By Spencer . December 18, 2012 . 1:10am

wizardryios1Wizardry is everywhere these days from PlayStation 3 consoles to PCs with Wizardry Online. Namco Bandai is getting in on the dungeon crawling action too with a Wizardry game of their own. Wizardry: The Demon Tower Wars follows a group of adventurers searching treasures from the Fallen Heaven Tower.

Wizardry: The Demon Tower Wars  is a social RPG coming to iOS in January 2013. The game is free to play, but some virtual items will cost a small fee. Register for the game before launch and you’ll get a Lesser Demon as a bonus.

I wish Atlus were working with it instead.

Great to see Namco further expanding their jrpg lineup, after resurrecting Summon Night it’s interesting to see them work on Wizardry, and that artwork looks good :)

I think Wizardry-like dungeon crawlers fit the smartphone context better than other kinds of jrpgs, even if I will never be able to play this one since I lack an iOS device.

looks like everyone wants a slice of that social games market

I don’t understand how these social games have enough appeal that they actually manage to get people to pay money. I mean, sure they all have beautiful art (it’s usually the only thing with substance in these “games”), but their “gameplay” mostly consists of pressing buttons and watching numbers fly. I could do that with a calculator (without the pretty art of course). I praise those f2p social games like Puzzle & Dragons that have real gameplay, but these? How many Rage of Bahamut do the masses need before they get tired of it?

i saw an article saying that most games are supported by a relatively small number of players that pay a lot for IAPs

How do you register for the game?
