  • konsama

The set seems decent, lots of PSPo2 stuff. I wonder which suits are they.

    • Triplicity

      It’s these.

      • konsama

thanks for the link, the costumes look so cool.

  • Quite interesting. I wonder how many will pick up this special package over a free download?

    • Xerain

Why not do both? Free Download downloads and installs while you drive to the store / wait for amazon to deliver.

    • I will, I like big packages.

      • Budgiecat

        • LynxAmali

I don’t think that was intentional.

          • Seemed like a good place to sneak a joke in XD

  • Kefkiroth

I’m really hoping for this to hit the West.

  • Brandon001

Do hope this hits the states, another reason to get a vita

  • Otoya

    Yay, english version please come!!!!!!

    • Love your Digimon Avatar!
On-Topic they need to release this game in the states, Vita owners want this on the go! 3G Baby FTW!

  • eilegz

    waiting for american version

  • I… would probably buy that.

  • Budgiecat

Why is it free?? I’m scared….

    • Brandonmkii

It’s free on PC. Don’t know why anybody thought the Vita version would be different.

      • pressstart

Because console (or in this case, handheld).

        • Solomon_Kano

DCUO, Free Realms, and Dust514 are all free to play already on consoles already.

    • PSO2 is a f2p title

    • Sergio Briceño

You can probably expect some Fanta advertisements though.

    • It’s an online-only (free-to-play) MMO with item transactions.

  • Mad.Hype. Can’t wait for the release.

  • This is wonderful news! Now all we need is a localization confirmation for the Vita as well and all will be well. ^_^

  • Muffum

Given that most Japanese developers (and most developers in general, really) are rather averse to Macintosh, I might just have to end up getting a Vita to play this.

(Shame I’m interested in nothing else on the Vita.)

  • Sergio Briceño

The PSP costumes are nice, but I wish the music discs included music from PSO1, it had the best tunes. The original PS series also had good music, but the style is just too different.

Also, please, PLEASE BRING IT OVER SEGA!

Oh, and while you are at it, remake Skies of Arcadia in HD ;)

    • Luna Kazemaru

Pc version is coming over next year don’t know about the vita

    • .

You should also check out PSOIII card battle’s sound track; the IDOLA – the strange fruits- track is quite good.

  • Solomon_Kano

I’m really, really, really hoping Sega localizes the Vita version as well. I wouldn’t even be mad if this was the only option we had on Vita. Wouldn’t at all mind paying once if it meant we saw this localized.

  • Nicholas Gatewood

    Gosh, why’s the special edition so expensive? Oh well, at least the game’s free-to-play. I wouldn’t play any MMO that requires a monthly fee, but then again I’m not too interested in playing F2P games that have such a big focus on trying to convince me to pay up. I’m just not interested in games that are designed to get me to pay more money. ;_;

    • Luna Kazemaru

P2p games are normally better lol anyway its alot because what you are getting in the in the SE that atleast 1k worth of arc cash i think.

  • Guest

I might get the pay for vita thing is it comes over, all that PS:P2 stuff sounds cool

  • i wonder how many gigs this game will be x.x, ill download it anyway

  • ZEROthefirst

I might get another memory card for my Vita so I can log into my Jpn PSN account and play on my PSO2 account… somwhat portably. Only thing I won’t have is the English patch, but it’ll at least hold me off a bit more until PSO2 comes out in the West next year. Hopefully the Vita version get’s localized in the near future too.

    • benhofb

I’m fairly sure that PSO2 was announced for a US release.

      • ZEROthefirst

I said I hope the Vita version gets localized as well down the road. I know PSO2 was announced for release in the West a few months ago.

  • Luna Kazemaru

I still don’t get why everyone wants the vita version over the pc version but meh i guess another game for my vita.

    • sandra10

I prefer playing RPGs on a handheld; if every  console/PC RPG also a had a handheld counterpart, I’d be jumping for joy.

    • saxophone15

From what I have played so far, the game play seems to fit a handheld more. I usually always go for the version that looks the best, but in this case I might like the vita version better. Now I just need to actually get a vita.

    • Probably because their PC can’t handle the game.

