Tales Of Hearts R: Infinite Evolve Is Like A Flashback To The DS Version

By Spencer . December 17, 2012 . 4:30pm

First print copies of Tales of Hearts R include a second game, Tales of Hearts R: Infinite Evolve. Namco Bandai says this is a 2D action RPG and it looks like they reused sprites from Tales of Hearts – the DS version. Yuri, Jade, Stan, and Lloyd show up as guest characters in Tales of Hearts R: Infinite Evolve. Players will also see special skits, which should be a treat for fans.

Speaking of fans, Tales of Hearts R Link Edition includes Vita accessories like a pouch, cleaning cloth, cradle with special cover, decal, and a copy of the game. An other bonus is a code to download a Tales of Hearts R Quest Clock which shows scenery from the game. You can send characters out in quest mode to earn more money, which you can use to purchase more skins.

While Namco Bandai is the publisher for Tales of Hearts R, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan is selling and distributing Link Edition. Tales of Hearts R comes out on March 7. You can get it for 6,480 yen ($77) in stores or 5,830 yen ($70) on PlayStation Network. Link Edition is 9,980 yen ($120).

i said i wasn’t going to click on this, WHY DIDN’T I LISTEN TO MYSELF.

  • Why do I feel like Innocence R and Hearts R were sent to die?

    • sandra10

I’m going to take a stab in the dark (not really, I’ve seen your posts across here, GAF, even youtube), and say that you think that any handheld game that isn’t on the 3DS will sell poorly.

      • Incorrect. I would have more faith if Vita was performing better. It is not my fault it’s predecessor has fared better, along with the 3DS Juggernaut. You can’t argue the large gap of units sold between them.

        • sandra10

You tell me I’m wrong but you don’t tell me why. Hmmm. Now I can understand thinking that Hearts R might underperform because it’s releasing on the same day as Soul Sacrifice and near MH4 but seeing as how you mentioned Innocence R as well, I’m not so sure I’m wrong. But hey, what do I know? I’m not in your head.

Also, who’s arguing over (or going to) the discrepancies in sales? That’s evident. And what’s evident doesn’t need to be argued.

          • Well said. I concede.

people always think More Console = Better sales… Ppl dont’ take in considerations of Sale-through rate as well as Game Attachment rate. (games a Player own per console).

Wii and DS had historically had atrocious attachment rate for games. most Wii/DS owner owns like 2-3 games, whil PS3/X360 owners averagely own double that amount.

  • Tales_of_Master

Oh my poor heart why are you being tempted -_- That Link Edition looks so delicious. I’m surprised to see Sony handling the distribution of the Link Edition. Maybe they will push for a western release to help the Vita sell ?…….A man can dream :c

    • Hidayat246

because tales of heart R is one of the only big vita title so far
that why sony help distribution TOH-R
the same thing with MGS peace walker and MGS 4

      • Tianyu Wei

wtf? Both Persona 4 Golden AND Project DIVA f for Vita is on the same level as this game, maybe even bigger than this game… this is by far not the “only big” vita Title so far.

There is also Senran Kagura Shinobi Vs, and Soul Sacrifice as well…

        • Hidayat246

look like my miss-spelling-english problem come again T_T

i want write “…..one of the few only…” not “….one of the only..”
          sorry for that

As much as I don’t want to do it, if this game comes overseas (and the Klonoa summon from the DS version is still in it) I may have to get a Vita.

  • Ladius

The game looks really good, a big improvement over Innocence R in terms of production values, not to mention the source material was apparently better to begin with.

That said, I’m surprised to see Sony handling publishing duties for the limited edition, it would be great if Sony was as supportive to Japanese third party exclusives in the west as Nintendo has been (and that goes for the Tales franchise, too, considering Nintendo made Symphonia into a big success while Sony apparently never did anything for the series despite it being extremely focused on Sony hardware).

So tempted to get the limited ed instead of the regular now (ʳ ´º㉨º)ʳ

    Japan gets everything so sexy.

    • Lester Paredes

      definitely in their electronics.

  • YourAshyAss_Elbows

Yeah. If you are japanese or understand the language, this game is for you

  • I wonder if they’ll put it up on PSN after a certain period of time. I know it would KILL ME to know I was missing out on that much stuff just because I didn’t get a first-print copy.

  • Elvick

    This made the lack of localization news (so far *fingers crossed*) sting so much. D;

And even if it does get localized, will it include Infinite Evolve? Quest Clock? Because, these two things I want about as much as the game itself.

    Damn you Namco Bandai!

  • Wait… so the Action RPG isn’t downloadable, separately? That’s… well, f***. Don’t have a Vita YET, so I guess I can’t buy ToH Vita for now, but … I’ll also miss out on this game who’s only exclusive to first buyers T_T, why!?

  • Haseyo

I wish I could import but Tales games with no English patch are just brutal. Way too open world to just “wing” things. Oh well, not too pressed over Hearts.

  • ragingmerifes

So it’s worth it to import the game and learn japanese in a few months to play it afterwards.

  • s07195

    Wow… I guess I half-called it then. First time!

  • Sht… i want the link edition

  • Yup, Namco Bandai are amazing when they feel like treating their fans to this stuff.

  • Sergio Briceño

I wish there was a way to get this game for cheap over the 3D version. This one looks more exciting.
