Tales Of Hearts R Costumes Can Change Cut-In Graphics Too

By Spencer . February 27, 2013 . 2:25pm

talescutNamco Bandai plans on selling a bunch of costumes as downloadable content for Tales of Hearts R. Players will be able to purchase school wear, idol outfits, maid & butler clothes, swimsuits, and costumes from Tales characters from previous titles.

No surprises there, these are the usual outfits the Tales team creates and sells. As seen in Jump, the Tales of Hearts R swimsuit costumes have a unique feature where they change the cut-in graphic when your character does special attacks.

Here’s a look at the PlayStation Vita re-imagining, which comes out in Japan on March 7.

Plea bamco bring this over to the west …..

    • Randy Marsh

We can only pray my friend….

      • Christopher Abraham

        Amen brother

    • Solomon_Kano

Seriously. I’d love to see this and Innocence release over here.

      • Curan_Altea

Me too, unfortunately Innocence is highly unlikely. I still have hope for Hearts though, what with the recent Tales of localizations.

        • Solomon_Kano

Yea, I thought so. I’ll hope just in case though. I mean, it did take us two years to see Graces. Even if we don’t see it soon, I’d be glad that we see it at all.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Dylan-Ng/100000854638739 Dylan Ng

Yeah, I liked the Innocence manga, but I feel like its rushed…

        • Solomon_Kano

There’s a manga? Huh. I suppose I’ll read that if we never see the game. Supposing I can find it in English.

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Dylan-Ng/100000854638739 Dylan Ng

            All chapters are in english.

          • Solomon_Kano

            Nice.

    • Brandon001

andrew man, i dont want your hopes to be smashed, but its really unlikely we’re gonna get this, namco is evil

and im just speaking from my own experiences of having my hopes crushed.

      • Ladius

This comment would have made sense two years ago, but since then Namco has completely changed its offer and is now one of the biggest supporters of the jrpg genre in the west, ranging from games like Ni no Kuni, Tales of Graces f, Tales of Xillia and Abyss 3DS to more niche titles like Project X Zone and the Time and Eternity collaboration with NISA.

I wish Sega and Konami were as “evil” as Namco with their properties’ localizations.

        • Brandon001

i like how condescending you were in that last part, but ill ignore it even though you seem to take me for an idiot.

Look, that may be true, but when i see them localize Hearts R, then i’ll second guess what i said, i dont post for the upvotes, i post what i feel, so keep bringing those downvotes, because i still don’t think Namco is all that nice. You seem to be easily won over by a handful of localized titles, but i want to see steady, consecutive localizations from them until i change my mind, and i just do not see that happening.

      • raymk

Come on man they did give un Ni No Kuni and they are releasing rpg’s like time and eternity and project x zone…bascially what Ladius said. In fact they seem to be doing better than square-enix right now which is sad. Namco is probably doing this though because their other games aren’t really doing to hot right now so they have to release something to make money.

    • Crevox

With the poor state of the vita, unlikely, unless they catch onto Persona 4 Golden fans.

      • Tatsuya1221

Actually, the vita’s survival is more based on how well the ps4 does, as the 2 are linked, that said Ys 4 is enough to get me to buy one.

    • Ladius

I couldn’t agree more, as unlikely as it may be I would love to see Hearts R released in our markets. It’s a real improvement over Innocence R, and it looks really polished and funny for an outsourced handheld remake.

  • Micrll

I still hold out hope that Sony decides to give Namco enough money to do the translation and bring this out here, even as a downloadable title only. Though given that we have not even gotten Tales of Innocence R or any word of that I guess I am just holding a fools hope.

  • Ladius

This is shaping up to be one of the best games in Vita’s young lineup, I can only hope Namco finds a way to suprise us as they did with Project X Zone.

  • Tien Ron

namco wants to make money not lose it, and sadly if they did release more tales games they would only lose because their isn’t enough people to make a profit from. this is reality

    • revenent hell

People do want the games go to any niche forum and just see how many people want these games localized…If people didnt want/buy/have an interest in these games they would not have 30+ version of tales games out or the animations.

Tales of XIllia 2 sold,as of Januaray, 431,736 units
Tales of Xillia sold 637,940 units in 2011

While not an astounding earth breaking numbers they are fairly good for just being Japan sales.
Im not in particular a Tales fan but to say not enough people are interested to make an income is not entirely correct because there obviously is,at least in Japan. In the USA it would be a ton harder since not to many of the games have been released and half the battle in sales is gathering a following from the first release and when so many others have not been people just kind of lose hope. If what you said was a fact so many niche companies would not be arround today and they are.
I just happen to think Namco Bandai dont want to risk low sales numbers either by releasing in the west. They arent a niche company so I think to them the low sales would probably be a smack in the face in a way,but no one realy knows how well or not they would do simply because most of the games have not been released.

      • raymk

Its kind of obvious he was talking about U.S sales.

        • revenent hell

          To wich I commented

  • Luis Camargo

I just finished Innocence R and I will buy Hearts R for sure.

I just hope Namco will localize the games. Innocence starts off slow, but it’s a great game and I hope Hearts R will be even better.

  • davidvinc

If this and Innocence R were released I would buy the Vita, easily. Especially since all those great Falcom games are coming too.

  • Lilith

C’mon guys, we’re getting Xillia FFS. Don’t be greedy.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Dylan-Ng/100000854638739 Dylan Ng

But we will beat Xillia eventually ryte?

    • http://twitter.com/EphemeralEspoir Espoir

Not everyone owns a PS3, y’know. I don’t see what’s so greedy about asking for a game in where the devs will get money from it >.>

      • Lilith

If that were true we would get all Tales games here.

  • Sergio Briceño

Not trying to be mean or anything, but REALLY how do they stand girl announcer voices in japanese tv shows?

After some years watching Gaki no Tsukai, I know how irritating male announcer voices can be, but when they do, you know they are having fun and they sound ridiculous for a reason. Girl announcers and their high pitch are just horrible and unbearable.

Ok, that was totally unrelated, but 5 seconds into the video I just stopped watching. It’s that bad.

  • http://www.youtube.com/Lyonharvestmoonfan Eduardo Rocha

They should bring this to America, I bet this would really increase the sales of the PS Vita. Persona 4 Golden and Tales of Hearts? Sounds worth enough to get a Vita to me, atl east.

  • Spirit Macardi

Just show me the summons in 3D already Namco! I want to know that Lloyd, Guy, and especially Klonoa are still available for you to call into battle.

  • raymk

Luckily I found the costumes scan on the actual website because you didn’t post any spencer. For shame man :(.
