Will Resident Evil: Revelations Be Available On PC?

By Ishaan . December 21, 2012 . 9:45am

Resident Evil: Revelations is probably headed to home consoles at some point in the future. But what about the PC? Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 both have PC versions and we know Capcom are keen on supporting the PC market.

Recently, a user on the Capcom forums posted this request for the company’s Senior VP, Christian Svensson: “I realize you can’t say anything about it because it hasn’t been announced yet but Sven please see if [Resident Evil: Revelations HD] can be released on PC.”

Svensson replied: “As you know, nothing I can say on such a topic, but you know I’m a PC fan. We’ll see what the future holds.”

Resident Evil: Revelations was originally released as a Nintendo 3DS game in early 2012. Korea’s video games rating board recently posted ratings for the game on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Well, at least it ain’t no RE6 I hate those final bosses with a passion.

  • MrRobbyM

Hopefully there’s PS Move support, if not, I’ll be hoping for a PC version. Dat mouse, son.

For some reason, I didn’t like the Move control in RE5 Gold edition.. I played RE5 on 360, but also loved RE4 Wii ver’s aiming.. somehow the Wii remote seemed to respond better than the Move controller, I heard it’s the same for No More Heroes PS3 as well, that the Wii remote was better. But I much preferred using the 360 controller, didn’t care for the waggling..

Revelations looked amazing on the 3DS, especially on the XL, I liked it w/ the circle pad.. would love to have it on 360 w/ achievement too :)

I myself loved the Wii version or RE4 as well. Didn’t mind the occasional waggling during certain scenes and what not.

I haven’t played RE5 Gold Edition but do you think it’s fault of the Move or Capcom? The only chance I got to use my Move was with the Ape Escape whatever it’s called demo and it was pretty responsive. I guess it would be different with a shooter though. Accuracy and what not.

I have no doubt Revelations looks good on the 3DS. I plan on getting an XL sometime next year actually. I just don’t want to buy a circle pad attachment that I’ll only use for a few games so that’s why I’m hoping for the Move support.

Speaking of Move support, I’m surprised RE6 didn’t launch with Move support. I probably would have bought it just because RE4 Wii made the game so much more fun.

Not sure why the Move didn’t work so well w/ RE5 compared to Wii Remote, maybe that’s why RE6 doesn’t come w/ Move control? I just couldn’t aim very well w/ it, compared to using the regular controller. I thought I would love Gold w/ Move + DLC on disc because I liked RE4 Wii.. instead I didn’t really play it..

I know.. I’m just using the Circle Pad Pro for KH3D and Revelations, both games work great w/ it, and look much better on a bigger screen.. I wish they would make more games support it, I just feel like collecting it even though if not many games would use it. It actually gives a better grip for the original angular 3DS, downside is you can’t change your game w/o taking it off.. the CPP on the XL makes it gigantic though :) But yeah, I think it’s a missed opportunity they don’t make as many games as possible to take advantage of it, when the peripheral is alrdy there.. people say it would alienate those w/o it, but 2nd analog could be optional, just like KH3D or RE here.. instead Kid Icarus just used it for left-handed..

    Awwwh yeeeahhh

  • Console Exclusive-what ? Capcom never heard of such a thing.

    • MrRobbyM

Think of it this way. At least the 3D is exclusive to the 3DS version.

      • tubers

        No-glasses 3D at least.

    • There really is no point to exclusivity when it comes to certain kinds of games. Resident Evil has always been a multiplatform series. It’s not like they’re pulling the 3DS version. It was a great game and 3DS owners got to play it. I don’t see what’s wrong with making it available to more people?

I’m just worried the port is going to get out-sourced to a team that won’t be willing to do the necessary work to make sure the port is as excellent as the original. I definitely want more people to experience this game — it was fantastic. But I don’t want people who don’t have a 3DS to be stuck with a half-assed port.

        • I wouldn’t be worried, honestly. MT Framework seems to be super flexible when it comes to cross-platform stuff. I mean, look at E.X. Troopers on 3DS/PS3. :)

          • Zharkiel

            “look at E.X. Troopers on 3DS/PS3.” You just had to add salt to that wound, didn’t you? ;_;

          • CrimsonalCore

Yes, moar salts! MOAR! You will be tasty for my dinner! *Put salts all over yooooou* Just kidding. X3 I share your pain, though. :<

  • kylehyde

I guess there are not many people asking for a Wii U version on the capcom forums

  • Gmoyajp

Hope we get PC version of this and I cant wait for pc version of 6, it’s still a New Release for pc lol

  • I want this to be disc based, not download only. Then it would look nice lined up with the other games in the series instead of in a 3DS box. Not only that, but a console/PC release should include The Mercenaries 3DS on it with characters and stages from this game as bonus content. It’s too perfect to pass up!

  • Göran Isacson

So I played a demo of this, and are the enemies always as tough as they are in the start? Because I think I’d like to play this in full, but I would definitely want the ability to use dual sticks/mouse to aim smoother than I could aim on the 3DS.

  • Universe

I think this one truly worth buying, unlike RE5 and RE6. Let’s hope Capcom confirms a PC version.