      • Luna Kazemaru

why are people still using toasters as PC’s then?

    • Solomon_Kano

My PC can’t even run water, no way it’s running PSO2. That aside, I’m not fond of PC gaming.

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Sadly my laptop will melt if i played this game.T_T Even playing Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu or Total War 2 Shogun is killing my laptop.T_T

Vita will probably be the only way i can play this game.

    • Sergio Briceño

I don’t have any favorites. I’m obviously going to get more immersed and dedicate a lot more time to the PC version. But the idea of a PSO on the go is so great I can’t just not get it. So I’m getting both.

  • Fr33Kingdom

The special edition should come with a 16gb card. I needs a vita.

  • Go2hell66

    This is free?

    whats the catch :/

    • Brandonmkii

Probably the exact same thing as the PC version.

    • d19xx

      Your soul?

  • DanijoEX

I’m not sure if I have much interest for the Vita version…to be honest.

But…what the heck, I’ll just go with it. I might as well go for the PC version. I do want to at least expand my interest in PC gaming.

    •  I’m all about the Vita version, I dont care about the PC one.

  • idrawrobots

    Give me this Sega!

  • Tyler Beale

Forgive me if I sound rude, but why do you post stuff about Japan-only content when most of us will probably never have access to it?

I’m assuming that date is for Japan only…

    • natchu96

I was pretty sure they want to have the PC version localized at some point, last I heard. Vita? No clue.

This site has plenty of japan-only stuff to begin with. We keep getting Fate/Stay Night Vita port posts.

    • psycho_bandaid

I think that is kind of the point of this site to be honest. They cover mainly japanese gaming for english speaking audiences. I know there are quite a few importers here as well as folks who want to just see what may be on the horizon. Also you will come across a few folks that are actually in the business of bringing games from japan to the west in interviews and/or occasionally in the comments section.

    • gk2012

Forgive me if I sound rude, but the site doesn’t only cater to what YOU want.
It’s a site for everyone who’s interested in the games being featured, and just because you can’t read Japanese, doesn’t automatically mean that everyone else can’t.

      • Brandon001

not sure i can take you seriously with that almost naked bathroom pic bruh.

        • gk2012

           Enjoy, bro. :)

          • sherimae1324

            cun i cut those….. you know….

          • Brandon001

             im so mirin’ ;)

        • I said the same thing… I read his post, thinking; “sounds like a pretty nice expla– WAITAMINUTE.”

    • because this site covers international videogames news maybe?
there is actually a flag symbol on top of article to show where the news for

      • Tyler Beale

         …Oh.  Yeah, now I see it…

  • pso2love

The vita version will play the same as the PC version, except the vita has touchscreen capabilities. From what I’ve played so far, the PC version in japan actually has music playing from the original PSO. Sakai mentioned that the vita version will be half the size of the PC version as far as HDD space goes. You will only be able to use one account per memory card. So if someone else wanted to play PSO2 on your vita, you would need another memory card. As far as PSO2 being F2P,

  • Will be getting this. Looks like it’s time to patch the PC version as well.

  • Sweet. Another reason to get a Vita. Keep em’ coming and I might actually rob– I mean, save enough to get one!

  • So Sony basically paid off the game for SEGA heh interesting but not surprising considering they don’t have much going for the Vita at this point….

    • rjthakid

Are people still saying things like this? Not much going for Vita?

      • What games does the Vita have coming exactly that will intrigue buyers to pay $300 for the handheld because I sure don’t see them coming other then this game…

    • Luna Kazemaru

why would they pay off sega for a f2p game where they would get no profit from it?

  • tubers

I hope there’s still enough market for this in the West..

  • Zero Shift

Go figure that despite the game being free, I’m still going to end up spending money on it. I’m such a sucker for CEs lol.

