Atelier Ayesha Character Designer Working On Toukiden

By Spencer . February 12, 2013 . 3:04pm

tok1The merging between Tecmo Koei and Gust continues with a member of the Atelier team working with Omega Force’s next title Toukiden. Hidari, the character designer on Atelier Ayehsa, is Toukiden’s character designer, too. Hmm… I wonder if Ayesha will make a cameo then?

Tokuiden is in development for PlayStation Vita and PSP.

Oh? Interest piqued, then! Ayesha’s character designs made it the first Atelier game to catch my attention, so I’m looking forward to seeing more of Toukiden’s.

  • I mean I am trying to like this game but……..IDK

    • fds_nextdart

But the graphics are too good and you prefer something more outdated? It’s looking amazing and any handheld can always use more MH-like games. What isn’t there to like~?

    *brain explodes*

I will not be satisfied until we get Atelier Nobunaga. With Mitsuhide as the jealous, scheming rival.

    • Göran Isacson

But will Nobunaga be an adorable little girl in this game… or look exactly the same as he does in Samurai Warriors, only he will wear frilly dresses and have tea parties and talk about friendship and working together a lot?

Because I would buy the latter game.

      • JohnNiles

I figure one form would be standard, one form would be DLC, and the dialog would be exactly the same for both.

“You have five years to unify all of Japan, with the power of ALCHEMY!”

        • Göran Isacson

… I would buy the game AND the DLC if that possibility became a reality. Kudos, for developing the concept to it’s most brilliant conclusion.

      • PoweredByHentai

I would totally go for this Nobuna(ga).

        • Göran Isacson

Ooh, which anime was this one? I seem to recall an advertisement for some show that was all about sengoku generals turned into girls, but I can’t remember what name it had.

            The ambition of Oda Nobuna

          • PoweredByHentai

Oda Nobuna no Yabou (Ambition of Oda Nobuna). You can find the series on Crunchyroll. :D

  • Göran Isacson

Considering we see other characters in the screenshots, have they said if there’s only one playable character in this game or is it a big Monster Hunter-esque game?

  • This is great news. Ayesha has some amazing character designs. To see that sort of work being put into a feudal Japanese setting. Well, that just excites me more than should be legal! XD

Seriously, this is great news. Now where’s some gameplay footage of this game. The lack of that and a localization announcement are all that is keeping my excitement at bay.

  • Looks nice. Will get if it is localized.

  • $29082171

    That looks sweet.

Keyword being ”looks”, how does it play exactly?

  • revenent hell

This game is looking pretty damn good….I look forward to more information about it

  • neogeno

Game looks good man, game looks good.

  • tubers

It really looks good. I hope it’s one of their games that run native (or very near native) resolution. Even if it would have jaggies, it still looks pretty nice. :)

  • then I guess it’s day one for me. Linca playable, please…

  • Syn

Huh, I see decapitation in the second last pick, curious as so just how much we will be able to cut off(seeing as its the monsters entire hand in the pic), and It looks graphically decent…okay pretty good, hope we get a gameplay trailer soon

  • Ayesha would be… a little out of place in this game, I suspect.

Now, Keithgriff, Juris or Linca? They’d be a little more at home here, I think. Linca probably wouldn’t even be slowed down.

  • TheExile285

    Screen shots look good
