Time and Eternity Coming This Summer From NIS America

By Spencer . February 21, 2013 . 10:02pm

image Time and Eternity will be released in Spain and other countries. At NIS America’s press event, the publisher confirmed that Time and Eternity will be released in North America for PlayStation 3 in summer 2013.

Imageepoch developed Time and Eternity, which they call the world’s first HD animation RPG. In Time and Eternity you travel through time to save your fiancée. Players switch between Princess Toki and her alter ego Towa during the game’s real time battle system. In addition to using knives, guns, and spells Toki/Towa can also bend time,

NIS America will also localize and release the downloadable episodes for the game. Some of those are… pretty steamy.

Time and Eternity will be released as a PlayStation 3 retail and digital game for $49.99.

Well, if it’s NISA, it will have Dual-Audio. I think it’s obligatory for this game.

And, guess I’ll end up buying this, since I can’t resist NISA (Especially if they throw a Soundtrack Disc for Pre-Order)

    • Luna Kazemaru

implying the JP Audio will help this game? HAHAHA ohhh boy you in for a shocker

      • DesmaX

Well, I know this game is horrible. But, hey, since it’s supoosed to be “Playing an Anime”, it should, at least, have that

      • LynxAmali

It’s not THAT bad. It’s mediocre. Not terribly bad but not great.

  • Skipping this unfortunately due to FFXIV ARR

    • Lightthrower

I played the japanese version of Tokitowa and it’s not really good… the visuals are great but not the gameplay.

      • Kevadu

I wouldn’t exactly call the visuals great either. Sure they look OK in screenshots, but when moving? Ughhh….

        • Juan Andrés Valencia

My problem is that it looks like a cardboard cut-out in an ugly looking 3D world. It’s like watching The Lion King in 3D cross-eyed on crack.

      • Stranger On The Road

I watched some videos of the gameplay; and I have to admit the ‘anime’ bit did limit what they could do. If the battle system was in 3D that would have made the gameplay better.

That being said; it is not so terrible that I would shun the game! After all I am getting it for the *cough*story*cough*.

        • Kevadu

The story is *worse* than the battle system (which is pretty bad…).

          • Stranger On The Road

humm, I was sure that I edited by post but I see it unchanged!

I meant that as a joke; I want the game for the story not the *cough*steamy*cough* episodes.

  • chobitsza

    I can’t resist that NISA at all…

  • Go2hell66

As much as i would have loved to play this in spanish im glad this is getting an english release too

  • Hans Satori

    A must buy game.

  • kool_cid414

I’m looking forward to giving this a shot the concept has intrigued since I found out about it.

  • Natat

Nice to know I won’t have to import to play this game. Looking forward to it!

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

dat Patrick Seitz on the trailer

  • Heriel

a lot of people say this isn´t a good game, but i still want to see by myself considering that i loved arc rise fantasia (another imagepooch game) wich everyone says that it sucks

    • chobitsza

My friends all say that this game sucks too. But It’s NISA so I can do nothing but pay for it…

      • Shane Guidaboni

If the game sucks, then why would you pay for it? Atlus is my favorite gaming company/publisher, but I wouldn’t buy one of their games if it’s terrible.

        • chobitsza

Because I only hear that this game sucks but that doesn’t mean it suck for me. Just like Last Rebellion, everyone say it’s worst but I find it was fun to play. So, I have to try it for myself to see that it really suck or not.

          • TiredOfMyOldUsername

Every gamers should think like that.
Sadly nowaday to many peoples are to stupid to make an opinions for themself and decide to get a game or not with others opinions.

        • JustThisOne

True, but the idea is to give it a chance. Lots of games that receive 6s or 7s are fun, but just have certain points that subtract from the score. If you can overlook them, they’re still great games.

Either way, I dunno anything about the game, so I just want to see more of how it plays.

    • I’m right there with you on Arc Rise Fantasia, and agree that I want to try it for myself.

    • We didn’t get Arc Rise Fantasia in Europe, but from what I understand it plays like Tales and had some ex-Tales Studio/Wolfteam staff on board, right?

