Muramasa Rebirth Still Looks Beautiful, But When Can We See The New Characters?

By Spencer . February 13, 2013 . 12:48am

Marvelous AQL released a short gameplay clip of Muramasa Rebirth. While it’s nice to see a video at 720p, I imagine the game’s colors will standout even more on the PlayStation Vita’s screen. Instead of pressing up to jump, Muramasa Rebirth has a dedicated jump button and a new localization from Aksys.

The main addition in Muramasa Rebirth are four downloadable scenarios with new characters. We shouldn’t have to wait long to see the Nekomata in action since Japan gets the game on March 28.

meanwhile dragon’s crown is yet to be seen T_T

    • Kotaku was @ Atlus US recently and played a bit of a Dragon’s Crown (a localized version even). It’s coming.

      Got no link, sorry.

Since its from Kotaku, they’re probably lying. If exposing the FFType-0 fan translation to the public was bad enough. They even asked a staff of SE of what they think of it.

Hold out hope brother. Buns so fine do not easily die… or rather they wouldn’t if there was any justice in the world.

    • IIRC in the fiance report, Atlus Jp said they are aiming for 2013 release

I wonder if they tweaked the larger swords in this version… in the original, the small swords > large swords. The higher damage output of the larger swords didn’t make up for their slower speed. At least from what I recall.
Also can you still jump by pressing up? I find it hard to believe you can do the aerial dash attack by using the jump button.
(btw I played on the 2nd difficulty, but not the hardest. So maybe the larger swords were more useful in the hardest mode?)

Nope, there is a jump button this time around. Hurray. Might be an option for classic controls, but I’m not sure.

      • MrSirFeatherFang

Yeah I know about the addition of the jump button, but my question is about the aerial dash attack which was originally done by holding the attack button and simply pressing up and left/right to dash left and right iirc. I can’t think of a way to do that attack with a jump button.
Momohime does a few of those dashes starting around 0:13 into the video.

Though i never knew about the demand for a jump button until I read the comments from the Aksys localization announcement.

    Game looks absolutely beautiful.
Games with art like this makes me feel like i’m in another world I don’t know if that’s just me.

  • Solomon_Kano

    I’m so ready for this.

      You should of said:
