to P4A and the Animation… and since the game’s an update, I would think that Atlus would have taken cues from games like Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect and Alpha Protocole, all in which the main character talks according to what the player has chosen. That little touch would certainly bring new life to Yu Narukami here.

  • You know, how the heck did they even get the bikes through the TV? How’d they do it without attracting attention? They never say anything about it.

    • I know I’ve said this before but…

The Power Of Bonds! this covers any flaw in Persona’s logic.

(or teddies magic pocket…. and people don’t even notice kanji yelling about murders a foot away from them, so this doesen’t surprise me in the least)

    • Hinataharem

    • Yuu unlimited pocket space.

  • Yup.

    I watched ’em all. I can’t wait!

  • I only have one question to ask: is the live concert still in the TV shows or are they removed?

    • nothing956

I think they said the only thing’s cut from the TV shows were a few ads the couldn’t get the licence for.

  • brian yep

They really should have condensed those into one video, since this browser froze at least 5 times trying to play about 10 of those.
They were perfectly spot on and now they’re not, they’re just satisfactory.