Time and Eternity looks more akin to an Idea Factory title, with an animated battle system and little else (no town exploration etc)

I was looking forward to this but now I’m very skeptical. I’ll probably wait for the reviews.

    • Kevadu

This game is nothing like Arc Rise Fantasia. Prepare yourself for disappointment.

    • Arc Rise Fantasia was amazing!!! it just had terrible voice acting. lol. Its really hard to believe everyone’s opinions about games because what irks them might be trivial to you and vice versa.

    • Alphabet Soup

Unfortunately I think ARF got screwed by its bad voice acting in the West – the game itself was fine. I’m on the fence with TokiTowa though…

  • Adol Christin

    Thanks a lot NISA :)

  • Thank God we don’t have to wait an eternity to play this lol, and they are also bringing all the content.

    Thank you NISA =^_^=

That trailer was just, just….. I don’t even know lol

As unbearable this game may be to people, i still hope people will enjoy it for what it is.. too be really honest i like this game but i just can’t seem to pick it up again. :(

  • SerendipityX

I was not going to get this game but that guy giving the commentary just sold me 2 copies. <3 NISA

    • Testsubject909

      Not sure why downvoted.

  • Commentary… I think that was the best part of the trailer… I’m very excited to actually be able to play this, but, man, I loved the commentary.

    • DesmaX

Boy, it really sounds like an American Wakamoto

Not as cool, of course. But interessing voice, nonetheless

  • Testsubject909

    Hello game. Goodbye money.

  • Can you please describe how steamy the downloadable episodes are… I’m curious…

And lol the trailer… 1:40, best line ever… XD

  • Go2hell66

Speaking of imageepoch games, what in the F happened to BRS: The Game? did they even mention it? was seriously looking forward to that game…

    • JazzyMan123

No mention at all….I think at this point you can pretty much forget about BRS (unless said otherwise..).

    • It was mentioned in one of their live streams they did for Neptunia V. They said is coming, but that’s all. I hope if they’re planning to attend AX again this year that they’ll shed a little more light.

  • michel

The idea of making the real time combat look like an anime is interesting… Perhaps it should have been implemented better?
50,000 copies sold in Japan is a little disappointing…

  • Guest

That narration alone makes me want to pick up this game. XD

  • Boy, this game has a lot of anti-hype…. But you still got to give IE credit for trying something so ambitious. And again, I won’t judge it until I see it myself.

    DAT narration XD

  • Freud_Hater

Well, Patrick Seitz sounds pretty excited about this, and he’s usually right, but… I dunno. Think I need more info ‘_’

  • notforsale

I still think they need to improve the frame rate :S

  • This video sucks! I was interested in this game when it was announced, but reading all this bad things about it dropped down my hype to zero.

  • zferolie

Damn it NISA. I thought I wasn’t going to have to spend much money on games this year, but then you come and give us all this.

Even with how I heard this game isn’t that great, I think I’ll still pick it up. The idea i like, and I want to see someone try and do this again.

    • Zoozbuh

Exactly!! And I kinda like the ‘playing through an anime’ idea, myself. I only play most J-RPGs for the plot and anime-ness anyway, so I think I might like this one xD

  • That announcer…was too much…

  • Crimson_Cloud

Reminds me of Thousand Arms for some reason… which reminds me. Would like to see HD remake of that game with CyberConnect level of animation. ^^

    • Testsubject909

      Thousand Arms!

Ah… I miss going out on dates to further increase the power of my forge and just laugh at the odd dialogues at time.

But I guess that’s sort of what I’m doing with Persona 3 and 4…

      • Crimson_Cloud

Yeah, but being a blacksmith while trying to be ladies mad had it’s charm. Plus medieval fantasy setting The cast of characters were great and I loved Wyna the best. ^^

  • Nozomi

You know, the narrator of this trailer is awful. Just, humiliatingly awful.

Game looks pretty though, though I hear that it’s mediocre, I’m willing to give it a shot.

