  • Really hope DQ7 gets localized, the updates they did to it look fantastic. Played a bit of the PS1 version and it’s a loooong game but it’s fun.

    • Samurai Don

Well Nintendo did state that they are working with publisher to localize their game, so maybe Nintendo will publish it.

      • Unknown

I think square might be a little bit more difficult to work with since they have their on agenda on how to do things, which is very depressing.

    • xavier axol

i wish that we could get them both the ps1 version as well as the new 3ds version, one can ony dream right?…

      • I’m not sure what you mean, we got the Playstation version.

        • I imagine they might mean in terms of PSN and the sort– unless if they actually didn’t know it was localized!

        • xavier axol

it’s not in the psn store, that’s what i meant.

      • Much as that would be cool, the original PS1 version of it /is/ kinda. Plodding, especially in the start, and in general battles are kinda lifeless! Playing the DS versions that came out of IV to VI really made me appreciate the effort they went through to animate the monster’s movements in battle, and it really helped the games a lot, in my opinion.

Course, playing the PS1 version of DQVII probably would make one appreciate the remake all the more!

    • puchinri

Agreed, it looks great on the 3DS. Really hoping we see it is the West~.

  • Heh. “Role playing game ‘release'” is more like it. I mean, yeah, there’s eShop, but it looks like Nintendo printed just enough copies of Awakening that they could write the whole endeavor off as a failure and get back to shoving Nintendo Land down our throat. I’d like to imagine this is a wake-up call to Nintendo, but I sincerely think they don’t WANT American gamers buying RPGs on their platforms.

So yeah. I’ll admit I quit partway through the PS1 version, but I’m psyched for this, especially if they’re making it less grindy like they promised.

    • ronin4life

That makes no sense. They advertised it. They sold out at retailers. There will be exstensive dlc… and you believe they are trying to send it out to die?

    • Arrei

What are you even talking about? They made a bloody TV commercial for this game, for pete’s sake. It’s not as if the copies that have yet to arrive at retailers no longer exist just because the shipments are late.

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

What are you smoking here? They have push this FE like no others. Hell, i won’t be shocked if this FE will end up being the most succesful FE ever worldwide.

    • They’ve built up demand and they’re using seemingly intentional poor shipping habits in order to push people to digital. It’s a much easier medium to sell on for a large company. Don’t you find it odd that it didn’t arrive in all stores early and had a sunday street date like every other nintendo game? It’s basic marketing as done by neanderthals.

They aren’t willing to actually risk mario, because it might actually negatively affect sales.

  • John Pena

One of my favorite all time series, next to The Tales series, very long game but it is still very enjoyable!!!!

  • AuraGuyChris

That game is going to sell like pancakes over there.

  • I really hope Amazon gets Fire Emblem’s shipment soon! It’s a game I’ve heavily looked forward to, but I don’t really want to get the eShop version, aaaa.

Hope that a Dragon Quest VII localization comes soon, as well. I imagine one can expect what the top seller next week is gonna be, when the charts are released.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

This week in Japan. People skipping work to get Dragon Quest 7 lol.

  • Ethan_Twain

Animal Crossing… your time has come at last. A challenger approaches to remove you from the top of the Japanese charts, I challenger I fear you are no match for.

You know, until three weeks after Dragon Quest releases and Animal Crossing comes back to the top again. Because Nintendo’s sales curves are ridiculous.

    • puchinri

Lol, I was wondering how well it would do too. I am interested though. I mean, DmC bested AC, but for all of a week (if that). It’s great either way, no matter which one stays on top. (And everyone who would want one has to have a copy of AC eventually.)

  • CirnoLakes

I worry this won’t be localized.

So I may, in fact, just have to break down and import it.

    Dragon Quest is worth it.

    • Marik78

If you own a japanese 3DS, yes.

  • puchinri

I’m really hoping we see the game localized, and I can’t wait to see how the sales for it go too~.

  • So, can anyone confirm now how many save slots it has?
