The Senran Kagura, Soul Sacrifice, And Phantasy Star Online 2 Vita Mashup

Samurai & Dragons is already Sega’s biggest crossover with most of the Valkyria Chronicles characters, various heroes from the Shining games, and Bayonetta. Sega is going beyond their own franchises and adding in characters from other PlayStation Vita games.

Coinciding with the Vita version of Phantasy Star Online 2, Famitsu reports Sega will add cards like the Vol Dragon, Rappy, and FOnewearl on February 1.

Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus cards with the new Vita exclusive characters will be added at the end of February.

Soul Sacrifice cards will be available at the end of March.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f cards are scheduled to come out at the end of March too.

Sega is adding in more of their own characters into Samurai & Dragons like Panis and Freed from Shining Ark.

They are digging deep into their library for the third series. All of these games will be represented:

Skies of Arcadia
The House of the Dead
Fantasy Zone
Crazy Taxi
Space Harrier
Shining and the Darkness
Roommania #23
Hundred Sword
Samba de Amigo
Burning Ranger
Dynamite Deka
Last Bronx
Dragon Force
Puyo Puyo
Comix Zone
Fighting Vipers
Clockwork Knight
Virtua Cup
Rent a Hero
Bonaza Brothers
Golden Axe
Altered Beast
Alex Kidd

Card arcade games Sangokushi Taisen and Sengoku Taisen will be represented in Samurai & Dragons too.

Samurai & Dragons is available as a free download on Japan’s PlayStation Store.

    “Skies of Arcadia”

It’s been forever since I heard of that game. *NOSTALGIA RUSH*

I’m still wishing that a sequel will be announced in the (near) future. ;_:

    • Sega hates you. Didn’t you know?

    • Locklear93

It’s been on lists of most-wanted sequels in Japan. Instead, they release Binary Domain. I dunno.

    • gamefreak86

I think a hd re-release of the original on psn would be nice. Never got to play it. Also hope this gets localized with same bonus’.

  • Junko Enoshima

Sega just loves nostalgia, don’t they? :P

  • omeganeko

started playing the soul sacrifice demo 2 days ago. It’s so hard to put down.

I’m hoping that SS is a hit, it seems like they’re trying something new in the hunting genre and that should be commended. What’s the difficulty like? I’m hoping average>high.

hmm i have got good at dodging because i have gotten use to the enemies attack patterns. The hard part is knowing the best magic to use against certain enemies and using magic wisely because for most magic you only have a certain number of uses, so you have to make sure not to waste any. It is possible to absorb magic from your surroundings but it also leaves you open for attacks. some magic has unlimited uses but drains health. so its about average/hard.

The Asian version of this game – launching in February – has English text. I’m not sure if that has been mentioned. I’d like to see a release over here (digital obviously). I’ve got the 2nd one of my Galaxy Note 2, and its decent, but would certainly play better without virtual controls.

You forgot to say that the whole Sega Hardwares family will get their own cards.

    Clockwork Knight!? Comix Zone!!?
*collapse by the shear amount of nostalgia*

  • Sega is that asshole who has a delicious cake and is constantly going on and on about how great it is when they know they have no intention of sharing it with anyone. I mean, how many crossovers has Vyse been in? I’m shock they aren’t teasing us with Panzer too.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Alex Kidd, even Roommania???
This game should even be called as Sega x Nostalgia lol. My inner Sega fanboys is going berserk here.^_^

  • zferolie

After reading all those crossovers, I knew it just had to be a card game, and I was right. Good thing I didn’t get my hopes up.

Don’t get me wrong, hearing that all these characters are being brought back and put into one game, card game or not, is exciting, and shows Sega still likes it’s old series, but I think it’s time for a massive crossover that ISN’T a card game.

    • Baten Kaitos is a card game. RE: Chain of Memories is a card game as well. Hell, if you really want to get down to it, Ragnorok Odyssey is based around cards as well.

      • Raltrios

I thought I was the only person who liked Baten Kaitos!

        • Heck naw son! I’ve been waiting for them to announce another one since the DS fat. Hopefully Wii U…

          • Raltrios

It would be a really great game to have on a DS instead of a gamecube (though I’m not sure the small screens would do the visuals justice)… the one we’ve got is my brother’s, so I’d like to get my own copy.

          • I just want them to take advantage of a touchscreen for card management.

          • Raltrios

Agreed, though it would essentially make Confusion and -what was it, headache? – pointless.

  • Draparde

Man, i was kinda hoping these where a crossover for PSO2 costumes or something XD. sounds pretty cool nonetheless though :O

im also alittle surprised they didint use some story NPCs for the crossover rather than the typical cover characters for PSO2.

  • I wonder if we will get a release of Samurai and Dragons. Still no confirmation of pso2 vita either.

  • ThatAzure

Is there going to be a physical release in Asia or is it just download only?

  • Demeanor

I used to play Bonanza bros! ^ ^
