Tales Of Hearts R Accessory Lets You Input Attacks With Street Fighter Commands

The Tales series uses a battle system that draws inspiration from fighting games. In Tales of Hearts R you can actually use commands like QCF+square to do attacks. The key to changing the input system is the Combo Command accessory. Equip this and you can assign techs to different motions. If you’re a Street Fighter or Tekken fan this should make Shing or whoever you control more efficient in battle.

We’ve seen the Combo Command item appear in other games. The Tales team confirmed the accessory will be in Tales of Hearts R on Twitter.

Tales of Hearts R will be available on March 7 for PlayStation Vita.

Can I finally fit all of my Artes at once? That’d be amazing.

  • Barrylocke89

The Combo Command is a really cool item in the Tales games, since they let you use more commands…the trouble is that I tend to suck with those sorts of commands. Ah well.

  • Zarx

Wonder if it’s arcade stick compatible, if it is, I’m all in there.

    • Crevox

There are no official arcade stick mods for the PS Vita. The only one I’ve seen was a quite extensive custom mod by a consumer.

      • Sergio Briceño

Well, wasn’t Yoshinori Ono in talks with Mad Catz to make a small arcade stick controller for the Vita?

I know that if it was indeed going to be produced it was supposed to be SFxT themed and, of course, announced around the time that game was released. So maybe the idea was dismissed after all…

Really bad news though, an arcade experience with Vita would be fantastic. It already has a lot of amazing brawlers to begin with.

      • Zarx

Not officially maybe but you know if people want to play on it enough they would somehow manage to make a converter to plug in other types of controller in, for that I’m optimistic, may not happen but it sure is nice to hope for it. :)

    • TheExile285

why? have you used a Vita D-Pad? its amazing and very easy to pull of inputs with

  • Waka The Baka

I’m actually pissed…..Why the fuck is Murrika and EU getting Xillia instead of this and Innocence R?! This just looks so good……QAQ

Be thankfull tht you are getting one Tales title crossing the sea at all.

      • Waka The Baka

I am thankful. But it’s just that Xilla is so meh….( ・ω・) It’s not worth the hype.

  • XxStoicmonkeyxX

Funny thing is i was hoping they would make a tales like this. on the easy end the have the basic system for newbies, and this is the advanced system for pro players. i would play this all fucking day.

  • Wappuli

Good to see this accessory returning, I really liked it on Eternia.

  • Sergio Briceño

I didn’t know Combo Command was in other games (wonder if it was in other To games too), it’s really cool that we get kind of an homage to fighting games, also it will sure make it a lot easier to quicky chain combos and vary them.

    • SirTeffy

It left the series in the move to 3D, the only games that have it are Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Destiny, and Tales of Eternia (and now, Tales of Hearts R)
