The Little Battlers W Is Getting An Updated Version On 3DS

By Ishaan . March 12, 2013 . 1:15pm

The Little Battlers W, released for the PSP and PlayStation Vita in Japan last year, is headed to the Nintendo 3DS this Summer, a CoroCoro magazine report reveals.

The game will be titled The Little Battlers W Super Custom. Additionally, a new game in the series, The Little Battlers Wars, is headed to the 3DS as well. We’ll have more news on this front in just a bit.

    Go, 3DS!

  • OverlordZetta

The series is called Danball Senki.

Little Battlers isn’t even the translation of that.

    • Brandonmkii

I will argue that Little Battlers is a good title for a localized version.

    • Hey. Guess what.

Persona is not “Shin Megami Tensei” in Japan. Nor is Devil Survivor.

      • OverlordZetta

And Danball Senki is only IN Japan. If you go to buy it, you aren’t buying a game called Little Battlers, you’re buying a game called Danball Senki.

It’s like posting articles about Senran Kagura and claiming the game is called Naked Ninjas.

        • OK, then you can keep calling it Danball Senki if you like. We’ll call it what we call it. But considering Level 5 trademarked “The Little Battlers” in the US…

        • PoweredByHentai

You know… I wouldn’t mind a game called Naked Ninjas.

    • JonathanisPrimus

The official English title for the franchise is “Little Battlers eXperience”.

  • $29082171

    Didn’t you predict this, Ishaan?

    • I wouldn’t call it so much a “prediction” as a “Yeah, this is probably gonna happen”. I think we all saw it coming after LBW bombed…

    • OverlordZetta

What’s to predict? They did it with the first one, they’ll probably do it with the third.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

I’m not going to be the guy who always post * I want this game to be Localized!!* Damnit I just said it! Maybe I shouldn’t type my inner thoughts out loud.

    • JonathanisPrimus

I imported LBX W. Trust me, you don’t want this game. It’s bad.

      • OverlordZetta

Are you kidding? The game is loads of fun.

        • Chogokin

          But it isn’t Metabots.

          • ShawnOtakuSomething

The last good Metabot was Infinity

          • JonathanisPrimus

Infinity is one of the worst Medabots game … But if you liked it, I guess more power to you?

          • ShawnOtakuSomething

it was so bad yet…I played it for hours

          • JonathanisPrimus

I suggest checking out the Medabots RPGs. Only one was released in English by the name of “Medabots: An RPG Adventure” on GBA.

        • JonathanisPrimus

I found the combat to be incredibly basic, and the camera is legitimately the worst I’ve ever used. I imported the Vita version, so I didn’t have to suffer through all the reported slowdown the PSP version had either.

        • If you play Danball Senki Boost, you will find the story of W is even more retarded though given you are not supposed to play this game for the storyline.

I am abit disappointed that Sigma Orbis didn’t get much screentime in this game.

          • LynxAmali

-If you play Danball Senki Boost, you will find the story of W is even more retarded though given you are not supposed to play this game for the storyline.

Danball’s stories were over the top and somewhat stupid. I am sorry but the first game alone, what with using an LBX to stop an assassination sort of foiled any sense of belief I had.

Besides, that’s also part of the charm. Danball KNOWS its outrageous and has fun with it. Well, the anime at least.

      • ShawnOtakuSomething

I liked and played the psp one

      • in terms of gameplay i suppose it doesn’t improve much from Boost, and sometimes getting through 10 chapters in the game feels like a pain for me.

      • almostautumn

Agree with you. It’s not that I thought it was bad, but that it was extremely repetitive, and extremely easy (to the point that it molded into my complaint of just static repetition). Overall it’s pretty inspiring visually (the over-worlds, at least), and the customization is neat and varied; but the game itself— ugh. Just wasn’t for me; same thing over and over, and just no challenge whatsoever.
*personal complaint; I, like many RPG players, am a grinder. But with this series, when you grind you also negate what is the main draw of the series, which is variety in parts. When you grind, your parts, however basic they are, level up extremely fast, and it brings you into tens of hours where you literally have no reason to even consider new customizations until the parts you find are just about the same as your extremely over-leveled ones. This is a personal complaint, and if you don’t grind then I guess this doesn’t matter— but it certainly hindered the series for me (I’ve made this mistake twice now…).

honestly they should have done this should have come out at the same time as the other versions

  • JonathanisPrimus

Some might say Level-5’s Akihiro Hino lied when he said there wouldn’t be a “Boost” version of LBX. Well, technically this isn’t a boost version … heh.

  • Tom_Phoenix

What a shocking and unexpected turn of events!

    …So, anyone for tennis?

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

While i can’t said Hino lied here but his action here is kinda giving a bad rep to the company here as it kinda prove that the action of the fans to not buy the first version is actually a better choice here.

How good is the game? I also like Custom Robo and I loved customizing the robots so is this game anything like this? The Gamecube and DS Custom Robo games were awesome and I’m hoping this one too!

I would really like to play this game in the US, it has a lot of potential!

  • Elvick

Annoying they tried to make it seem there wouldn’t be a port. Even though I understand it from a business perspective.

I don’t see why they haven’t just made the series multiplatform from the get-go. PSP/Vita/3DS. Can’t be hard, it’s been done before. And drop PSP at some point. Tada.

Otherwise, this will just keep happening. Which is lame to me.

    • OverlordZetta

That’d be the ideal thing, but now they’re looking to move to Nintendo completely… Or MAYBE give Vita/PSP the port this time around with Wars.

  • Tails the Foxhound

I’m sure this game is amazing, and I hope it gets localized, but seeing that screen just makes me want a new Custom Robo.
