Compile Heart and Class of Heroes developer ZeroDiv are making a PlayStation Vita game about making a legendary curry. You play as Pupuru in Holy Sorcery Story who goes on an adventure for ingredients to save the neighborhood curry shop.

Holy Sorcery Story is a roguelike so if Pupuru gets knocked out you lose all of your items. Her level drops down to one if she leaves the dungeon too. Check out this post for more information about how Holy Sorcery Story plays.

This looks adorable. A nice blend.

Can’t get enough of the gorgeous artwork.

  • It’s funny how a game like this has the most cutesy artwork and the most punishing concept of gameplay.

If you played as much Touhou as I do, you would expect this as the norm.

      • If that’s the case, you’re just a masochist then.

I really fall for Compile’s artwork. This and Monpiece have me so sold.

I really love the idea here also. I’ve seen some state it as stupid, but the idea of “legendary” food or to become the best chef isn’t that rare in Japan. There’s a lot of manga and anime about just that, and in fact I remember there being a manga that’s called Addicted to Curry also.
Still, this is definitely a tough one to decide on putting the pre-order down yet or not. I got a hunch this one’s going to get localized, assuming there doesn’t get revealed a whole bunch of naughty/explicit stuff hidden in there somewheres.

Please please please convey to compile hearts that any sort of JRPG, this game included, would be received extremely well in the US and EU Vita communities, and that myself, among many others, would like to see this game being brought over, digital only or not.

I said the same in another thread, but I think this game has a pretty good chance to be localized as a PSN download :) Compile Heart is always pushing its licenses for western releases, and NISA has shown us they’re willing to localize niche dungeon crawlers such as the Cladun games and Legasista.

  • I like the premise.

My kind of portable RPG. You can pick it up, level up, get items, feel accomplished and put it down after just an hour if you like or if your battery runs out. And then you charge it up and do it again when you have time.

Just like you do in DotA… Wait, why hasn’t DotA been made portable yet?

  • Carlos Escalante

Looks nice….and very fit for a portable!

I’m still really excited for this game and very curious. I hope it does well when it’s released, and that there’s a chance we see it here.

Also, the game does appear to have some level in fanservice in a couple of the designs, but if it stays as bad as that, I’m content. (And the designs are interesting, at the least.)

Soooo….Chocobo’s Dungeon in other words with lolita characters? Got it…

      Getting it? Good.

I know I’m probably going to. Roguelikes are right up my alley.
