God Eater 2’s New Boost Hammer Weapon Slams Into Aragami

By Spencer . February 28, 2013 . 2:09am

The Boost Hammer looks like God Eater 2’s take on the archetypical a slow, but powerful weapon. While the Boost Hammer has that feeling, but God Eater developer Shift gave this weapon a little twist. When you press R+square to charge the hammer up you can quickly close distance by dashing into an enemy or do a rapid strike attack.

You can swing the Boost Hammer horizontally to increase range or vertically to deal more damage when you slam monsters on their heads. God Eater 2 is slated for release on PSP and PlayStation Vita later this year.

Interesting weapon, not for me though. Variety is always nice though, for the sake of a balanced/diverse party.
Vita version looks really good after playing Burst on my Vita.

I am still gonna be a charge spear/sniper more likely than not. With the new combo the short sword has using R + square I feel like I’ll accidentally make myself airborne too often.

Still hoping for a localization though, as futile that may possibly be.

    • Why is it futile? The first one was released here? So why is it futile to get the second one?

If he’s hoping for PSP, I’d agree it’s futile, seeing as Namdai doesn’t localize PSP games anymore. If he’s hoping for Vita… slightly less futile. Namdai’s only released two Vita games in the west and they were both launch titles. Everything else that they’ve developed on the system since has stayed in Japan.

        • Okay, well then that makes sense.

Ive never liked bludgeoning weapons. But i have to say that the boost hammer is making a good case.

I never though that a Gboro Gboro was this huge. lol

This just proves that the answer to all lifes problems is to put a rocket engine in it.

  • Raltrios

While I’m more likely going to favour the more agile Charge Spear and Short Blade, this could be nice to try out once in a while. I did like using Buster Blades in GEB for some missions, after all.

All Hammer must referenced to this!

What anime is that mech from?! o_0

      • neocatzon

Gaogaigar, one of the best in late 90’s and in this anime you can find more bigger hammer.

    “later this year”
when are we gonna see a specific date? :/

  • I prefer Soul Sacrifice, most enjoyable gameplay

    • Jazlynn Lim

      Get both.
      Problem solved.

      • God Eater 2 isnt coming in Europe, problem solved ?

        • natchu96

We don’t know where it will come other than Japan, if at all, actually.

          • Made by Namco Bandai, Namco Bandai decided to not bring One Piece Vita in the west ( unlike the PS3 version ) , so there is no hope :/

      • Claud12

        That’s what I will do :)

  • Thankful4JRPGs

I’m thinking I might like to try this one. A buddy of mine swears by the first.

Something I find interesting; the charged…dashing strike thingy let the player ram through the Vajra’s ball of electricity. Hmm…

    • Ene Iban

I agree. I hope that you can actually do that and it’s not just that the physics are wonky right now.
