By Ishaan . January 10, 2013 . 1:20pm

CD Projekt Red, developers of The Witcher series of games, have released a teaser for their next title, Cyberpunk 2077. The trailer depicts a woman going on a rampage due to all the cybernetic modifications to her body, and the police of Night City, the game’s setting, attempting to stop her with the help of a member of the Psychosquad elite police force. Watch it below:

As previously reported, Cyberpunk 2077 is based on an old pen-and-paper RPG but the game itself will be an open-world RPG, with the ability to roam freely around Night City and its surroundings. CD Projekt Red promise a non-linear plot as well.

… Oh, I love the scenario. I’ll gladly pick this up

The cops remind me of Master Yi.

The teaser was amazing. The “cyberpunk” style never really appealed to me but it looks really slick in this teaser. I’ve heard nothing but good things about CD Projekt Red. I hope I have a good enough PC to run this by the time it’s out.

I was kinda excited for this ever since they first announced it, but that was a pretty cool teaser. And the “Coming: When it’s ready” part made me want to highfive someone. I’m willing to wait for a quality game (Guild Wars 2 is a good example)

Just… wow! That trailer has got me wanting more. Also, that song… :D

Never played the original format of this, but I’m totally on board with this.

exited, looks interesting, not fan of the witcher but this looks great so far

  • Spirit Macardi

This looks very promising. I’ve never played anything by CD Projekt Red before, but this may just change that. It helps that I absolutely love the cyberpunk genre.

“Coming: when it’s ready”, you sly gits, CD Projekt. That they want to take their time with it is very encouraging indeed, and from what I’ve heard about the Witcher games, having as much time as they want for these is going to lead to some promising stuff.

Looks incredible. Hadn’t heard of this game before this. People on Gaf sound pumped about it. Alright, will follow this.

Futuristic setting finally from a developer I like. I want to see what they do with this.

That was great! Looking forward to it! So I’m guessing that was her at the end and now she’s with the police force?

Very excited for this. The “When it’s ready” is encouraging, the trailer’s music was awesome and the trailer itself was breathtaking. Cannot wait to see more of the game and will definitely be following this one.

If you found the music awesome, it’s “Bullets” by Archive. You can buy the track from Amazon MP3, and probably elsewhere. :)

If only Square Enix did a trailer like this for Versus, then we would’ve been a bit more tolerant with the wait. But alas…

  • Kai2591

awesomely cool trailer! Might play this one. Just love futuristic settings~

0:29- that’s a sign you’ve injected a LITTLE too much botox into your cheeks. I wonder if the ending indicates that she’s inducted into the unit, or simply flown in for storage… and why the dude was posing all gangsta-style instead of holding his weapon in a reasonable manner. And for that matter why a supermodel looking lady has hidden knife-arms: is that what the future uses instead of mace?

  • Locklear93

I’ve been paying attention to this in general, but not going out of my way. I really respected their work on The Witcher 2. (I couldn’t stand the controls for the first one–my loss.) Despite this, I wasn’t excited, just interested. Cyberpunk gets thrown around a lot, but often isn’t done very impressively, in my opinion. This teaser DEFINITELY got me excited.

  • DemonicX

Loving what I’m seeing so far. I’ll be looking forward to more information from CD Projekt Red.