  • InfernoCommander

This is a step in the right direction. It’s not that the Vita is inherently bad, it’s just that it has NO GAMES(worth playing). lol
(aside from like Persona 4 G and Gravity Rush)

    • Peeka Chu

Ragnarok Odyssey, Dokuro, Silent Hill (actually quite fun), New LK, LBP, Disgaea 3 (with all the DLC), none of those do anything for you? Or the hundreds of upscaled, smoothed PSP games and minis? Or the sports and shooting Western-centric titles that I haven’t mentioned? Why do people keep saying this? Its like the persistent fallacy that the PS3 had “no games” that lingered all the way till 2010. Really, there are more games to play on the system than I ever have hours in the day to complete. Its actually my primary gaming device on account of its portability (especially now with a functional email client).

      • SerendipityX

When people say “no games” they mean “no games with mass appeal/system seller/game that everybody and their mothers want”.

        • Kevadu

I don’t care if the games have “mass appeal”, I care if they’re *good*.  And they are.

If you want to just be a sheep then go to iOS.

          • There’s no need for these inane comments here. Knock it off.

          • Zero_Destiny

There’s some pretty good and original games on iOS, heck there are even some really ambitious projects for iOS. I mean to be fair there’s loads of shovel ware and ports of games from other platforms abound on iOS but that still doesn’t under-mind the gems that are there too.

      • InfernoCommander

I really don’t have an interest in most of those things. Got a PSP that has handled my needs for years, puttin’ it to rest. Strong dislike for sports and shooters. I don’t mean to sound like a twat, but most Vita originals aren’t really worth anything(in my book). But I’ve still got one, hopes for the future.

      • Kibbitz

Well, I’m not InfernoCommander, but to be fair, the PSP minis and games could easily be played on a PSP without reason for investment in a Vita, assuming you already have a PSP. Also, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want games that actually are Vita-only titles which actually make use of the capabilities of your device.

As for Vita-only titles, InfernoCommander did say “worth playing”, which is pretty much always a personal thing. While it is be pretty presumptuous to declare exactly what is worthy, in the end, that’s what matters to the customer alone.

I’m actually in a similar boat since all I want right now on Vita is P4G. RO and Gravity Rush are nice, but they aren’t things I really want as much as things I’d pick up on cheap, or if I have a Vita and am bored with nothing to play. In my case though, it also doesn’t help that I have finished burning my ‘fun money’ budget for the year with a recent 3DS purchase plus some 2ndhand games, so I really should hold back on grabbing more stuff.

    • Go2hell66

and ragnarok odyssey + disgaea 3

    • Sergio Briceño

I think it not only has games worth playing, it has good and even some great games. They are just a few though.

It’s main competitor on the other hand has a lot of good games. It has also been in the market a little more time and all in all it’s games lack the polish the Vita games have. Maybe that’s the reason it has more good games.

But hey, it’s just me. And to be honest I don’t like what the mayority likes so I feel you there.

  • badmoogle

When this game,Ys,Soul Sacrifice and God Eater 2 all come in the west, then i’ll buy a Vita.
    Make it happen Sony!

    • Elvick

      I bet we’ll get Ys.

Soul Sacrifice was confirmed ages ago. Hell, it was confirmed not that long after it’s announcement. Crossing my fingers for a Limited Edition.

I highly doubt we’ll see God Eater 2. Namco don’t see to be putting in the effort on Vita outside of Japan.

      • badmoogle

Yeah i know we’ll be getting Ys and SS it’s just that we don’t know when.:/
Do you think somebody else could get the rights to publish GE2 in the west?

        • Ladius

Namco could hand Gods Eater 2’s localization to D3, like they did with Burst on PSP. Then again, there’s really no way to know if they will bother to localize it or not as of now.

  • Lester Paredes

I hope it comes out in America. Unless there’s info I haven’t heard, that’s still up in the air. I’d like to play this.

  • isfuturebright

Yeah I’m gonna wait for this and some other games to come over so the VITA becomes worth it…

    • rjthakid

NFS:MW, Ragnarok Odyssey, Assassin’s Creed Liberation, Littlebigplanet, Persona 4 Golden, Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Sound Shapes, Lumines, Super Stardust, Wipeout, Blaz Blue, Playstation All-Stars…

      Vita is worth it now.

      • Learii

you can’t leave out Zero Escape lol

        • rjthakid

          VERY true. Amazing game.

  • I’m ready for this. Is going to take for ever for the US release.