    • Locklear93

He’s actually generally a competent VA. Patrick Seitz. Did Ragna as Luna Kazemaru mentioned above, and Fenrich in Disgaea 4. I blame the writing to a large extent; the lines he was given were pretty awful, and he wasn’t a great choice in general–he’s at his best when “over the top” fits the dialogue.

  • Luna Kazemaru

    Just lol at ragna’s VA…

  • Brimfyre

Ok I am now having serious doubts about this game after that trailer. It kind of looks like a CD-i game with the animation over a background.

    Also that VO. Yikes!

  • Quinton Cunningham

I can’t help but notice a distinct lack of Mugen Souls Z. Good job with that boycott, guys.

    • DesmaX

I think it’s too soon for that game

    • Testsubject909

      Boycott of what?

I’m pretty sure everyone who wanted Mugen Soul bought it.

I’ve seen quite a few people in my list of PSN buddies play Mugen Soul.

I don’t own it because of financial reasons personally, but I do plan on eventually purchasing it.

Edit: PS. If it’s a boycott against the censorship of those loli bathing scenes. I think it’s safe to say that it’s a very, very minor group of perverts.

  • NISA’s dubbing is always so hilariously over the top, while it makes me relly laugh, I also hope there’s a way to have the Japanese dubbing with English subtitles.

    NISA please.

  • That commentary… Most unique game trailer I’ve seen in a while at the very least. If I had a PS# I’d probably check this out, but alas I don’t.

  • Even if people talk crap about Arc Rise Fantasia, I still hate the fact that it never came to Europe. Horrendous voice acting aside, it seems like the perfect anime-riffic Japanese RPG for the Wii … besides Xenoblade, The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower… and Tales of Symphonia DotNW (but that one’s a sequel and not a standalone JRPG).

  • Wait, did Ragna the Bloodedge just tell me to buy this game?

    • Testsubject909

You don’t want to get on his bad side now do you?

      • N-no… but Jin does.

  • This is very cool to hear, heard about this on ANN, let see how it does in US.

  • D H

This is the first trailer I can think of that makes me cycle through, chuckling, cringing, and bursting laughter… well done!

Also, thank you NISA, for helping to keep my system free from burly bald space marines another year!

  • l777l

    Nice. Disc.

  • DanteJones

    …Wagna? Is that you?

  • Looks cool, have to keep an eye out on it though.

  • Zenthos

Animation seems choppy, characters seem generic, story has no real plot focus.
The 2d sprites in the 3d world doesn’t fit at all. Its a turned based rpg with only ONE character. I think il pass on this one.

  • CirnoLakes

I heard this got bad reviews.

    And I don’t care, I’m getting it.

  • Christopher Nunes

Was that… Ragna the Bloodedge’s VA? Oh my god! That’s awesome! XD
No wonder the voice was familiar!

And the way he delivered the lines throughout the trailer… I couldn’t stop laughing! I love NISA’s trailers! Sometimes those over-the-top voice acting really makes the game even more fun than it is!

… By the way, is it possible to get both Towi AND Towa? Judging by what Ragna told me in the trailer.

    • s07195

Yep. Though I won’t spoil how to get it.

      • Christopher Nunes

Awesome… though judging by what you’re saying it’s not easy to get and a lot of precise decision making to get both of them.

  • Issue is- the team was probably too focused on the art design and not enough of the game play. Hand drawing everything takes a lot of work and they will definitely cut corners on things like game play and story to focus on the art direction.

I’ll see if I like it, but I have a feeling I’m not going to. I really liked Arc Rise Fantasia. It wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t terrible. My only issue with it was the terrible English voice acting.

    • Locklear93

It does take a lot of work, and perhaps it ate too much of the budget, but it’s very improbable the art ate too much of the time. Artists are very seldom actually game designers or programmers as well. Studios develop gameplay using stand-in art assets specifically to avoid being held up by art.

  • Zoozbuh

And everything about that trailer is just… Ah god, they marketed it perfectly. Basically as a crazy, over-the-top anime! Seriously, anyone I know who likes anime would be at least intrigued by that trailer. YAY ;D

  • Vash bane

narrator….he sounds way too happy XD
