By Ishaan . January 9, 2013 . 11:00am

We’ve seen plenty of screenshots and a very brief clip of Muramasa: The Demon Blade on PlayStation Vita, but this week, Marvelous AQL released a full-length trailer via Famitsu.com. Check it out below:

Muramasa: The Demon Blade is scheduled for release on March 28th, 2013 in Japan for 4,980 yen. New DLC chapters will be released for the game after its release.

2:29: Hey, it’s the 4 DLC characters! Neat to see we know what they look like now. Wonder when we’ll get to see footage of them.

  • heartless141

if it didn’t have DLCs then i’d probably get the japanese version.
may be i should anyway X_X

Ugh wish the DLCs were included kinda makes it pointless to import…when I wont be able get the DLCs for my US account. And now they are tempting me with a soundtrack cd bonus :( This better make it to the states. Atlus please!

Well, you could get a JP PSN card from an import site and buy the DLC on a JP PSN account and play the DLC that way.

      • ronin4life

Those cards usually carry horrendous mark-ups.

Not to mention vita cards are region locked, so he would need to buy another or re delete and download content every time he wants to play… to play a game that will probably be localized anyway.

even though people would have loved to play this on their tv in hd, i’m kinda glad that it ended up on the vita. ’cause really, it won’t looked any prettier than it did (or may be the colors would looked brighter than before?..). anyways, i think that with the vita’s OLED screen will look just as great up close.

biggest question for me is this… are we getting a physical release or will it be PSN download only??

  • Demeanor

Looks absolutely gorgeous. I’m reminded of the tales series a bit :P Lol the male char looks like L with a katana XD

When PlayStation Blog was putting out the polls for their GOTY Awards, they had (albeit, mistakenly) put Muramasa as one of the choices for Most Anticipated Vita Game. I had kinda hoped that was confirmation of a localization attempt by someone. Hopefully one of our saviors (Atlus, XSeed, NISA, Askys, or hell, even Sony) will pick this up soon(-ish)… =/

Any word on a US release date?

  • Mazdian

YES YES YES!!! Can’t wait for this!

  • z_merquise

If ever an English version is confirmed, I’ll surely double dip for this game. I much preferred playing this in a portable console.

Looks like the DLC characters are indeed all-new.

Anyone can read kanji so we can know the names of the characters?

    • Aoshi00

If the extra chars aren’t dlc I would’ve imported it alrdy :(.. I preordered it and then canceled.. I actually have both the jpn and us wii ver.. wouldn’t mind paying $20 or 30 more to have everything on the cartridge, play thru it again with awesome trophies..

The new char names are Nekomata Oren, Kenbei, ninja Arashimaru, and Rajaki… Can’t play these scenarios on the US acct :( i’m tempted to get it, but afraid it might be localized or ported to PS3 that which doesn’t restrict to one account and could d/l DLC (though I blew most of my yen on the FF sale lol)

    XSEED!!!!

  • Göran Isacson

I do wonder- are any of the characters announced as downloads present in the original game, or are they all brand new? Never played the first one, so I wouldn’t know.
